Hi, Joris. My normal job a being a music director on a cruise ship. That job went away temporarily due to the Covid-19 stopping most cruise ships from sailing. I have been taking lots of pics while traveling the world on a cruise ship. Now I need to make money selling pics until my music director job comes back. I still get to do something I love and possibly make money doing it. I have had some sales so far but I think it was just from friends of mine. Since I started trying to sell my photos online I am seeing so many scam artists and companies that want to take advantage of artists, charge them lots of money for their "secret" to selling your work online. It reminds me of the used car sales people approach. It is sad that certain "artists" & companies are waiting to exploit talented people that care more about their art than marketing. I love all kinds of photography. I don't know how to categorize myself. Do you have to specialize in one type of photography to be successful? I basically like any image that is interesting to me. I am shying away of taking people shots due to the fact that you have to have a signed release by the person in the shot otherwise you can't sell it. I like street photography and have taken pics of people in public. Is there any way to sell these photos when you don't have a release? They are just random people I see on the street. I also like to take pics in antique stores. I love old things! I am guessing I can't sell those pics either due to many things probably having a copyright. Thanks for all your great info on your channel. I have learned a lot from you as I am sure many others have too. I appreciate all the work you put in. I am sharing your videos with my friends on Facebook. Hopefully my friends are sharing with their friends. Good luck with your channel. It seems to be doing very well so far. I would love your feedback about my photography. I am an amateur that would love to be pro someday. DavidMoreheadPhotography.com
I enjoy capturing anything 'natural'. Wildlife, landscape, macro of flowers and insects which, I haven't done a lot of yet. I have always been a 'camera bug'. I am currently working on updating my gear. TheJrCitizens is my internet brand and I watermark every photo I post online. The next project I want to shoot is Arizona Mountain goats or mountain sheep and then Astrophotography for fun. Thank you for sharing your experiences.
So when sending emails to your contacts, how do you approach them? Do you introduce yourself and send your photos you want published? or do you make a pitch? or do you send them a link to your portfolio?
And one more query, you might have Instagram for photography, you upload photos on it. But how do tou ensure/ safeguard the photos drom stealing. Asking query for my understanding.
Thank You So Much Joris Sir for Making this Video🙏🏼. This is that video for which I was waiting for many days. Can you please help me by making a video, on how to pitch these brands or magazine ?🤔
Hey, Siddhant! Difficult to make a video because it depends on a lot of things. Can you send me an e-mail (description) with some more info (which magazines, what kind of photograpgy, ...)? Then I can give you more specific advice.
7:28, i appreciate your idea. But what kind of email you sent. Can you make a small video covering that. Or answer to my query down below with an answer please.
Haven't tried Kavyar but the thing with these platforms is that I think there are too many and way too many people using them so I always feel like they don't meet my expectations. But like I said, haven't tried Kavyar and it's been a while since I've used a platform like that.
What kind of photography are you into? Maybe I can give you some specific advice...
Thanks for watching, guys! 🙏
