Just watched a video last night that showed this methos of hardening with charcoal... but he had a tip to add baking soda to make the hardening much deeper and said that it worked extremely well. It not only hardened a lot deeper (like over 1/16"), but it did it in a fraction of the time. I know very little on the subject, but I thought that was interesting. I can see why that method is good... but I was wondering also if there are times when that method would be bad. (Like when you only want to harden the very surface... like maybe for thin parts?)
Yea I’ve found that the degree of polish has less to do with the final appearance than. Many of the other factors. Actually sometimes a higher than 400 grit polish can produce more unsatisfactory results. The important thing is to remove imperfections such as pits and deep scrapes. Thanks for watching.
I have always loved the looks of color case hardening. Thanks for showing👍🏾
If you could get a black belt for colour this would do it. Gorgeous absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you! appreciate you watching.
Thanks for sharing your skills. It's incredible to see for an everyday person.
Thanks. Very kind remark

Wow. I’m surprised it can look that good after what looked like a pretty rough beadblasted finish
