Thanks for the video! My squirrel cage just crapped out. Good tips all the way around. I am originally from Monmouth Co., NJ. Good to see someone from Piscataway on the tube!
Jello just found your channel while looking for info on my 1987 300d w124. The car runs great and nice rust free condition. But I have to heat and no air. Climate panel does nothing. No fan nothing. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the helpful videos. Robert
its hard to pin down exactly what’s wrong. but blown/ no good fuses, not functioning blower motor, and it could be what i did in this video needs replacement in yours also. if you any random wheels from the blower motor then it’s died by now, the fuses going to the control box can blow ( usa models) .. those are the main items that fail ..
Great video.. hey, Mine doesn't blow ANY air at all. No hot. No cold. No defrost or circulation. But when i hit the buttons i can slightly hear the engine idle change with a draw. I FEEL like its the hamster cage/blower motor because of that. ??
Yes you may need to replace both at the same time . They aren’t really super expensive online. And if that doesn’t solve the issue then the next possible problem is ur ignition switch. I have a video of that also. 😀
wow. thanks for the fast reply. i know the blower motor is fairly cheap (rockauto) but a good resistor (not ebay haha) seems pretty pricey. @@piscatawaymechanic appreciate the reply. Subscribed!
I dont know what year you have or which COUNTRY your from..but in general they are located under the bracket that holds the blower motor in place... its hidden underneath the black piece with 3 screws..
Typically in (usa e class w124) it’s located underneath the blower motor ..u can follow the connecter plug 🔌 that leads to it ..its very tight area to work in /replace it
Well. Make sure you ac compressor is coming on and there is r-12 gas inside the system to make cold air, if the fan is coming on as it should there must not be any issue with that. You may need to check the wires from the ac compressor also , then check fuses related to the climate control system.. lastly check for blink fault codes .to see what underline issues are present within ur car..
@@MB-wq9ic very high possibility it is ! But Also check the near by fuse and relay . Those also burn out over time once these two items I replace in this video begin to wear out and fail ..
can you tell me please my car compressor working normal, but no air coming to inside, and i checked fan is still working if we test directly to battery. but no work if i install back to the car, My car is mercedes benz C230, Year 1997 Thank you so much Dear🙏🙏
Thank you for the Voltage Regulator heads up. That is similar to troubleshooting an Alternator prior to investing in a new Alternator. I have an extra Voltage Regular from my 1989 560 SEL and will test in my 1988 560 SEL blower motor. Also, thanks for indicating that the "Flat Blade Fuse" relates to the Blower Motor. I recently noticed that fuse and did not know which device it was associated with. There is also a 10 amp fuse in a separate housing to its right towards the fire wall, which I do not know which device that fuse is for. Again,,,,,,,,Thanks..!!!!!
Hi bud. Can you help me? Mine is working only 1 speed. I have recently changed heat fun but still in one speed. Also one of the connector coming from climate control (yellow) doesn't have any voltage . Also the heater fun you can't stoped form inside.
Some places to check. Your ignition switch, the fans voltage regulator, and any strip fuses in the small black box next to the strut mount. Hope that helps
sometimes you may need to check fuses, then you may need to replace the voltage regulator and blower fan in combination. especially if you happen to have intermittent on /off issues or the blower motor squeal loudly before its slow death.
It’s hard to pinpoint exactly. But things like broken vent flap control motors. Bad interior temperature sensor, bad coolant change over valve, bad air pressure control valve for vent flaps , but I’ve noticed with Mercedes Benz the vent control motors fail causes variations in temperature from the vent and flow problems until they just fail completely. That’s my best random guess 🤷🏼♂️
hi, sorry but i write from italy. i have a problem with clima. it runs only fast and not low. and it make hot or extremly cold. what can i do? thankyou very much.
Well I’m not 100% sure .. but a good guess I’d try a new blower motor voltage regular to start .. and see if that makes any difference.then if something is still wrong ,look at the blower motor unit itself . Check all fuses make sure they look ok .. I hope that helps you !

Yeah buying used parts off eBay is a total crapshoot. Best to simply buy new so you can eliminate things as being the problem.

My w124 is blowing hot air mixed with cold air. It is supposed to blow only cold air in the central vents but side vents also are blowing hot air.
