Had many opportunities to visit but closest I’ve been to the Philippines 🇵🇭 was the Borneo (Malaysia) coastline. Our daughter visited separately but didn’t stay much in Manila and headed out to one of the islands. 🌴
Odd that it would be difficult to find info from the Manila airport to downtown. 🤔 Looks like you managed okay. Still can’t get over 5-across seating on a bus. 🤯

Thanks Lucchesse 😊 Philippines is quite similar to that Borneo coastline geographically but the people are very different. It's quite a mellow place outside the city but Manila is definitely quite manic. An interesting place to visit, alright. 👍

That's the first time I see a bus with 5 seats (3+2), is that common in Asia?

That's a great question...and yes, I had to upload the front page of my passport to register the SIM, and in most other countries, you need to show ID.
I can't reme seeing buses like that in many other countries, maybe Guatemala but that was back in 1997 😊🤣

Do we need onward travel tickets when arriving in Sri Lanka Mandy
That's a great question, Leslie. The airline asked to see onwards tickets when we boarded in Perth, but Immigration only wanted to see our visas when we arrived. We were fortunate to have been able to get a 90-day visa for the same price as the standard 30-day one (I think it was 90 days 🤔) as the Sri Lankan government wanted to encourage tourists, but do check as I think it's back to 30 days now.
