    Hello everyone! It's so great to see a video from y'all again. (Even if I'm late watching ^^; lol.) One cool think about Meyers Briggs tests is that the results can actually change for a person as they develop over time. Like I was an EFTJ when I was in high school, then I was an INFP, but recently I retook the test and my results were INFJ. It's all about how you change over time. I admit, I was super excited to here that Jess and I have the same personality type. And it was cool to here all the boys results. I'm a little curious to know what Gaz would get now. 😄 I hope y'all are doing alright. Sending lots of love!

    I love Ed so much, he makes me laugh (love the rest of you too of course :D)
    When I take various Myers-Briggs tests, I always get "IN" but the next two letters seem very variable, and I'm always borderline between the two options for each slot, anyone else have this happen? I don't think it's due to a changing personality as I'm nearly 30, so I don't think I have that much more maturing to do personality-wise...

    We have 30+ alters in our system. Our host is INFJ, all of our main protectors are ISTJs, and the largest group of us (7 out of those who we managed to get to take it) is ENFPs. We found it absolutely hilarious that our alter, Luke, has the same type as Ed, because since we started watching your videos we've been telling him how much Ed reminds us of him, and he always refuses to believe us.
    PS: It's nice to see a new video from you guys! :) Meet the Alters part 2 sounds like a lot of fun

    • @ballerrabbid9105
      @ballerrabbid9105 6 років тому +87

      Rachel T What a terrible thing to say. Any amount of alters is possible in a system, and while it might be rare it's not impossible and not unheard of. Please don't question other people's disorders over the Internet. You're only making things worse.

    • @jayfeather101love
      @jayfeather101love 6 років тому +53

      Just FYI: 30 is nothing. I know many systems with over 100. The average number of alters in a DID system is about 10-15.

    • @Kfrench0661
      @Kfrench0661 6 років тому +32

      +baller rabbid I doubt anything bad was meant by Rachel's comment like she's actually questioning the reality of the disorder. I think it is quite difficult, as a person with no alters, to comprehend how a system could remain manageable with many many alters. Just more questions to ask, and more to learn about other human beings : )

      CherryPie :D So sorry for such a late response, UA-cam never gave me a notification.
      When it comes to us, the only ones that come out incredibly randomly are 4. Robecca, Gretchen, Xixi, and Zafina. Robecca and Gretchen for no-so-good reasons and results, and Xixi and Zafina because, well, Xixi is a little and Zafina is essentially the parent who helps me the most in terms of understanding, cohabitation, and explaining to others. As for the other 6, it's a lot more rare for them to come out. Though I do try to give them time in the week because they also have wants and needs, so if they take it, they take it. If not, then they can try next time. And if they come out at some random time, I just have to accept it. But in the inside world, Zafina will give them the biggest lecture for being irresponsible.

    • @kwirkxx
      @kwirkxx 4 роки тому +2

      I’m sure you have learnt more in the two years since you posted this. This is a fascinating disorder in which when a child (at a young age like 4-7) has suffered trauma numerous amounts of time and when they could neither fight or flight their brain has made a way to deal with this. So instead of the brain completing a whole personality, since they could not fight or run it has broken into pieces (the personality) and made separate personalities (alters) so that the child enduring this trauma doesn’t have to live it, another part of the brain does (an alter) will then deal with it. It’s so interesting and sad at the same time. These alters then protect the “main” person so they don’t have to remember anything. You are not meant to know you have this disorder, that’s the point in DID. The “host” is not meant to remember anything. I hope that helped in some way.
      I honestly respect Jess, Oli, Ed, Jamie and Jake so much that they shares all this with us and I hope them well with their new child Evie and how amazing of a husband Gaz is, I give you all my love❤️ xxx

    • @lithiumkid
      @lithiumkid 3 роки тому +3

      @@kwirkxx there are a few errors in this. in many cases, there is no “main” person. before that you use the word broken and there is nothing to break at that age, a personality simply fails to form at all. ordinarily the various facets of your consciousness coalesce into a unified, somewhat steady personality by about 8-10 years old, the process is interrupted when someone has DID. and you left out the fact that as well as continuous interpersonal trauma in childhood, another necessary feature is a disorganized attachment to your primary caregiver during childhood.

    So I learned in my psych class about how most people with DID don't realize that they have it because their personalities don't interact. And that they figure it out eventually because they'll wake up wearing completely different clothes and in a different place, etc. so I was just curious how you figured out you had DID, or was it something you had as a kid and your parents realized?
    Ps if thats too personal or you've made a video on this I totally understand ❤️

      She didn't know at first and she used to wake up in random places not knowing how she got there and Ed was also hurting himself at first so she would find scratches and stuff on her body.. She only new what she actually had when she started studying psychology and found an article about the difference between schizophrenia and DID and the description of DID matched then I guess she got help from a psychiatrist and that's when Jamie Ed and Jack introduced themselves there's a documentary where she explains all of this you can look for it on youtube !

      The thing here is that most of the tests are very likely inaccurate, and very black-and-whiteish with answers and whatnot, so if you truly want to figure out your type start with pinpointing your cognitive functions first of all.

    our others are: ENFP (little girls); ESTP (sexual alter) ESTJ (inner self helper and anp's) ; the little boys are all ESFP; Our biggest strongest most traumatized are ISTJ's.

    *Please read this*
    The 16 personnalities is one of the worst and the one of the most inaccurate test of MBTI. The problem is that 16personnalities test types on letters and not functions. And the worst thing than letters typing is inaccurate letters typing. 16personnalities types being shy and quiet as introversion vs being loud and confident as extroversion, being intelligent and unemotional as thinkong vs being nice and emotional as feeling and so on. Just look at the questions if you don't trust me... That's the problem with 16personnalities test. Because if that, many people think they are Infj, infp, entj, but they are not. So please if you want to know your MBTI type, look for the cognitive functions.

    Oh my god I just took the test and it turns out I have the same type as Jess! Being similar to her seems even more special than supposedly making up 1% of the population.
    I'm also curious if trauma or mental illness have a link to this. I do not have DID but I do have bipolar disorder and ptsd. My trauma happened as a teenager/young adult, so it shaped me a bit differently.
    I'm not someone who believes in the supernatural, so psychics, my zodiac sign, etc don't really convince me of anything. Always pretty generalized. But I really feel these results resemble me so closely, and it's nice to see some science behind it. And more than anything they make me hope. I always want to change the world and make it a better place as an advocate, and reading that if anyone can do it, it's my personality type just feels so validating.
    PS. I'm new to the channel. I've only been watching for the last week or so, but I've already watched so much and done research on the side, because I wasn't very familiar with DID. I face some stigma with my disorder as well, so watching people like you thrive and push back against those stigmas is really inspiring. I love all of you.

    I''m glad you-all are back! Thanks for this video, I think it's awesome! Our system has been fascinated with the MBTI ever since we first learned about it a few months ago. We've actually been using the same website that you are using to take the test (I think there are some other sites out there that let you take the test for free, but that one is really good!) We have a rather large system (70 parts/alters), and so far 16 of us have taken the test. Here are our results so far:
    Doug and Lilith: INFP "The Mediator"
    Myself (Leyna) and Masako: INFJ "The Advocate"
    Jenny, Rachel, Mindy and Elena: ENFP "The Campainer"
    Elizabeth: ENFJ "The Protagonist"
    Mattie: ENTP "The Debater"
    Nira: INTP "The Logician"
    Louise: INTJ "The Architect"
    Lynn: ISFJ "The Defender"
    Denise D: ENTJ "The Commander"
    Hope: ESFJ "The Consul"
    Vanessa: ISFP "The Adventurer" (although her S/N score was very close to the middle, so she could be either this or a Mediator, and she seems to show some signs of both)
    So, we have 11 out of the 16 personality types so far. We think that's pretty cool! That means we have a lot of diversity, and can better understand now how we can use each of our strengths and help each other to overcome our weaknesses. Oh, and we've been thinking for a while now, watching your videos, that our Rachel is similar to your Jake, so it makes sense that they are both Campaigners! We're really excited about how the MBTI can be a valuable tool to help DID people like us understand ourselves better. And also, it turns out that our part Hope has the same personality type as our wife, so that means Hope can help smooth over communication problems with her. I would highly recommend this test to anybody, but especially other DID systems! - Leyna

    It would be so cool if you did the keys 2 cognition test instead of this one.
    MBTI used to be my special interest, so if you want a crash course in MBTI history, here we go!!! (assuming I remember correctly heh) just ignore this, I just love how deep MBTI really goes, and hope that someone else also finds it interesting^^
    /nerd rant begins/
    The keys 2 cognition test is based on the cognitive functions Carl Jung wrote about.
    However, the test you all took is based on the work of Katharine Cook Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs Myers, which is a much more simplified way to approach MBTI. I won't shit on anyone for using it, but I urge people to Google the keys 2 cognition test as well, as it gives further and deeper insight into the functions behind the archetypes.
    Combing the letters and the functions is really a great way to gain more insight about yourself^^
    Each type is built up of four functions (out of eight in total) as well as four letters. The functions take stand in N, S, T, and F, and then each of those will be accompanied by either an e or an i, depending on whether the sensing, intuition, thinking, and feeling is extroverted or introverted. The intuition and sensing functions are perceiving functions (learning and understanding) while the thinking and feeling functions are judging functions (decision making).
    Each archetype has one dominant functions, then auxiliary, tertiary, and inferior function, which will develop throughout your life.
    It's SO SO SO interesting and you get a scoreboard on the keys 2 cognition website with how you scored on every single function. The test will give you the type you scored as depending on how developed your functions are, as well as presenting two other possible types, or if you've read stuff about functions yourself, you can determine your type from the chart and judge for yourself which of the presented types you identify most with.
    Hahaha sorry about this, it's so long, but REALLY fun, isn't it??? Ahh I love MBTI^^
    /nerd rant over/

    I'm an INTP, and my girlfriend has DID. In general from the outside her behavior is relatively consistent, at least as much as anyone else, yet I see usually 2-3 alters as she's said. I'm not so good at spotting a switch and treat all of her the same. In fact, most of the time I'm blissfully forgetful that she even has DID. Maybe that's something she sought out. I am happy that she doesn't use the terminology and refrains from using names. My nature as an INTP is to break this system down, confront it from all sides, pry into it, deconstruct, and rearrange or "put it back together as a whole". The fact that it's a defense mechanism makes this a terrible idea, so I have to use a lot of restraint to let her be.

    I agree in that (on a positive way) the ENFPs are a bit too much really, we have in our system an ENFP personality and I know about an ENFP personality in another system and they are so energetic, and they have really good communication and they are a littlebit "hyperactive"
    ENFPs are important especially if you have in your system for an example an INTP personality or an alter who have depression triggers and being melancholy
    The ENFP can encourage them and makes happy them
    But I know about that in my ex-friend's system there was an ENFP and the Host personality thought about Him as really annoying and He hated Him so much because His energy
    In my opinion ENFPs are sooo kind and wholesome, I love their energy and I really appreciate their personality, I love our ENFP boi too!💙💙💙💙💙
    They are a treasure!💙💙💙💙💙
    - Dusty from The Crazy Colorful System who is a depressed ENFJ🤣💙
    Corr.: Oh and finally our ESTP boi can "partying" with our ENFP, our ESTP found a really good and close friend in our ENFP, they have lot of interests what is the same and they understand eachother so easily!🤗🤗🤗💙

    Wow, I didn't expect that I came out INFJ (Advocate Diplomat), but in high school, my test was an INXX (equally T/F and P/J and easily able to flow into all four). I thought I'd settled as an INTJ. I honestly thought I'd match up more closely to Ed than I did. Just out of curiosity, how strongly were Ed and Ollie on Introverted? Mine is (as always has been) 100%.

    Gee we make up three percent of the population, can't say what the others are in our system would score since we do not have the ability to call them out at will. Do not know how well this would work for the children in the system since they may not have a grasp of what the questions are asking. Believe it would be very hard for those children, in our system, below the age of 8 years old.

    Oooh this is such a great idea!
    I've done the test for the first time three years ago and have always been an (extremely turbulent) ENFP. I never really knew if I should be proud of it or not since ENFP struck me as pretentious, obnoxious, over-senstive and generally impractical(basically how I see myself and how I believe others see me as well).
    Which is why I'm so surprised and happy that someone who's such a great sympathetic guy as Jake is also an ENFP! I'm so glad, somehow I feel proud to know that I'm similar to him and that I can potentially seem just as approachable, down to earth and friendly!
    Thank you guys for doing this test!
    PS my best friend is an INFJ too it's said to be the best fit for an ENFP and now that I think about it Jess and her really seem pretty similar somehow, ambition wise for example. I'm so glad to have her, she's such gem (even as rare!) :)

    I wonder what your Enneagram types would be? Our types (I'm a 1) tell us what we struggle with and what our strengths are, as well as how to grow. This test doesn't have scientific backing at all, though the MBTI has shown it has poor validity and reliability both. So, I think personality is just a hard thing to test. For me, the Enneagram spoke to my own trauma and how it shaped me. So, I think you'd all have different types since you all reacted differently to your trauma. (I don't have DID, just PTSD from childhood. So, maybe I'm wrong. It just seems like it could be interesting!
