When Mickey visits; trouble follows. I seem to remember there were several times that Mickey came to visit Uncle Sky. Mickey was Sky King's Timmy from Lassie.
I remember watching this episode (in rerun, early 1960s) on a Saturday afternoon. I watched Sky King from time to time, but this is the only episode that ever stuck with me. Sure glad you posted it!
Off the reservation with this episode - in more ways than one. Interesting that it was the final episode of the series. No Sheriff Mitch, no Clipper, and no Chubby. I guess they had already laid those regulars off.
I get a kick out of knowing that Since SKY KING was one of my favorite shows back in the day. i now live about a 1/2 a mile as THE SONGBIRD FLIES from the Flying Crown Ranch and if I get up on my Pool slide I can see the general area that the SONGBIRD took off from which was right across the street from The Flying Crown Ranch and part of the old APPLE VALLEY AIRPORT SMALL WORLD HUH?
I ran it through an inflation calculator. As of December 31, 2022 (latest info I have inflation data on) $25,000 USD would be worth $257,885.62 USD. Pretty close estimate.
I really enjoyed Sky King as a kid back in the late 50's viewing many of them as they were first showings. I just turned 70 in December. Back then as is now I live in Brooklyn, New York.

That jump Sky did over the car towards the end was nuts! 50s parkour right there, in cowboy boots!

I could use a kiss from Penny....she is simply TOO CUTE !

This is a blast from the past. The chubby cop is actor and poet John Mitchum, Robert’s younger brother.
He was also degeorgio in dirty Harry.

The Whirlybirds, The Flying Doctor and Sky King (brought to you by NABISCO) shaped my life. Pilot for 55 years.
Mom said this was a favorite show when I was young. My doll's name was Penny.

Still a great series.
Oh boy, Mickey had a whole hot dog for supper.
Wow imagine that $25,000 Pearl back in the fifties and must be worth about a quarter of a million dollars now ❤️🍔💍💎🥳🔵

I would fly to the moon for a Lorna Doone.
Wonder what amusement park that was?
That's the Pike in Long Beach. Long gone, very popular in its day.
