If this performance can’t convince the doubters that this project and system is worth some patience, nothing will. It’s not the first such win this season either. With some time, and maturity, this team can compete at the top - consistency is the big missing piece, but that comes with time together. Fans should remember this manager inherited a second string team that had finished 8th, and lost the key player that carried the team on his back to even be in the top half. Finishing 5th first season was already a miracle, and seeing these results coming regularly now is an immense achievement already given the circumstances.
Thank u mate.. honestly I feel most ange out people are either new to the club or struggle with a low intelligence…. We’re THFC not Madrid… give ange 2 more transfer windows and we’ll be a contending for at least 3rd 😂
Thats because its a rebuild ,Anges rebuild. A learning curve . As fans we swing with wins and defeats but you have to look at big picture . I honestly see this season as transition to something better and not expecting trophy ,so I'm happy to take defeats as well as wins if its part of that learning curve to a better place. To be the team he wants you need growing pains. This performance is a glimpse of that target.
It actually makes perfect sense. The effort you put in what you do determines what you get out of it. Tottenham turned up for City, but think Ipswich requires minimum effort
You know Ange beat MC with a depleted team. MC have the biggest budget, the strongest team, and are playing at home. He completely outfoxed Guardiola. Give Ange the MC team and see what happens.
The key to this win was the team selection. I think that's the first time this season we've seen that AM triangle of Kulu and Madders with Pape just behind them and just in front of Bissoume. All 4 were brilliant and a huge part of our success was giving Sonny and Kulu the freedom to come inside and create overloads. Who says Ange can't change things up?
It's tedious that people think that inconsistency is somehow incomprehensible when in fact it's just a feature of building any team, not just football but team sports in general. I think the idea of a one match being a big turning point is not how it works. Those big wins have all been small turning points, and the frustrating losses small course corrections. The big results weve had this season did not happen nearly as regularly last season. The improvement in performance is clear. From the performance we can say that Tottenham have the needed squad to beat any team and excel high..so what is lacking that makes them shrunk and inconsistent every now and then.. They should keep the confidence and strive on better with passion and grit for the trophy, because a player can be remembered mostly for the trophies they achieved at the club not just for how good they were. Really wish this squad will keep doing good and hopefully bring trophies for the club and for themselves.. Coys!
Ben Davies and Sonny set the tone. Everyone’s success came after and wouldn’t have been possible without the two vets. Vicario was on another level though.
I went checking back on Spurs results and was trying to recall all the games I saw in the last couple of years and I think that was our best game since that 6-1 win at Old Trafford back in 2020, possibly even better. I wish we could keep at least 75% of that quality in every game and we will be flying!
If Spurs do two things every time, they will go on and win trophies and championships: clinical and compact. Angball is demanding and high-risk, but it is also the best football on the planet. The proof: Spurs 4 Man City 0 at the Etihad.
Do not underestimate the value of Ben Davis in organising the defence. He is not the quickest and he is not the hardest, but he, like Bobby Moore years ago, has a brain that is quicker so his feet don't have to be. Also, look at the desire to work from James Maddison for his 2 goals, he ran at top speed a long way for each one. He was seen and he got the ball and scored. That level of intensity needs to be in every game, especially against so-called lesser teams who park the bus. We are better playing football than fighting, and opposition know that they have to fight to have a chance. They fight and if we do not match them, you get Palace and Ipswich and Brighton. Where would we be with those 9 points? Think about that you players and ask yourselves whether you want to be league champions or not. If you do, then fight for it, you can do it, it is just a question of whether you want it.
Well , We didn't play Ange-ball ( High-line 4 Life ) as we've seen it due to City doing what they do ( Attack always ).
