Well, Paul Baghdadlian neither wrote nor was he the first to record this song. This song was written by Enrico Macias in collaboration with Jacques Demarny and Pascal-René Blanc. The original recording (in French) was released in 1966. Some ten years later, an Armenian version of this song titled "Hayortik" (with a new set of lyrics) was recorded and released by an Armenian band (based in Lebanon) called The Five Fingers. Paul Baghdadlian's version which came a little later proved very popular among the Armenians of the Middle East, but it was not exactly his song (for those who might've thought he owned it).
Who gives a f? Gomidas created the whole middle eastern, Turkish, Anatolian sound which can be seen even today in any Turk music, he was armenian, he did reasearches, travelled thousands of armenian willages, and now some cheap melody rip off you making like a big deal, Turks should thank armenian for alphabet (Agop Martayan) and music (Gomidas), go away
I’m Assyrian but I love him RIP he is one of my best singer in the world
R.I.P.: Paul Baghdadlian 😢😢😢
Forever in our hearts! ❤️❤️❤️
