My japanese saw also have these two kinds of teeth.. I always liked more the smaller teeth side because I thought it was sharper, what are the benefits of bigger teeth?
The smaller teeth definitely are sharper (for cutting across the grain). The larger, simpler tooth is specifically designed for cutting parallel to the grain, and is surprisingly more effective than the smaller tooth in this application.
my 7 minutes time well spent for this video. thanks for the tip
I like your cutting a diagonal method
Thanks Patrick.....works like a charm.
Incredible rip. I must learn how to do that. Thanks.
I'd really like to master sharpening. Do you know of any Kataba's, Ryoba's or other pull stroke saws that are made of sharpenable teeth?
