I initially didn’t like Slipknot until I actually started listening to them… now they’re one of my absolute favorite bands!

Watching the Gen-Z video and rewatching this one makes me realize that older people are a lot more receptive to new things than the more recent generations and it´s supposed to be the other way around.
It could be an aspect of maturity tbh. When you're older, you're humble enough to know youre often wrong about things and if you exercise patience and try to pay attention to details, you might notice interesting things you previously didn't.
When you're young, you're kind of a blockheaded moron with no patience who puts a wall up as soon as something starts going in a direction you're uncomfortable with.

Funny enough, when these "Elders" were younger their parents said the same thing about Alice Cooper, Kiss and Ozzy. The cycle continues today and ALWAYS will. We as humans gravitate to what we enjoyed as teens. I can't speak for ALL but I even enjoy the music my parent's loved from the 70's and 80's and even music from my Grandparent's generation (DooWop Days).
I am pretty sure they liked the old school metal in their teens, but of course responsiblity had to come for us all

When I was listening regularly to metal I got so used to it that it was relaxing, I could fall asleep with slipknot or motionless in white blasting my ears.

i saw them live a few months back and the best parts of the whole show were seeing clown get all irritated when tortilla man would come over to his drums and bug him lmao. and when tortilla man decided to go down to the stage and pick up a stage railing and wave it above his head. man kept the whole show alive.
