Mason Quinn and Hank Smith shine as Frenchtown sweeps East Helena in doubleheader

- EAST HELENA, Mont. - The Frenchtown Broncs boys and girls' basketball teams swept East Helena in a Class A nonconference match up on Wednesday night.
The East Helena girls were aiming for their first win of the season, but Frenchtown's star junior Mason Quinn proved to be a formidable opponent.
The Broncs took an early lead with Heather Haskins connecting from the corner on a 3-pointer. Quinn then hit a triple with seconds remaining in the first quarter.
Quinn continued to dominate, showcasing why she has double-digit Division One offers by scoring with an "and one."
The Vigilantes trailed by 15 at halftime. Ellie Silvonen attempted to cut the lead with a couple of tough layups in the third quarter, but Quinn and her team were too strong.
Quinn finished the game with 24 points, leading the Broncs to a 57-32 victory, marking their first win of the season.
The boys game game was a back-and-forth battle, with Henry Griffin scoring a driving layup and Deondray Ellis adding a layup of his own in the first quarter.
Sophomore Hank Smith played a significant role in Frenchtown's success, scoring 24 points and dominating in the paint.
The score was tied at 47-47 at the end of the third quarter.
East Helena's Slade Olson found success from three-point land and finished with 20 points while Ellis had 24.
Henry Griffen had 17 points for the Broncs, who held on to win 61-60, maintaining their undefeated record.
