Fast seems an over-exaggeration. Say you start at rank 3. You need to max out your rank 3 to lvl 30 first. Then to rank him up, you either need to sacrifice 3 other rank 3, or max out 3 rank 2's and then sacrifice 6 other rank 2's to get them to rank 3. And just gets worse from there on By the time you get to rank 6 you would've sacrificed and maxed out about 50 champions. That's insane. Takes weeks, literally. Even if you get a bunch of free energy, still takes you a week+. It's nothing but grinding and grinding, the same stage over and over and over again. And the game doesn't even have a skip or sim option, like most other mobile games have. No, you gotta sit through and watch every single battle. Which could take up HOURS. So that means you're putting in multiple hours a day and it still takes you multiple weeks to get just one character to rank 6. Unless you start paying to get your hands on chickens. Which, imo, should've been farmable. If they don't want people getting too many of them, then make the quests a high energy cost, or like faction wars where you only get a limited amount of fights. But like this? This is just dirty. Basically forcing people to put down money. They even recommend it to you in-game in the world chat. Almost daily. The players who do that are probably getting sponsored or something. Once the Mirrorverse game from Disney releases I'll probably delete this player unfriendly game. I mean, I'm only 19 days in and already I've got nothing left to do except to constantly grind levels to rank up champions just so I get to boost one of my better champions to higher rank. Sure, there's the constant events. But let's be honest here, it's not like those rewards are actually all that useful. Maybe 5% of them.
When I first started I didn’t know that you could go over your energy cap so I let several energy refills expire in my mailbox before figuring out that it allowed overflow 🤦♂️
When Ash was farming Warpriest as food, I couldn't help but remember back to when Ash making a comment to ChoseN about how awesome Warpriest seemed to be... oh how the times have changed haha
ash behaves like a puppy sometimes. he gets excited about a champ for 30 seconds and hes done.. remember ash has 20 epics in his top 5 epics list. thats him in a nutshell lol
I used Warpriest at the beginning. She is can take a hit. Having champs who last a couple rounds is nice especially for a noob who doesn't have gear and epic champs .

I did exactly the same. I’ve been playing for 1.5 years but didn’t watch tutorials until 6 months ago lol. You can sometimes find Armiger in the shop for under 50,000 silver. I picked up two recently.

This game requires a lot of knowledge. You really have to be a sponge and retain everything. It's pretty overwhelming for a new player like myself. I've already made so many mistakes I had no idea were mistakes.
This video is so true. I took Warmaiden, Tayrel, Armina and Dhukk to 60 early on as they were high rated. Massive duplication and now only two get used.
the exp is enough to level them from lvl 1 to 50 and then from lvl 1 to 60 even. I often don´t even use a "bossslayer" anymore. good champions with good gear on and good abilities can do the mino themselves as soon as they have some levels. especially champions that are good vs clanboss are also good vs mino.
This was one of the huge mistakes I made when I started playing. Not recognizing what my team needed. for example all the content creators was raving about warmaiden for new accounts and I had a war Maiden so I decided to invest in her. That would have been all good and very smart to do for a new player if that new player on day one didn't open a sacred shard and get ghostborn out of it. Now Ward Maiden is a great champion but obviously as you know ghost born does everything she does just better LOL
I hear so many people talking about getting your first guy to 60 as fast as you can. I finally got one of mine to 60 after a few months. IMO there is something really wrong with the game if that is the goal for a new player. It totally takes the fun out of the game and just makes it more of a job. I had a lot more fun trying to combine different guys to beat stages of a dungeon than just leveling up a crap ton of food.
So far after watching your video on shieldguard I have gotten a bunch of him and been using him for books for my shieldguard that I'm actually getting to level six and so far I got two I'm getting to level six and booked up with other shieldguards
Only bugs when your placing on PC, no bugs on a movie device with nasty specs. But what Drew me to this game was the Crossplay between PC and Mobile, never been done like this before so this game really was revolutionary the people who don't like it because of Turn based play, and also the ability of Auto Play, it sounds stupid to many people, and it seemed stupid to me too until I started playing. I said to myself "ya know what , I'm gonna ignore when people say it's pathetic because of the Auto option. And I'm just gonna play the Game and find out for myself weather it was garbage it not. I'm a Beta Tester, that's my main profession, I was 1 out of 2000 people that was picked to test the Call of Duty Mobile Alpha, it was like almost 6 months Before the Beta was made available to myself and several others and the last month of the Beta was open I think but I tried the game out, and I started to love it because it's like building a unit and they just get stronger and stronger every time, the customization, the animations are phenomenal; I give myself watching it even if it's on Auto okay; but listen for everyone who's doesn't understand. It takes an incredible amount of skill to successfully build a team that can rank on the Leaderboards
this helped a lot, I got lucky and pulled 2 apothecary's from uncommon mystery shards and one Soulbond Bowyer from it. Imma lvl some of em up and add to my Avengers squad

Farming campaign is perfect for food but if you plan to build a champion solo mino and have your build champ getting the scrolls and xp even when it's dead will lvl build champ fast
I started playing this half arsed almost 5 months ago. Really wish I took the time to watch your videos first. One could not have made more mistakes than I did, using epic books on rares, feeding valuable rares, wasting skill books on crap champs, trying to make a FW team for every faction. I feel like i'm staring over now albeit with some good champs.

It did fit here well, though. It is good advice for any new player to not spend ANY legendary books until you have enough in store to fully book Scyl of the Drakes on the day you get her (well, unless you pull one of the very few universally useful Top Tier Legendaries that would give you an equally great push right away). Scyl is awesome and will help a midgame player out almost everywhere in the game, but she needs those cooldown reductions on her A2 and her Revive to be fully efficient.
Would this be a solid team of four? Kael, stag knight, deacon Armstrong and high katun. I'm lvl 30 right now and my Kael is still lvl 50 but I'm struggling with the story. Can get past brutal 11-3.

You can get one rate book a week on average from the bazaar. It helps for those really good rates to help book them out. I played five months before mastering my first unit. I'm now running minotaur nearly everyday trying to get masteries for my go to teams.
I invested in the Achak the Wendarin & Mordecai combo because I got them together. They have had so much value in several areas of the game. I made them both support & tank trees and put Mordecai in a regen set. They're top tier on Spider, Nether Spider, and Frost Spider. They work good on Ice Golem and Minotaur too. I think people really overlook Mordecai's turn meter control having tunnel vision for his aoe HP Burn. His attack up is a huge bonus too. For a 2 champ tandem they have huge value!
I pulled a Rae and she has synergy with this combo too with the aoe freeze, but Graybeard who's free to farm has that same synergy. Drexthar who's also free has huge synergy as well.
Duplicate/Books farming solution: When you get a duplicate champion, you can have the option to sell it for books, based on the champion rarity. Ex: 20 books for rare duplicate, 10 books for Epics and 5 books for Legendaries Other option hould be to extract books from duplicates with silver.
So i tried this game about a month ago, now ive become kinda hooked. I quit playing my switch altogether in favor of raid. Only money i spent was on the level 30 pack because it was just a great deal. Other than that il remain mostly ftp. I know il never be top tier in arena or competitive against top players but its still a fun game. The wife and i are playing it so il just try and out do her. Its a shame i cant battle her one on one. That would be cool
i had one member in my clan feed his first kael on his first epic champion he got when he pulled shaards. he wasnt even a month into the game. another member fed valkyrie 3-4 months into the game me, personally, while doing the brogni fusion, i set my alarm to get some fragments. i set my alarm, woke up, didnt press snooze or have a backup and ended up falling back asleep. i missed my fragments and couldnt get the rest of the shards i wanted.
Just want to get in here and say thanks to the whalers that have not forgotten about the F2P folks, we are scraping it but your help in game is highly appreciated. It is about the only way I can complete a few quests and move forward a little at a time. 👍👍👍

My main team is mainly survival ( skullcrusher + rearguard sergent + apothecary) and slamming ( kael + saito) . I use them in every dungeon and as well as clan boss.

Soylent Green is Orcs!!! Finally got Scyl O.T. Drakes. First and only Legendary so far. Got her to 50 and will be the next 60. But I got no books. I haven't won any Legendary books. Have her fully ascended and basic scroll masteries complete. I am going to target he for advanced scrolls and will test a couple of combinations. Bellower is maxed on 6 star ascended and has all advanced scrolls. Want Kael and Captain Tamila who are fully ascended 6 star.

Hey ash, i want to do what you adviced but this tournaments kept us busy in that particular area rather than doing a whole lot to other things such as farming in campaign, or potions keeps, or scrolls. Hence, spending our energy and gems to just one area coz of course we want to win the rewards.
Can someone please give a step-by-step on how to buy masteries? I have looked everywhere, including the gem shop, and I can’t find that option on my account. Thanks.
Great uncommon champ like armiger and shieldguard should you want to can also be leveled and fully book easily since both are easily obtainable in market(shieldguard can also be obtained in that desert stage alongside another really good rare, warmaiden) so dont waste a single books to fully max their skills
Hey Hotash; Do we need more than 12 of anyone faction? The only place I can see that we do, is for our tag team fulfillments. Getting epic books, only after grinding an entire event, is a fix worth mentioning to Plarium. The only embarrassing moment was when I ask other higher up clan mems a question that is newbish. And when are you gonna make an ash tank top line????
I started with Elhain and I'm struggling on hard. I have corpse collector, shaman, warmadian, sniper4star, and pain keeper these are my main champions. Not sure how this team is and not sure what a balanced team looks like so kind of ask about balanced team tips.

I got a Dark Athel early on in the game, and in a day or so I'm going to get another copy of her as a log in reward. Should I use that 2nd one as food to increase one of the abilities? Or keep her as a 2nd hero to level up?
Can you make a video on support champs?? I'm currently building quargon and apothecary and thenesil, I have been using shaman and warpriest. Debating in keeping those to or feeding to kael... I get max chest from several clan bosses every day... each day I get 6 chances to pull a book from CB... I call that farming... especially for a resource that lasts so well
you tell ppl to farm 12-3 because of the slight silver bonus it gives. While that is true , a lot of newcomers in my clan 4 example struggle to have speed boots. I told them to instead of 12-3 farm 12-6 because it makes sure that you will at least have 4 -5 star green speed boots. i personally think that is better. once you have enough boots you can switch. have you thought about that '??
I'm thinking I'm still low to mid game? Ive only just been able to beat level 20 dungeons, so seems unlikely I am going to be able to beat them with less than 5 real champs..
Hey ASH , I need help with masteris champions. Support masteris charged focus increase ACC by 20 when champ has no skills on cooldown. For example I have Armiger with cooldown on A2 skill lay to rest. Do I get 20 acc on A1 skill Riposte or not? Thanks men you help so much with your advice for beginners.
I want to say it's somewhat situational, but more Elhain than Heiress. Heiress is nice for Avenger passive. Had an idea to stick heiress in retal' set and try to stack the procs up, however don't do this the abilities won't work like that, one will override the other, so instead of proccing 2 attacks Avenger/Counterattack, you will only get one or the other.

Just started playing 3 weeks ago, bought into the 2.99 and .99 deals a few times, grabbed 1 9.99 deal, and just f2p otherwise. Started with Kael as many have. Got a few ancient and void shards running challenges, quests, campaign, dungeons, etc., and during the 2x events and 10x events as of recent I popped 'em. I now have 4-6 epics, several rares I've upgraded to 4 stars, etc., but managed to pull Kael, Elhein, Ursela, and Miscreated Monster to 50 with full ascendence, or 1 shy of full on those and most rares I boosted to 4 stars, but still trying to figure things out...like looking at "recommended gear" and either using that template, or looking in My armory for comparable gear which may have a slight reduction of one bonus when paired, or 4 pieced, and then adding 2 - 4 of the basic recommended depending on if I have all armor slots covered before hand or if I still have openings. Been running most dungeons on lvl 7-9 aside from a few keeps for potions..just recently made it through lvl 6 or 7 of spider, but the rest arent too bad. Only major issue is that all of My top end characters are of the magic affinity aside from 1 void so far...khatun in another few days yet, but just pulled a few interesting possibilities Sunday which may prove handy with the right team composition.
Ash still unconvinced using dungeons to **speed** farm is **fast**. Can you let us know the frequency you can churn out 60's using this method? Because IMO if it takes more than 1wk for a 60, then I wouldn't call it fast and it certainly isn't the fastest. Campaign (Brutal 12x3) is the best as it makes use of the XP bonus and the Raid Card bonus. 1) Invest in a campaign farmer 2) maximise the number of champion slots. 3) Grind on XP bonus days and or 2x summon events (think of all the 3 stars youre about to get) 4) Use an auto clicker (otherwise, Use the Edit Queue option for grinding level 1's) 5) ... NB: These days I level 60's in batch. i.e. 3-4 at a time and I upgrade them on 2x Summon events as well as coordinating with Champion Training Tournaments.
Ash is pretty bad at FTP and grinding, took him over two months to get his FTP account his first level 60. I like Ash, I like his vids, but it is more entertainment then informational. I mean.... He bought an exp boost with gems with a FTP account..... like wtf are you doing. Can do a 6 star champ once a week, but after 25-30 champs there does come a point where you need to focus on gear and stop leveling stuff just to level stuff.
@@sirenspew Yes. Currently I'm working on FW and filling my teams out with 60's. Once I do that I can revise. I'm certainly factoring in gearing and the silver requirement for upgrading gear these days. So typically some combination of Campaign (XP) - FK (Gear) - Spider (Silver - Upgrading gear).
Here's a problem I'm experiencing lving my champions up. I'm pretty stuck getting them to lv 60. I've pretty much have to wait till I get the free 5 star chickens (pretty much over a month of waiting) in order to get my champs to 60. And I can't afford to buy more (F2P) I've been thinking of just maxing my Sparring pit and just get them ready to ascend and sacrifice later
I get that. I struggled with the same thing. I find it's key to get comfortable deciding what champions you are okay with sacrificing. Commons or uncommon are easiest but I also do rares which are terrible or ones which I have a fully booked copy to keep so I don't feel guilty sacrificing them. I then just slowly level and rank them up in training pits or in campaign when I have an xp boost. Try to save rank ups of higher tiers for champ training events.

the exp is enough to level them from lvl 1 to 50 and then from lvl 1 to 60 even. I often don´t even use a "bossslayer" anymore. good champions with good gear on and good abilities can do the mino themselves as soon as they have some levels. especially champions that are good vs clanboss are also good vs mino.

This was one of the huge mistakes I made when I started playing. Not recognizing what my team needed. for example all the content creators was raving about warmaiden for new accounts and I had a war Maiden so I decided to invest in her. That would have been all good and very smart to do for a new player if that new player on day one didn't open a sacred shard and get ghostborn out of it. Now Ward Maiden is a great champion but obviously as you know ghost born does everything she does just better LOL
I hear so many people talking about getting your first guy to 60 as fast as you can. I finally got one of mine to 60 after a few months. IMO there is something really wrong with the game if that is the goal for a new player. It totally takes the fun out of the game and just makes it more of a job. I had a lot more fun trying to combine different guys to beat stages of a dungeon than just leveling up a crap ton of food.

Only bugs when your placing on PC, no bugs on a movie device with nasty specs. But what Drew me to this game was the Crossplay between PC and Mobile, never been done like this before so this game really was revolutionary the people who don't like it because of Turn based play, and also the ability of Auto Play, it sounds stupid to many people, and it seemed stupid to me too until I started playing. I said to myself "ya know what , I'm gonna ignore when people say it's pathetic because of the Auto option. And I'm just gonna play the Game and find out for myself weather it was garbage it not. I'm a Beta Tester, that's my main profession, I was 1 out of 2000 people that was picked to test the Call of Duty Mobile Alpha, it was like almost 6 months Before the Beta was made available to myself and several others and the last month of the Beta was open I think but I tried the game out, and I started to love it because it's like building a unit and they just get stronger and stronger every time, the customization, the animations are phenomenal; I give myself watching it even if it's on Auto okay; but listen for everyone who's doesn't understand. It takes an incredible amount of skill to successfully build a team that can rank on the Leaderboards
this helped a lot, I got lucky and pulled 2 apothecary's from uncommon mystery shards and one Soulbond Bowyer from it. Imma lvl some of em up and add to my Avengers squad

Farming campaign is perfect for food but if you plan to build a champion solo mino and have your build champ getting the scrolls and xp even when it's dead will lvl build champ fast

I started playing this half arsed almost 5 months ago. Really wish I took the time to watch your videos first. One could not have made more mistakes than I did, using epic books on rares, feeding valuable rares, wasting skill books on crap champs, trying to make a FW team for every faction. I feel like i'm staring over now albeit with some good champs.

Ash an't go one video without mentioning Scyl of the drakes.
It did fit here well, though. It is good advice for any new player to not spend ANY legendary books until you have enough in store to fully book Scyl of the Drakes on the day you get her (well, unless you pull one of the very few universally useful Top Tier Legendaries that would give you an equally great push right away). Scyl is awesome and will help a midgame player out almost everywhere in the game, but she needs those cooldown reductions on her A2 and her Revive to be fully efficient.

You can get one rate book a week on average from the bazaar. It helps for those really good rates to help book them out. I played five months before mastering my first unit. I'm now running minotaur nearly everyday trying to get masteries for my go to teams.

I invested in the Achak the Wendarin & Mordecai combo because I got them together. They have had so much value in several areas of the game. I made them both support & tank trees and put Mordecai in a regen set. They're top tier on Spider, Nether Spider, and Frost Spider. They work good on Ice Golem and Minotaur too. I think people really overlook Mordecai's turn meter control having tunnel vision for his aoe HP Burn. His attack up is a huge bonus too. For a 2 champ tandem they have huge value!
I pulled a Rae and she has synergy with this combo too with the aoe freeze, but Graybeard who's free to farm has that same synergy. Drexthar who's also free has huge synergy as well.
Duplicate/Books farming solution: When you get a duplicate champion, you can have the option to sell it for books, based on the champion rarity. Ex: 20 books for rare duplicate, 10 books for Epics and 5 books for Legendaries
Other option hould be to extract books from duplicates with silver.
So i tried this game about a month ago, now ive become kinda hooked. I quit playing my switch altogether in favor of raid. Only money i spent was on the level 30 pack because it was just a great deal. Other than that il remain mostly ftp. I know il never be top tier in arena or competitive against top players but its still a fun game. The wife and i are playing it so il just try and out do her. Its a shame i cant battle her one on one. That would be cool

me, personally, while doing the brogni fusion, i set my alarm to get some fragments. i set my alarm, woke up, didnt press snooze or have a backup and ended up falling back asleep. i missed my fragments and couldnt get the rest of the shards i wanted.

What do people do with their common grey champions? Do you bother getting them to 10 and ranking up or just sacrifice them for XP?

My main team is mainly survival ( skullcrusher + rearguard sergent + apothecary) and slamming ( kael + saito) . I use them in every dungeon and as well as clan boss.

Finally got Scyl O.T. Drakes. First and only Legendary so far. Got her to 50 and will be the next 60. But I got no books. I haven't won any Legendary books. Have her fully ascended and basic scroll masteries complete. I am going to target he for advanced scrolls and will test a couple of combinations. Bellower is maxed on 6 star ascended and has all advanced scrolls. Want Kael and Captain Tamila who are fully ascended 6 star.

Hey ash, i want to do what you adviced but this tournaments kept us busy in that particular area rather than doing a whole lot to other things such as farming in campaign, or potions keeps, or scrolls. Hence, spending our energy and gems to just one area coz of course we want to win the rewards.
Can someone please give a step-by-step on how to buy masteries? I have looked everywhere, including the gem shop, and I can’t find that option on my account. Thanks.
Go to your masteries and click on one it will pop up a box that says get all masteries :)

Great uncommon champ like armiger and shieldguard should you want to can also be leveled and fully book easily since both are easily obtainable in market(shieldguard can also be obtained in that desert stage alongside another really good rare, warmaiden) so dont waste a single books to fully max their skills

Hey Hotash; Do we need more than 12 of anyone faction? The only place I can see that we do, is for our tag team fulfillments. Getting epic books, only after grinding an entire event, is a fix worth mentioning to Plarium. The only embarrassing moment was when I ask other higher up clan mems a question that is newbish. And when are you gonna make an ash tank top line????

I started with Elhain and I'm struggling on hard. I have corpse collector, shaman, warmadian, sniper4star, and pain keeper these are my main champions. Not sure how this team is and not sure what a balanced team looks like so kind of ask about balanced team tips.

I just started playing. I don't know what I'm doing lol. I got Ronda on day seven which was yesterday. I got a brew potion that leveled her all the way to 60 which was nice but now it's taking forever to level up the other champions. I have wythir, Kael, Deacon, Athel, warpriest, i just got Galek, Genbo and Atur. which one should i level to 60?
I got a Dark Athel early on in the game, and in a day or so I'm going to get another copy of her as a log in reward. Should I use that 2nd one as food to increase one of the abilities? Or keep her as a 2nd hero to level up?
Can you make a video on support champs?? I'm currently building quargon and apothecary and thenesil, I have been using shaman and warpriest. Debating in keeping those to or feeding to kael... I have spent time building and BOOKING them to 5 star and ascended so I feel bad throwing them away. Im level 34
How much energy does it take to farm one full set of scrolls? Provided they all go onto one champion.

I get max chest from several clan bosses every day... each day I get 6 chances to pull a book from CB... I call that farming... especially for a resource that lasts so well
you tell ppl to farm 12-3 because of the slight silver bonus it gives. While that is true , a lot of newcomers in my clan 4 example struggle to have speed boots. I told them to instead of 12-3 farm 12-6 because it makes sure that you will at least have 4 -5 star green speed boots. i personally think that is better. once you have enough boots you can switch. have you thought about that '??

Which champ is better to build: Heiress vs. Elhain?
I want to say it's somewhat situational, but more Elhain than Heiress. Heiress is nice for Avenger passive. Had an idea to stick heiress in retal' set and try to stack the procs up, however don't do this the abilities won't work like that, one will override the other, so instead of proccing 2 attacks Avenger/Counterattack, you will only get one or the other.
If Elhain is your starter then her without question. If Kael is your starter, then neither.

On FTP epic books do get much easier later on the major issue is Lego books, FTP players will maybe get one or 2 a month I'd lucky on nm or unm
Just started playing 3 weeks ago, bought into the 2.99 and .99 deals a few times, grabbed 1 9.99 deal, and just f2p otherwise. Started with Kael as many have. Got a few ancient and void shards running challenges, quests, campaign, dungeons, etc., and during the 2x events and 10x events as of recent I popped 'em. I now have 4-6 epics, several rares I've upgraded to 4 stars, etc., but managed to pull Kael, Elhein, Ursela, and Miscreated Monster to 50 with full ascendence, or 1 shy of full on those and most rares I boosted to 4 stars, but still trying to figure things out...like looking at "recommended gear" and either using that template, or looking in My armory for comparable gear which may have a slight reduction of one bonus when paired, or 4 pieced, and then adding 2 - 4 of the basic recommended depending on if I have all armor slots covered before hand or if I still have openings. Been running most dungeons on lvl 7-9 aside from a few keeps for potions..just recently made it through lvl 6 or 7 of spider, but the rest arent too bad. Only major issue is that all of My top end characters are of the magic affinity aside from 1 void so far...khatun in another few days yet, but just pulled a few interesting possibilities Sunday which may prove handy with the right team composition.
How long did this actually take, that's all I am worried about

Can you let us know the frequency you can churn out 60's using this method? Because IMO if it takes more than 1wk for a 60, then I wouldn't call it fast and it certainly isn't the fastest.
Campaign (Brutal 12x3) is the best as it makes use of the XP bonus and the Raid Card bonus.
1) Invest in a campaign farmer
2) maximise the number of champion slots.
3) Grind on XP bonus days and or 2x summon events (think of all the 3 stars youre about to get)
4) Use an auto clicker (otherwise, Use the Edit Queue option for grinding level 1's)
5) ...
NB: These days I level 60's in batch. i.e. 3-4 at a time and I upgrade them on 2x Summon events as well as coordinating with Champion Training Tournaments.
Ash is pretty bad at FTP and grinding, took him over two months to get his FTP account his first level 60. I like Ash, I like his vids, but it is more entertainment then informational. I mean.... He bought an exp boost with gems with a FTP account..... like wtf are you doing.
Can do a 6 star champ once a week, but after 25-30 champs there does come a point where you need to focus on gear and stop leveling stuff just to level stuff.
@@sirenspew Yes. Currently I'm working on FW and filling my teams out with 60's. Once I do that I can revise. I'm certainly factoring in gearing and the silver requirement for upgrading gear these days. So typically some combination of Campaign (XP) - FK (Gear) - Spider (Silver - Upgrading gear).

Here's a problem I'm experiencing lving my champions up. I'm pretty stuck getting them to lv 60. I've pretty much have to wait till I get the free 5 star chickens (pretty much over a month of waiting) in order to get my champs to 60. And I can't afford to buy more (F2P) I've been thinking of just maxing my Sparring pit and just get them ready to ascend and sacrifice later
I get that. I struggled with the same thing. I find it's key to get comfortable deciding what champions you are okay with sacrificing. Commons or uncommon are easiest but I also do rares which are terrible or ones which I have a fully booked copy to keep so I don't feel guilty sacrificing them. I then just slowly level and rank them up in training pits or in campaign when I have an xp boost. Try to save rank ups of higher tiers for champ training events.
Man those farmeble champions are SO rare!
