"The Enterprise Incident" was my second favorite episode for the third season of Star Trek: TOS. My favorite episode of the third season was "All Our Yesterdays," This episode was my top fifth favorite of all Star Trek: TOS series. A great story with time travel via library disks.
Thank you for another awesome video and yes i would say this is one of there better shows it had action mystery and a little humor all rolled in to one again thank you for the video
... I've always wondered that when humans had to alter themselves to infiltrate a Romulan ship / planet did the humans also have their internal organs reconfigured to that of a Romulan? And how did Data fool the sophisticated scanners of the Romulans in the episodes "Reunification parts 1 and 2" ...
It was a great choice casting Linville as the Romulan commander. Great actress and brought gravitas to her character. It would have been amazing to have her return for TNG. It's a shame that they couldn't put that episode on hold until schedules were compatible.
Fun fact: The USS Pueblo is still actively commissioned in the US Navy to prevent North Korea from being able to legally seize it even though it's stuck in a museum.
Loved Joanna's portrayal. As you said, not only was she sexy in the role but she had a commanding presence (no pun intended). Love your videos. You should do this for a living 😁🖖🏼
It is the best and should had been the show opener for season 3. Also it is good to see Linville's daughter play the romulan commander in the two part episode finale of Star Trek Continues as TOS.
I think this is a good episode *regardless* of which season it appeared. But it definitely stands out among the offerings of Season 3. And you know what they say: Ain't no death grip like a *Vulcan* death grip.
This is one my favourite episode in series three it's has really good edge of your seat twist and turns, when i saw it frist i really thought the romulan commander had trun spock against jim the episode was really well done it was choc full of good action and drama and skimpy outfits were fun to i injoyed it and these episode of back trek there really well put too keep up the good work.😎😁
This is one of my favorite episodes! An insane Kirk, a cold dispassionate Spock, and a large Romulan doohicky to save a surrounded Enterprise, and the Federation. Now all I need to do is get rid of this earworm, "What do you do with an earless sailor."
Another excellent video... On a side note, I do not understand the appearance of Romulans. You see a different look for the Klingons, starting with TMP and I have read the explanation. But, the Romulans having direct ancestry with the Vulcans. Their shared likeness was even an issue in "Balance of Terror". Then in TNG, you see the difference in their foreheads.
It is possible given the later explanation we happened to see all the Romulan Captains happening to be smooth head "Northerners" essentially a racial difference. It is just by sheer coincidence we only saw Northerners as the captains and first officers, about four people over the three seasons IIRC. All the other Romulans we saw were below the position of first officer conveniently having helmets on that covered their brows as well as their ears which happened to be the same shape as TNG Romulan brow ridges. I guess how long such physical differences can appear among the Romulans depends on how long ago the schism between Vulcans and the Romulans was.
Yes it was one of my favorite I know the episodes BUT not sure that season they are in. I WOULD SAY out of 76 episodes, I really like 25 of them that are ones I will watch many times.
Absolutely incredible episode. Why DIDN'T the Romulans do an autopsy? Would Bones have done an autopsy on the Romulan Commander if she croaked on board the Enterprise? Probably not eh? I wonder what her name actually was. Spike? Mickey?
I know that will you deal with direct cannon information and trivia, but I thought it'd be worth pointing out the Star Trek continues fan film To Boldly Go part one featured Joanna Linville daughter Amy Rydell reprising her mother's role and the resemblance is quite remarkable
One of the episodes I tend to rewatch. While it would have been interesting to see the romulan Cmdr again in TNG, I have no complaints about the Cmdr in that episode.
As someone who's old enough to have watched Star Trek TOS when it originally aired, I'll state this. Even the worst episodes of any season of TOS were far better than almost all of the mind numbing slop on TV at the time 🖖
Not only is this the best episode of Season 3, it is one of the best Star Trek TOS, episodes, over all. Easily i the top ten. Only a few others this season make it into the upper 40 rated episodes. The rest are easily in the bottom 20.
Joanna Linville she is beautiful and mesmerizing as the Romulan commander, too bad you can't hear her name when she whispered It to Spock and it's very beautiful name and rare.
I hope everyone who sees this video understands Harlan Ellison's true contribution to Star Trek, which was to nearly destroy it. Harlan valued his personal glory (which is highly questionable, but you can't judge art by the degraded values of the artist) above the welfare of hundreds of other people. Yes, Harlan's script was changed. Yes, Harlan won a political battle in the form of an award for his original story. But that is the TV business. How many people and their families depended on Star Trek? Hundreds. Look at the big seven. Nimoy had NEVER had a steady acting job in his entire life prior to Star Trek and for the first time ever was able to finance homes and automobiles and not worry about where his childrens' next meal was coming from. Shatner was very similiar and the rest were in an even less stable financial and career status. But TV shows do not exist on actors alone and there were many more working tirelessly towards the success of the show. Harlan purposely bad mouthed the show because he was petty. His pettiness harmed others. This is not the Star Trek way. You could say Harlan single handedly laid the groundwork for the demise of TOS, but that cannot be solely blamed on a single individual, but if you could blame it on one other than Gene Roddenberry, it would be Harlan. But Star Trek did not die and burst forth from the ashes in many new forms and guises. Why? Because Star Trek is about working together for a better future and Trekkers worked together and created that better future. How many doctors are out there right now practicing medicine because of McCoy or Crusher or even the Emergency Medical Hologram? How many leaders today were inspired by Kirk and Picard and Sisko and the many officers of Starfleet seen making decisions for the good of the many? Fiction is so powerful that in real life, the Star Trek way overcomes the greed of the few and the demands of the one.
Well it was two of the then biggest egos in scifi having a measuring competition unfortunately Roddenberry wasn't as big then as Harlan was and he was pissed that Roddenberry had his script ghost written in to a entirely different story. Roddenberry was a secret ass to more than one writer Ellison was the first with any credentials to publicly come out about what the TOS writing room was like.
Yes, a very good episode. Thing about canon, though, is that when you go into the future you can be organic and break new ground. Into the past, not so much.
I absolutely hate that they added the bird of prey in the remastered version. It makes no logical sense that the Romulans would be running such dissimilar ships in what is essentially a deep space response force. The raptor markings on the bottom of the D-7s on the other hand, were a great improvement.
Love the channel! Buuuuut.... “Died; causes unknown.” I feel injects controversy and you should have just said passed away. Continue to give Mr. Donner dignity for someone who contributed to such a memorable episode.
@@TriAngulumAudioStudios , Well, being a psychologist, I very may be over analyzing. Lol That being said, that one line in the vid stood out to me. Keep up the great work on the channel.
The fandom was gatekeeping cannon as it was being written. That's kind of funny It must of made TNG a shock when they actually started to establish some of the cannon we use today. We probably had fans complaining that TNG broke cannon because it was establishing canon that didn't exist during the original series and the cartoon.
I was wondering where all these cannons were you were speaking of, then I realized you meant 'canon'! If you can't speak or write the language, please don't try.
One of my favorites and Ms. Linville's daughter reprised her role for the "Star Trek; Continues" Fan series!
Yes! They look do much alike....I wish that would have been mentioned here. Great video and episode!
No WONDER she bore such a striking resemblance!!! (Just like Chris Doohan playing Scotty in the same series!)
At least Spock got to rip at Kirk for having Vulcan " ears " at the end.
Also at the end, that turbo lift takes its time going between two decks.
One of my favourite episodes. BTW, non-canon information as the Romulan D-7 called the "Stormbird".
1 of the BEST eps of all TOS!
My favourite TOS episode! 😄 Thank you TriAngulum Audio Studios! Very much enjoyed. 👍

thank you very much for this nice 51- Back Trek- Behind The Scenes- The Enterprise Incident

Her daughter played the character in the final episode of Star Trek Continues. Astounding likeness.
DA..DA..DA..DA..love the soundtrack on this episode😁 & the episode itself🖖🏾
i love learning about the drama and history of these episodes. 405th like
Fun fact: The USS Pueblo is still actively commissioned in the US Navy to prevent North Korea from being able to legally seize it even though it's stuck in a museum.
Isn't the USS Arizona still actively commissioned as well, despite being submerged in Pearl Harbor?
I loved it when you said she was trying to hide her tal shiar 😂😂😂😂😂
The Tal Shiar should not be seen, but by a very select few. None shall mention the Tal Shiar under penalty of death.
Loved Joanna's portrayal. As you said, not only was she sexy in the role but she had a commanding presence (no pun intended). Love your videos. You should do this for a living 😁🖖🏼

Most definitely 1 of my favourite Star Trek TOS episodes & the Romulan Commander is really Hot
Yep'ers you could say that she was one of the first MILF's!!! 😍👌

I always learn somthing here o back trek , thank you
good episode!!! Linville was Sexy as a Romulan Commander

7:01 ok...so this little tidbit needs to be noted by the people over at WRG...romulan McCoy needs to be added to Star Trek timelines now...
I would like to have seen a Klingon and Roumlan team up episode. It would tie up some loos ends in Trek canon.
I absolutely hate that they added the bird of prey in the remastered version. It makes no logical sense that the Romulans would be running such dissimilar ships in what is essentially a deep space response force.
The raptor markings on the bottom of the D-7s on the other hand, were a great improvement.
Joanna’s daughter reprised her mother’s iconic role in fan film series Star Trek Continues series finale.
I was listening to audio only and i could have sworn the Romulan commander was Janeway.
McCoy as a Romulan ? That accent would be hard to explain.
It also never says in the episode that the alliance gave the Klingons the cloaking device
Love the channel!

@@TheHeroRises LOL That DOES seem to be the standard stereotypical type action :P LOL And thank you :)
I thought the "alliance" was due cause the original romulan ship model was lost.
Nope, that's just another Fan Myth!
The more I watch these videos, the more I wish somebody would do the M*A*S*H series in a similar fashion.
