- Video Diary | Daily Vlog | Sat 3rd Sept
We start the week still at South Bay Holiday Park in Brixham. Glenn’s mum is still with us so we take a short drive to Coleton Fishacre, I love strolling around the gardens.
Video Diary | Daily Vlog | Sun 4th Sept
Glenn takes his mum back and I stay at the caravan. I go for a refreshing walk into Brixham. Glenn buys two new hats.
My thinking is really unhelpful and it is getting me down. I share my thoughts as I try and work out how I live my best life.
Video Diary | Daily Vlog | Mon 5th Sept
Both Glenn and I spend the day working. I buy a rope necklace course and practise the knots with a bit of old rope.
Video Diary | Daily Vlog | Tues 6th Sept
I got for a trek to Man Sands and enjoy sitting on a quiet secluded beach. I have such a lovely day and it really cheers me up.
Video Diary | Daily Vlog | Wed 7th Sept
Glenn travels down to Devon after work.
Video Diary | Daily Vlog | Thur 8th Sept
The washing machine stops working and I visit the laundrette on site before our friends, Louise and Dave from @narrowboatchangingpace, arrive. Louise brings me a bottle of Hendersons Relish from Sheffield. I can’t wait to try it.
We hear the unexpected news that Queen Elizabeth II had passed away.
Video Diary | Daily Vlog | Fri 9th Sept
Due to the news that the Queen had passed away I need to work in the morning. Glenn, Dave and Louise go out for the morning and then in the afternoon we went to Brixham. We saw a seal in the harbour.

I watch you Vlog every week. I stumbled across you both when you lived on Nutshell and was amazed at your lifestyle, and quite envious. At our age 76 & 77 years old just a bit too late for us.
You seem to have lost your way and I can’t understand why. You have so much but you seem to be striving for something else/better. You have a lovely husband and family. You have your health, Home, holiday home & narrow boat. Maybe you need to put your energy into what you have instead of striving for something ‘better’. ‘Be thankful for what you have’. Sorry to be so blunt but I was so upset to hear your thought’s. Please cheer up and count your blessings,
We want to let you know how sorry we are about the Queen. I remember watching her Coronation...as a child but old enough to enjoy it so much. We have been glued to the TV for the last couple of days. PS I am nearly 80. Bonnie in AZ
Thanks Bonnie, the Queen has had an impact on all our lives, I remember the Queens silver jubilee, I think I was around 8 at the time and I remember the street party really well.
Thank you. As an expat I look forward to your blog every week. You are a good wife, daughter, mother and nana and anything else you do is a bonus. Do not pressure yourself, you are enough ❤
Even doing little things in life, in our town makes a difference. You are an awesome grandmother..WHAT YOU DO FOR ALLLL US...IS THAT YOU BRIGHTEN OUR DAY. YOU GET US COOKING..AND WALKING.. YOU ARE ALREADY GIVING BACK TO THE WORLD..YOU ARE ALREADY GIVING BACK. BY Being With US .BEING A GREAT. FRIEND TO YOUR FRIENDS.. A TRUE FRIEND...YOU ARE ALREADY GIVING BACK TI THE WORLD AND DON'T REALIZE IT.
Lisa and Glenn: be kind to yourselves. You bring a lot of kindness to others, and you are the only constant a lot of us have during the week, no matter what is going on in our lives, which has been a very difficult year, I have lost my three oldest friends in the past year, I know where and what I’ll be doing on my Saturday night. I cannot thank you enough. Janet
very magical succulents..amazing
Lisa! When you do your best that has to be enough! When we do too much with our lives we get overloaded and life controls us in a way that isn't at all healthy or as you say meaningful. Plus if we try to take on too many tasks something will go undone! Loved to see the rain at the caravan! Lisa please tell your Mum hello from the other side of the Pond! Mark in Colorado! I too am deeply sad to hear about the Queen!
Hi Mark, hope you are well. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, I agree, when life gets overloaded it isn’t healthy. I will tell mum that you said hello, she often asks after you x
great hat Glenn..you look dashing
Just truly than you for sharing your lives with us.
Hi Lisa and Glenn, I have to say you both definitely have a meaningful life, and a busy one at that. Life can be tranquil or hectic. That walk to the beach Lisa was lovely, just having that quiet time to yourself and connecting with nature, that is meaningful. You don't have to prove anything to anyone, just enjoy life, don't worry about yesterday,it's gone, savour the here and now, that's what counts. You have lovely friends. Take care and stop giving yourself a hard time. Sending hugs for you both. 🤗
Thank you Lisa and Glen,,xx
Thanks for your weekly videos Lisa and Glen. Just be you. We don’t expect anything more. Great comment from Rob M by the way.
Lisa, I stumbled onto your videos not to long ago. I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy watching you and listening to you. I understand when you talk about a more meaningful life, but I would like to say this. You are a beautiful soul, you are so positive and upbeat and just such a beautiful person. You bring so much joy by sharing these videos. I just want to tell you that I for one appreciate you and all you do. You lift up those of us that cant get out as much or do things like you do. Kind of living through your eyes. Again, Thank you. Condolences on the loss of the Queen. Best wishes always from Florida.
I love your videos. They make me smile. Thank you so much xc
I'm so happy that you were honest about how you were feeling instead of covering it up with bubbliness that isn't real. There's no need to be anything other than who you are. And it is NOT a cop out to take a day off of all of the frenetic activity to rest and self care.
Please just live your lives as they are and don't do things so that you have something special to video for us. We care about who you are, not what you do. Remember that we are human BEINGS, not human DOINGS.
Stay safe and well.
Hi we watch you ever week.but this week I have say something you have a lovely husband lovely kids grand children.2 holiday homes 2 cars a nice house and lot of frends jobs.dint think of what you want enjoy what you have.a lot of people would love half of what you have.x
Hello Max, I understand what you are saying. I am extremely lucky. I was trying to say that I feel I should be of better service to the world. It’s not that I want more - it’s that I want to do and be more so I can do better in the world. I’m not expressing myself very well but please know that I count my blessings often.
Thank you for getting back to me.keep up the good work we always look forward to Sunday morning with you 2.x
Lisa….lighten up and tell yourself you’re doing just fine. There’s joy in every day, find yours. You can’t do it all as you’ve discovered. And that’s perfectly fine. You’ll find your sweet spot in life, and it’s just at your fingertips. I believe that.
Lisa, just remember your kindness and good deeds (no matter how small) are felt by those immediately around you. Then by those around them and so on like a ripple effect in the ocean. You'll never really know how far reaching those ripples will go. Condolences on the loss of your lovely Queen who had many far reaching ripples in her lifetime to be proud of. All the best from Missouri.
Hi Clovetta, you are right, we never know how far those ripples reach xx
Love catching up with you every week. If you ever come to Australia we would love to have you stay with us and show you the sights of Queensland. I know you have a huge following here in Oz who would love to do the same. Your vlogs give joy to so many people worldwide. Don't underestimate the positive impact you ARE having on people everywhere.
I feel for you Lisa thank you for being so honest and sharing your dilemma. Remember your motto Be Kind and that applies to not only others but yourself. Life has many roads and sometimes we need to choose the ones that bring us contentment and joy. You and Glenn are amazing and your vlogs bring much joy. So sad that our lovely queen has passed like you Friday was spent adjusting to the news. Sending you a big hug and take care of each other xx
I will refrain form making my own comment and fully agree with with this comment💜keep doing what you’re doing💜
Hi Ali, thank you so much for your kind words xxx
Thanks Lynda xxx
I really enjoy your vlog as I always do.so please you both had a lovely time with your friends.it was so sad that the queen died. 💕
I have days like you had but I have started reading a book and taking advice from that every night you write you write 3 things you are grateful for. ( I can find negative in everything I do ) Glad you work up feeling better and well done for getting onto that beach it looks beautiful x
Hi Michele, that is a great idea, thanks for sharing xx
@@ALifeFullofMeaning I'm struggling with stress and anxiety which is effect my blood pressure but I am trying to but in place things from the book x
Practicing an ‘attitude of gratitude’ is the secret of true happiness IMHO!
Hi Lisa and Glenn,
It is so nice of you both to come on and share videos every week, I’m sure the people who watch you appreciate what you do and do your best to make the videos very enjoyable, I wouldn’t worry about not doing enough in your videos I think you and Glenn do great thank you for sharing all your thoughts your feelings your family your friends on your videos and I’m sure you do have a meaningful life, please don’t ever think you don’t do enough because you do thank you💐 I don’t normally comment on your video but I thought this week I would I think what you fit into your life is brilliant so thank you again .
The things that make you happy.
I see it like this, I have favourite meals and favourite cigars. But I wouldn't like to have either every day, I enjoy them more because I don't do them often. My favourite meal I don't even have it every month, maybe every couple of months and my favourite cigars I only have at Christmas. It keeps them special.
Other things come into this. I love to walk the North Yorkshire coastline. Maybe do that once a year, I don't want it to be over familiar.
I think that might be the key with yours's, that you don't have to give up anything you love, but you can space them out to make room for other things. That space will actually improve the pleasure you get from those things you love.
This is profound! Thank you for sharing Rob x
Great comment and absolutely true.
Lisa is on a season shift. Fall is here and she is restless..A time of change..and you two. just roll with it and like surf on top of waves. Maybe a few fall canal boat trips will help Reset the joy button.
I have read a lot of the comments and we all think your both beautifull people and we really enjoy your company But with out hurting your feelings you don't half burn the candle at both ends Just please realise you have each other and should make the best of that I have just stepped back quite a bit from a 100 and one things from helping family and friends to looking to what I have and of course my lovely husband Pack up a picnic a flask and just enjoy fresh air if you no what I mean As you can be here one day gone the next hope I haven effend you surtanly did not mean to x
Bless you both!! I, for one, thank you for taking us on your weekly journeys, through the ups and downs of life. I have no doubt that you and Glenn will find your “life full of meaning” there is meaning in every chapter of our lives 😊
Thanks for watching, I love that - there is meaning in every chapter of our lives ❤️
I really enjoy your blogs you always seem really bubbly sometimes life can be difficult but you cannot be all things to everyone, but the pleasure you give to people who watch your blogs every week is more than enough to contribute something to the world. . i think its time to give you and Glen some quality time together and try not to over analyse everything . You are both lovely people so no need to say anything else. love and hugs coming your way xxxxxxxx
I have been feeling very sad since our lovely Queen passed away but your video has helped cheer me up ...thankyou ❤
Oh Lisa, how very dare you say is it like Worcester sauce lol still loving the vlogs xxxx
Hey Lisa and Glen thanks for your vlog this week cheered me up abit it's been a very sad week this week with the queens passing take care see you both next week xx
This week's news has been very sad , and we relate the sad news to our own losses and feelings of grief. King Charles is dealing with his mother's loss whilst having to take on the role of King ASAP, it's hard for us regular folk to wrap our head around how quick the process is . On a lighter note great hack for the dryer Glenn and how doesn't love a bit of rain on a caravan roof ,so cozy x Have a lovely week xx
Lisa i think that if we make our selves happy that is all that matters. the world doesnt really care if we are happy or not ,just my own observation. find your grove ,nitch or what ever you wish to call it . travel ,vlog ,visit with friends ,a job ya love ,family this is what matters as long as you are happy . your important as long as your happy i dont think it is a selfish act to feel good about yourself. the world will right its self all on its own some day .lol . just do your best and smile . love and bessings to you and glen 🥰
Hi Glenn and Lisa.
Hi Ed 👋
@@ALifeFullofMeaning herro
I appreciate your honesty. Perhaps everyone"s emotions are all topsy turvy now Lisa. I find walking does the trick and short meditations.
Hi Lisa and Glenn, my sincerest condolences on the passing of Queen Elizabeth. There is of course the sadness of losing someone but then comes the uncertainty of what’s next.
Lisa I understand your little bout of depression, I’ve been there where it’s hard to be in your own skin. Glad a good nights sleep helped. Really enjoyed watching the seal fish. Seems silly, I never would have imagined that many fish that close to shore . Sending hugs.
like the Dylan song. "The times are a changing ". and now the chaos of King Charles. im sad about the Queen. So lots of changes .and .you can think a tiny bit about Christmas. that always brings joy
We look forward to your blogs each week. You do a great service to family, friends and people around the World.
We have a Holiday chalet in Dartmouth but still you have shown us places nearby we didn’t know about.
If you are still in the area on Tuesday this week Widecombe Fair is a great place to go. Get there early. 8.30
All the best
Adrian and Geraldine
I keep trying to stay up but don’t think I’ll make it. Good morning/night to all.
Night Shannon
Hi Lisa thank you for all your vlogs .
You are doing amazing job ,you have dealt with covid etc.
Love your vlogs ,love your boat would love to see you do a few months on the boat trip and you seem more relaxed
Here in America we offer our condolences to the people of Great Britain for the loss of Queen Elizabeth II. Our flags are being flown at half staff as a sign of our country's respect for her. Be kind to yourself, Lisa, and enjoy the journey you are on.
Ok waiting
you are kind to respect her not wanting to be filmed.
Don't judge yourselves on what you did not do, instead evaluate what you did do did it meet your values of a life full of meaning if the answer is no give it up or take a break from that thing that has become a chore.
Lisa & Glenn. Can I have your thoughts on Billings Aquadome whether it be on here or a pm. We brought a widebeam in Liverpool and need to put it somewhere. Billings mooring fees are great but we know nothing about it. The reason I ask is because it's located near you I think? Be ever so grateful. Thanks muchly.
Hi Howard, congratulations on purchasing your wide beam. Billing is close to us and personally I don’t mind it at all. Years ago we moored a cruiser there, and more recently, my daughter had a static caravan on the site. It sort of has (in years gone by) a bit of a bad reputation but all my experiences with Billing have been good. It is near the sewage works so it can be a bit sniffy at times but I would not have a problem with our boat being there. Hope that helps.
@@ALifeFullofMeaning Thanks Lisa. I really appreciate your thoughts. Have a wonderful weekend!
so a seal..or selkie !?!!
when weather like that i so worry about homeless animals..cats and dogs. poor things. so many thrown away by heartless owners
Hi Lisa, I'm only part way through, so maybe you reach a conclusion, but my thoughts on what to ditch. If they make you happy and they're making you money, can you get some paid help to do the bits that don't bring you joy? And, do we owe it to the world to do great things/the best you can do? I think you're talking about your purpose and it sounds like you're being called to fulfil it. Once you've worked out what it is - and I'm sure it's something to do with connection/community/conversation - you'll do it. You're doing great things already, though. Your weekly vlogs bring joy to many.x
Thanks Lesley, that all makes sense. I do think that my purpose is around connection, community and conversation. Things are slowly starting to clear in my head and hopefully I will learn how to bring that to the forefront x
@@ALifeFullofMeaning I'm on a very similar journey with you, and your videos are a weekly reminder to me. Thanks for what you're doing.x
Hi Glenn and my english Yaya from your aussie Yaya Kym, sending you both condolences on the sad sad passing of Our Queen, I loved her and respected her so much, she was my monarch and the world always felt better knowing she was there, always steadfast and true! Hi Kym, I haven’t forgotten that I owe you a letter! I hope you are well and life is good xxx
