Thank you so much for ALL of your video's! I'm attached to them like reality tv lol they have been extremely helpful!! I begin the BSN program this Fall and knowing what to wear and bring to orientation was so helpful!!! You have been so helpful!! I really enjoy all of your tips! I see you graduated, congrats!! If I have time I may start a blog about being in nursing school as a Mom and wife, I'm a mother of 3 and 5 year olds and my 10 year wedding anniversary is coming up this September!! So I have already figured out some ways to help my husband as he sends the kids off to school in the morning and also beginning meal plans for the week that he can heat up while I'm attending clinicals!! Again, I appreciate your videos, tips, ideas and experiences!!
You should get at least one or 2 backup penlights and the best ones for students are the ones that the battery is changable so you can be reusing them as well as a backup battery as I've had one die on me while using them. The disposable ones are good but I wouldn't rely on them much simply because they tend to die suddenly and if that is your only option you are in trouble as happened to me once. I've bought disposables but one big issue with them is that they die on you whether you're using them at the time or not, very weak shelf life whereas the reusable ones you can just change the batteries and if you run out the hospital usually have gift shops that sell batteries.
I'm planning on going to nursing school after I upgrade a couple of my classes/prerequisites and this video was really helpful for me! A lot of anxiety this is for me and this definitely eased some of the worries so thank you! Great video!
+Mrs. Torrie lebelesprit_ on ig are you referring to the ID holders or the ones with labs. ID holders I never used. But the one with labs on it definitely get, used it all the time
Theyre just little cards you can attach to your badge holder for reference. Heres a link. www.etsy.com/listing/254367077/comprehensive-horizontal-badge-card-set?gclid=Cj0KEQjwxLC9BRDb1dP8o7Op68IBEiQAwWggQLLWWJE1hCln_4THM3oUDl_2HaAcolRONDPRLH77fSAaAm0r8P8HAQ
I didn use a backpack, I used a thirty one bag. A few of my classmates used backpacks and very few used the rolling ones. I put my text on the iPad so didn't have to worry about carrying anything heavy other than my notebook.
Hello, I was just wondering do I have to be a RN then after experience can I switch to NP. I really want to be a NP but I heard you have to be a RN and after 2 years become a NP. Sorry if it's confusing. Love your videos x
Hey love. You absolutely have to be an RN first. I know that it is preferred that you have some clinical experience before applying to an NP program. However I have heard of online programs that allow you to apply to RN-MSN component and focus on NP. But I'm sure there will be a clinical component. Hope this answers your question!
Really enjoyed this video! Your friends hooked you up with cool things lol. I wanted to ask how were you during orientation. Did you just focus and stay to yourself, or did you talk to other when you could?
Thanks love for watching! I'm kind of a reserved person. I like to watch and assess things first before I put myself into situations. I don't remember talking to anyone unless they asked me a question. But do what feels right to you. Although I don't think it's good to be overly chatty, I feel like the instructors are always watching and it's more important to make a good impression than find friends. Plus, honestly the person you become friends with during orientation you may not like later once you see their work ethic! Hope this helps!!
For the most part I prefer to stay to myself and assess things first before I put myself into a situation. I don't remember talking to anyone unless they asked me a question. I think it's important to do what feels right to you, but I will say that I think instructors are always watching and you don't want to come off as super chatty or anything. Plus, honestly the person you may become friends with at first you may end up not liking due to their work ethic. But definitely get a number or two to reassure any questions you may have.
Thanks for responding! Honestly the reason I asked was because I'm the same way. I'm very reserved and don't let people in as easily, so I didn't want to come off antisocial . Sure if someone talks to me then I'll talk back to them or if someone sits next to me I will say hello. I'm just not big on talking so much to people I just met. I'm the same way at work. Like you said I'm there for myself & school not to make friends. You don't know how much this video motivated me to remember that and not care about if I make friends or not! I laughed out loud when you said how you are at clinicals because I'm just like that period lol.
I am attending an Associates Program and plan on enrolling in a BSN program ASAP! My school is pretty strict about disclosing information on social media, so unfortunately I can't say sorry.
Hello! What state are you attending school in? I am looking to get into nursing school, and it's hard to find a program in my area with evening hours. Great Vid :)
phoenixrose85 Hi love, sorry for the late reply. I attend school in NJ. Late night programs are very hard to find, the only ones I found were some accelerated programs but that wouldnt fit with my work schedule. Good luck searching, let me know how it goes!
Feisty_Azz_Feline 05 i know this is an older comment, but there are schools that offer night programs for nursing. In bergen county, bergen community has a night time RN program that starts every spring semester.

Did you use them like youd thought? I found some badge cards that I was gonna get so I was wondering if they were beneficial.

How much were you actually taking with you every day?
I didn use a backpack, I used a thirty one bag. A few of my classmates used backpacks and very few used the rolling ones. I put my text on the iPad so didn't have to worry about carrying anything heavy other than my notebook.
