Do you know anything about history? Lataji had a fight with all music directors over Royalty issue. She was not singing for anyone except Laxmi Pyare and Madan Mohan. All music directors had switched over to Asha Bhosle, Suman Kalyanpur, Sudhanshu Malhotra, and Sharda etc. These ladies gave many hit songs, but not as many as Lata with LP and MM. One by one in 3 to 4 years, they swallowed their ego and came back to Lata. Rajkapoor didn't have any Lata songs in his movies for 8 years. After all his movies flopped and he was in terrible debt, in 1973 he came to Lata and LP for Bobby. The movie was super duper hit. Thereafter, all Rajkapoor movie songs were by Lata till his death in 1990 or so.
So don't criticise any one just because you heard some Tom Dick and Harry saying so.
In the same film Lata ji also sang.just think if she played dirty politics how suman ji got chance to sing more songs than Lata ji in the movie .joker😂

Beautiful composition by Naushad sahib🙏 a true incident abt this song..as this movie was a remake of Tamil movie 'Paalum Pazhamum', director wanted a situation song similar to the one composed by Shri MSV.. Naushad sahib liked that song so much that he appreciated MSV and told director to keep the same song.. but on insistence he composed a song slightly similar to the original.. but still retained his individuality.. hats off to both Music directors🙏👍
