Sway is one then dudes that be like “you know what happened at the end of that movie? Ima tell u!!!”
Great movie cinematography and the music. beautifully shot and great storyline. Love the quirky friendship of the two young men. Danny Glover's character gave the story some richness. Tichina Arnold's character reminds me of a cousin of mine. A refreshing story and the gentrification unfortunately is real all across the country. The music score was especially touching with the a cappella singers and even a little Joni Mitchel with Blue. Really enjoyed it.
Watched it today. I cried
Best movie of the year hands down
Absolutely. Nothing against Parasite which was amazing, but Last Black Man in San Francisco was hands down the best movie from 2019
One of the greatest movies ever. It’s simply poetry behind a lens.
Dang, he mentioned Antioch, the city my family moved to in 1997 from San Bruno.
And yes, lotta homeless went there as well as to other East Bay cities and deeper inland.
It’s really something seeing a film that keeps it real. So relatable to, cause I (like many) are out here in the Bay. (Now on the outskirts).
So sway spoiled it off jump lol?
Amazing cast, amazing acting, amazing cinematography, amazing story, and amazing history!
Multiple watches.
Thank you
great interview, can't wait to see what's up next from these talented folks
looking forward to this.
That's crazy, I went to high school with Jimmie
Did you speak to him
Lessssss goooooo jayboeeeeee on sway
I miss the Bay luckily made it out a few years ago. Osaka is my home now. To me the Bay is just scars and memories.
They act like ppl not gonna watch the movie after talking a lil about it lol
If they’d given straight forward honest answers then they would’ve spoiled the movie
This movie was amazing
As a San Francisco native and resident still everything they said was true and resonates with me, especially the tax break part, those tax breaks gutted the city
How is it now
Get it Jimmie!
Gotta be honest, I thought this was a spike lee joint when I started watching this film, great job guys
Fr? I didn’t get Spike Lee vibes from it at all
Diquan Washingbeard just the style of music
@@diquanwashingbeard5175 how do you not get spike lee vibes from this film, the dudes hanging on the corner easily stemmed from all the side characters in do the right thing
Solar Flame okay you right
I live in San Francisco and it’s crazy because they only targeted those two areas the hunter poimt/Fillmore and mission smh and the people that do come here are rude af and think they are entitled to more
The people there now are hella disrespectful and entitled indeed.
@@Cornbreadmuffin86how is it now
Interesting movie
Damn sway did you even watch the film? Lol
It's yt out there. The hoods and ghettos and some middle and upper class black are there. I was in Frisco when someone broke into car.
not Sway tryna spoil the movie!
Jimmy: smile
I like Jimmie. Wish him the best...
Yts are like an infestation.
Was a great movie
Bailed cause I couldn't hear homeboy, keep em talking sway, and make sure we can hear em!
Jimmie is very attractive.
about to watch this movie now. SF is my home. im an artist. the bland people moving here are whack. peace
Sway c’mone now 🙄
Buy black the block
Here's a drinking game for you: take a shot every time Jimmie Fails says "you know".
Note to self: Don't come here for any talk about film.
so did his grandfather build the house or not? and why did his friend leave at the end? and why on a boat? where was he going?
Endless questions about this pointless movie...
@@zacduardo8623 only reason i ask questions is because the movie was really good. and there were a lot of hidden messages that i wanted to understand.
His grandfather Did Not build the house. The deed revealed that it belonged to someone else in the 1850s and his grandfather lost it in the 1990s. Jimmie revealed that he always knew.
He left because there was nothing left for him in SF after losing the house. He was homeless. His Dad was a hothead, his mom was MIA, his aunt lived too far and his friends house was tiny
Why a boat? Idk. Where he was going? That’s up to you. But regardless of where he’s going, in the end, you’re seeing someone having to leave their home. Very sad.
@@kevinmandujano5639 ya you right. i like how you broke that down. makes sense
Kevin Mandujano maybe he took a boat because the bus took too long and he broke his skateboard
Sway did not watch the film.
Lol how stupid is Sway tryna spoil all the twists
So that girl in The Crying Game...
there is no way in hell that the black dude is 25...he looks every bit of 37
I said the same thing!

I saw this movie last night and although I enjoyed it I did not think it was an exposé of how gentrification is changing SF. The protagonist's family was not pushed out of their house. The dad made bad choices..that's all I will say
Darren Moore I didn’t like it. There were too many missing links. The title was misleading and like you said it didn’t go into gentrification.
Lord don't talk about this or that....😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴Pass
Is there EVER a movie about how HARD a white life is!!?? Or just laughed at?. Im WHITE and PROUD OF HOW MOTHER F-ING HARD I WORK to KEEP American dream PROUD!!! I LOVE MY USA!!! ❤❤❤
One hipsters obsession with a house led to another hipsters attempt at art. 2 hours of “wtf is this movie even about?”...
