      G W like I said there are 2 stories here and Cerrone himself said that he has not trained there for a long time- I mean the way he is shitting all over the entire fight team too does not sound the best, and who knows how long he’s been away from the team and also been saying these negative things. It’s not as simple as “loyalty” when there are other things going on behind the scenes we do not know about.

    older fighters in super camps tend to fall from grace quick as if they aren't getting the focus and commitment to their carer from the coaches and training partners. Most of the great mma fighters have a smaller more consistent group of training of training partners and are picky about who they bring in to the group.

    I went there once for their grappling class back in 2016. Paid 35 bucks to roll with some of their stock fighters. I’ve been training for the better part of 10yrs. I knew my place when I was there. Didn’t ask to roll with Jones nor Holly. But if I’m perfectly honest, I was tapped maybe once and I was WAAAY outta shape pushing 215. I wasn’t too impressed with the caliber of No Gi. I get what Cerrone is saying, there should be a place for pros who are making a living doing this who can train with high caliber fighters. But I’d give my left nut just to be invited to his ranch and spar or roll around a bit. At the very least I’d take him out hunting in the Gila!

    • @hzuiel
      @hzuiel 5 років тому

      .....What art? MMA isn't an art, it's a sport based on competing between different martial arts. Sport is very different than practicing a particular martial art for meditation, historical significance, or some sort of artistry. If you "train mma" then you're training for a sport. It's like looking for art in a football game.

    the difficulty of any gym is balancing the best for the fighters with the best for the business. Sadly, you have to think of the business first. Because, ultimately if the business fails due to low income or an inability to pay the bills then there is no place to train. That being said, a top notch gym should have a delineation for its pros where you have to qualify for those sessions and monthly member fees do not count for shit. Also, that being said, if you are not paying to go somewhere and train for free save for a percentage of your fight money then you really cant have too much say in the operations. In your own training, absolutely. But in the operation of the facility, no. Cerrone is a true class act and I love watching him fight. This sucks for him.

    cerrone is a great guy and he's totally right about the changing of the school. he did the right thing to get out. And if they train Perry to take advantage of inside knowledge, that's a TERRIBLE thing to do, totally immoral. HOWEVER. if he's not around anymore, then he kinda left a long time ago. open schools are not a good place to place your loyalty. I had a karate school that was a great training situation, then things changed. Had to leave. fighters need people who are loyal to THEM, as much as the other way around. I like perry but I hope that cowboy handles him.
