I was an animation student just under a decade ago and I saw this for the first time at university when one of the guys in my class dressed up as the pirate complete with fake bulge for Halloween (and it wasn’t half bad actually) and I asked “Okay this is well put together but what’s this from?” And the entire class erupted and had to put it on the projector screen and it’s a solid memory of mine, it was one of my favourite days there
My 7 year-old self seeing this back then tried to base my entire existence solely on becoming the pelvic ninja. Never regretted showing up to my school costume party with a stick taped to my groin while wearing a black robe.

I remember seeing this back in like 2008 and thinking it was the pinnacle of content on the internet. It's amazing how far animation and content creation has progressed since then. Still not taking away anything from this guy's work though, he did a good job and I still have nostalgia for it!
This video is still better than most "animation" online today. That's not the horny talking either, the animation is fluid, has dynamic shots and clean line work.
It's still better animation than 90% of the garbage around now. This is incredibly fluid and dynamic whereas most animation channels nowadays just move a Jpeg of their shitty avatar with different expressions and poses because of the "quantity over quality" mentality of the modern internet. This is still the pinnacle of UA-cam animation, or at least very damn near it. Hell, it's better animated than the CalArts bullshit we've gotten since 2010.
Funny thing about this classic. This is not random lol funny, the characters are leprechaun badguys from a story arc in in Fred Perry's Gold Digger comics. From issue #70 (2006), back when Ninja VS Pirates was a thing. You can read the comic on sites of ill repute or from the publisher's own web site.
Every time I see this I'm always taken by how much character everyone in the animation has, enough to where you can figure out their entire personality. You got the goal obsessed captain, whose ignorant to everything save for searching for treasure. You've got the girl whose in love with the captain and apparently it's very confident with or without clothes. You've got the comedic relief crotch ninja whose probably skilled at everything but never talks and seems funny so no one takes him seriously. Finally you've got the fat guy, similar to Scruffy from Futurama, rarely appears but when he does he just seems kinda ... Odd.

They have a ship that turns into a 'Giant' robot that stands barely at the same height of the average human. And the dude with the spade in his groin's name is O' Schwing. He's essentially Roronoa Zoro but with his third sword is where you think it is. You have learned this day.
i had seen the animation years ago but had no idea it was anything more than that. knowing this i feel like i have stumbled upon the earliest days of greatness and that's a cool experience
Greatest animation and story I have seen thus far, and very simple reasons 1. Amazing character designs, and the characters ooze personality. 2. Simple story that's easy to follow, but with enough conflict to be interesting. 3. At the end, the conflict between protagonists, i.e. the pirate girl becoming jealous, is resolved almost immediately, not dragged out in an attempt to make the story more "complex". Pirate/10, would plunder again.

What's incredible to me is that- the first time I saw this animation, it wasn't on this channel, it was probably even under a different name and slightly less quality- _something_ looked familiar about it, and I couldn't quite place it until I did some digging And being intimately familiar with the works they were putting out more recently than this much older but _surprisingly_ quality animation, I was both surprised and not to find out that *Fred Perry* had a predominant hand in it. Knowing that it was him, it wasn't hard to watch this again and see the similarities in art style, proportions, expressions, ESPECIALLY the expressions! There's so much that his style retained to this day that it's impressive that this animation looks both old enough to be a relic/myth, and new enough to be from at least 2015 onwards.

The use of the term "pirate" in copyright matters is actually over a century old, but originally referred to the publishers, etc who actively profited off it and not those that bought the unauthorized product. Things became more muddled once home recording became a thing.

They just weren't in the scene as long, or are outsiders. The internet is vast, and now starting to become old (generations wise). She's actually called O'Mommah and she is part of McMorgan's crew of leprechaun-ninja pirates (McMorgan is the captain on the video), which also includes these weird "ninjas". They are secondary characters from the Gold Digger comic book series by Fred Perry.

I know that they probably called it "pirating" in order to attempt to equate it with theft (which it is objectively not, illegal downloading is infringement of monopoly and has nothing to do with theft at all) but all that they achieved with me is making it sound cool and thus making me want to do it even more. And unlike sea pirating, I do not even have to steal anything!
The use of the term "pirate" in copyright matters is actually over a century old, but originally referred to the publishers, etc who actively profited off it and not those that bought the unauthorized product. Things became more muddled once home recording became a thing.
