I am a nurse , I can understand telling somebody to check if something is wrong but I do not go to the the office of a patient to interfere in his business, this part of the story is strange.
I don’t understand why outside companies would believe someone who is not and did not do anything to Carter company will believe the brother without verifying and confirming the source.
