I just rewatched both Man of Steel and Batman V. Superman. Going off the trailer that was released for Gunn's Superman movie, Gunn doesn't have a prayer. From the suit to the VFX and beyond how can he say that HIS Superman is going to be more practical when I'm seeing the opposite and then sum. I don't understand how certain people call themselves Business Executives, etc. would have bad taste in products that are clearly not what the audience, NOT CRITICS, want. It's obvious they are in our faces about how disrespectful they are not only to the audience but the people who put time, effort, and struggle just create what they dreamed to one day create for other fans of characters, franchises, etc.
Superman was NEVER going to be a box office smash. DC is in the gutter right now and they need to create good will for the brand. The obstacle Superman faces is to get the audience interested in the world created, that the sequel or next entry in the DCU will pull in the audience. Compare to Batman Begins... after Batman & Robin destroyed the IP, Batman Begins didn't make a box office smash, but it captured the audience... fast forward to its sequel The Dark Knight. This is what Superman needs to pull off
This is turning into just focusing on twitter post and not actually reviewing stuff. Also it’s weird you actually acknowledge that creature commandos (which was renewed for a second season) was number 1 on and ignored it just to fit your argument. You get more and more biased each video and turn almost everything into a negative.
Here's the thing: if this film matches Man of Steel dollar for dollar...that would mean that in terms of ticket sales...it would sell a LOT less than Man of Steel. There has been TWELVE years of ticket price inflation since Man of Steel. So matching it dollar for dollar would mean that the ticket sales actually shrank by a pretty dramatic margin. That's why The Batman making $770M in 2022 when The Dark Knight made $1B in 2008 represents an evening LARGER decline in audience. Not just the 30% reduction in raw box office results...but likely a 40% or more reduction in audience size. This is very crucial for people to understand.
All I’m saying is, if I’m not interested in it, it’s not gonna make it opening weekend or any day beyond that. And I’m here for it… They made the worse decision ever as far as WB/DC. I gave JG a chance to convince me.
Over a decade of people saying Zack Snyder's DC films are all style with no substance. It turns out that all those people needed was brighter colours, which is surely style over substance, because the teaser trailer gives no actual substance away. The DCU is already not a cohesive universe. Just look at the tone in Creature Commandos... and everything that is connected to it from the DCEU.
@noah2009yeah That doesn't change my mind what so ever Cornball looks like the weakest Superman on screen I have ever seen and also the fact he doesn't even look like Superman unlike the best Superman EVER Henry Cavill.
I can not believe Robert Patterson will be dumped into James Gunn's DCEU or recast in it. The Batman is far superior to anything James Gunn has done in DCEU.
It really needs to make a Billion to break even. This movie cost about $350 Million. Marketing the movie will cost $100-150 Million. Theatre takes roughly half the cost from the admission. $800 Million might be enough to green lit part 2, but I don't think it'll hit that. It's facing tough competition before and after the opening day. Pattison and ZS fans are not happy with James Gunn and I don't see them going to this movie. General audience will just be confused with the reboot and ask why.
@@MostlyMocchiHe’s a chronically liar. The dude can’t tell the truth if his life depended on it. There’s documentation from Cleveland that says otherwise. It’s accessible to everyone. Even writing it off, it’s still over $300 million.
Aaron, 800 million would be a disaster, Gunn's costume designer on this Superman movie was the same costume designer on Guardians of the Galaxy, she was interviewed and they asked her what it was like to create the Superman suit and she said she had a lot more freedom with this film because the budget was higher, Guardians of the Galaxy 3 had a 275 million budget, now she's saying that Superman's budget was higher that's a 300 million movie and that's not counting marketing which is at least going to be a 100 million for films like this, this movie If It Makes 800 million will lose 200 million dollars for Warner Brothers, this movie needs to make a billion dollars just to pull even, that's why all these delusional people are not facing facts, if this movie doesn't make a billion it's a financial disaster regardless of what Warner Brothers says
MOS made about 670 million and it was deemed pretty successful and got a sequel. So I do agree that 600 mil or more will make Gunn's Superman successful. And before anyone pounces on me, I don't like Gunn and don't have much faith his Superman movie will be good. I just think it's a bit biased to say that his film would not be successful at 600 mil when that is around what MOS made.
If Superman doesnt make more or same as The Batman then its definitely a fail. They will say its a success either way. I mean look at The Suicide Squad. That movie bombed but rotten tomatoes said it was awesome and James Gunn got hired.
Batman’s enemy will be…….the long-standing behind the scenes Warner Bros! Will be tricky bringing such villain onto the screen, but the script in the hands of a good story teller can make it a sure thang!
My pitch for Superman: Man of Tomorrow is an introspective story following Superman as he travels through the cosmos alongside his cousin Kara Zor-El in an effort to stop Brainiac from taking Earth as a part of his collection. Clark is met with help from Hal Jordan and John Stewart and occasional hindrance in the form of Lobo. Thoughts?
Like Superman: Up in the Sky. Nice. Probably would say use another green lantern like Tomar Re and tease Hal or John at the end. Seems like an emotional movie between 2 cousins.
DC studios loves to move the goal posts. Superman better make more than 800 million if not, it’s a flop. I think it will make about what Black Adam made in theaters. ✌🏽
Fu(k that! THE Batman made less than the BvS debut of the DCEU and THE Suicide Squad made far, far less than the original...this new Sooperman movie needs to make over $903 million in order for it to beat Man of Steel (2013)

The movie industry is so out of touch. The fact that they don't pay attention to what works, or think that the Flash movie was one of the best superhero movies ever made. It's almost like they are trying to sabotage their own business. I'm guessing some of the higher-ups set things up to fail and are making a profit behind the scenes. The fact that Andy Muschietti thinks the Flash failed because of "movie demographics," and not because of bad graphics and CGI. It was more of a joke, not enough depth. And with all of the crazy disturbing headlines that was going on with Ezra Miller, says that Andy himself is out of touch. Maybe he should stick to horror. Here's a message for you Warner Bros. Make a good movie. Stop making a joke of everything. Comedy has it's place. Stop thinking that just because it's in the comics, that it will work on the big screen. Stop making everything like a cartoon. It's not just DC, Marvel seems to be doing the same thing.
The Cavill fiasco was one of the biggest drawbacks for me along with the comedy show they made out of the rest of the DCEU. GUNNS DCU will be low budget comedy garbage and there is no doubt PERIOD!!
I agree if superman legacy does not the make more than man of steel, it would be a flop, but I assure you James Gunn and his cultists would consider it a success even if it made 400 - 600 million and we all know James Gunn does what James Gunn wants. This DCU is not really connected anyways like MCU. All his movies would have self contained stories not building up to a bigger story. F James Gunn
Aaron is at it once again with these weird clickbaits and video titles. If Superman makes about 650-700 million, that would be a great number in 2025. During the last two years there's been only five movies each year which have managed to achieve that, and there's no denying the overall numbers haven't been the same since the pandemic. Before that we had several movies that broke 1B, nowadays it's maybe two movies a year.
I watched it. Pretty decent show. Nothing special but still really emotional. Main problem is some comedy falls flat and pacing. Compliments include the characters, flashbacks, animation and emotion.
I wonder if they will put Supergirl in a onesie like Sasha Calle or the latter version of the CW Supergirl? If it's all baggy on Millie, that will look horrible especially with a slimmer frame
Great coverage! I'm glad you're recovering! I'm looking forward to the Creature Commandos full review! Ps. Where are you getting 800 million from? In my book, to keep up with inflation, it is much closer to 925 million. Frankly, let's just call it a billion even. Why not? Dispite BvS making nearly 900 million critics demanded 1 billion even though it was nearly 200 million in profits by then. No need to go easy on these same people who celebrated a suicide like it was a wonderful thing.
Wdym not top what snyder did with darkseid? Darkseid didn't do nun in his😭 all he did was cause the apocalypse using evil superman off screen. Nah but ZOD was a great villain in MoS fr.
We're around 6 months away from release. I think it's still too early to make these predictions. If it gets to 700 Million, despite releasing between two other large franchises, it would do amazing. And yes, every single critic is only one ticket price in the milions of dollars; so word of mouth and audience reception will be critical for it's success (This is true for any film). Which is why i believe that getting the audience excited for the film this early is a very good marketing strategy. It keeps the idea longer in people's mind, as well as stimulate fan discussions as new information emerges.
I really dont know who at DC needs to get through their head that people literally dont give af about these silly TV series. None of them have been good. People wont care because the cinematic universe is a flop. So aggravating
Exactly 💯. It is NOT a Superman movie. To save face of the studio and gunn, the movie should be renamed to Superboy. By the look of it, the movie will make less than 600 million.
What's their agenda though? Same with disney and star wars at the moment, they know people will still watch it to see how dredful it is for themselves ,so they still tick the boxes? it's like they want to loose money on purpose

Zach Snyder Justice League is still making money till today
Gunn or Snyder fan, we can all agree James Gunn VS Zack Snyder is THE debate in pop culture that most mirrors politics ever
Andy is full of shit. Hes not gonna be the director anymore. LOL 🤣
I hope he gets blacklisted for making that shitty Flash movie and for defending a groomer!
@wiinterflowers95 Ezra's not a groomer you're an dumb
@wiinterflowers95 Ezra is not a groomer. Goes to show your intelligence small.
We went from kevin costner as jonathan kent to gunn's harvey weinstein lmao 😂
Cornball does not look like a Superman to me, he looks like a joke of a Superman.
Looks more like Superboy to me..his Clark looks fine, but we don't want a Clark movie
To me he looks like a thrift store cosplay of Superman.
@puichiung2959 lol 😂
Pls go look at Superman in the comics, even better look at Dan mora and Frank quitely Superman art
@noah2009yeah That doesn't change my mind what so ever Cornball looks like the weakest Superman on screen I have ever seen and also the fact he doesn't even look like Superman unlike the best Superman EVER Henry Cavill.
Lmao the DCU is already screwed, starting it with an animated series that kids cant and shouldnt watch was beyond dumb...
I can not believe Robert Patterson will be dumped into James Gunn's DCEU or recast in it. The Batman is far superior to anything James Gunn has done in DCEU.
I hope it won't be a disaster. If it is I doubt they will ever make another superman movie again, at least not in my lifetime
CW fans too after Gunn canned Superman and Lois three Seasons early.
gunn already said that the movie doesn't have a budget like that
@@MostlyMocchiHe’s a chronically liar. The dude can’t tell the truth if his life depended on it. There’s documentation from Cleveland that says otherwise. It’s accessible to everyone. Even writing it off, it’s still over $300 million.
The Penguin isn't a full blown DCU project. It's an elseworld's project. 🤦🏻🔥
Gunn just made Pattinson part of the DCU, that means.... it is. 🤦♂🤦♂
DCU project just means any new projects under DC Studios.
Aaron,
800 million would be a disaster, Gunn's costume designer on this Superman movie was the same costume designer on Guardians of the Galaxy, she was interviewed and they asked her what it was like to create the Superman suit and she said she had a lot more freedom with this film because the budget was higher, Guardians of the Galaxy 3 had a 275 million budget, now she's saying that Superman's budget was higher that's a 300 million movie and that's not counting marketing which is at least going to be a 100 million for films like this, this movie If It Makes 800 million will lose 200 million dollars for Warner Brothers, this movie needs to make a billion dollars just to pull even, that's why all these delusional people are not facing facts, if this movie doesn't make a billion it's a financial disaster regardless of what Warner Brothers says
Since Supergirl is also DC. I'm sure James Gunn's costume designer can do the magic one more time and make another terrible suit.
They don't have enough water or funding for the fire fighters to put out the fires
If Superman doesnt make more or same as The Batman then its definitely a fail. They will say its a success either way. I mean look at The Suicide Squad. That movie bombed but rotten tomatoes said it was awesome and James Gunn got hired.
James Gunn’s DCU is going to end before it even begins. It’s off to The Void for James Gunn’s DCU. Someone call the TVA.
Thoughts?
Man of Tomorrow is my pitch for Man of Steel 2.
700$ mil in 2013, adjusted for inflation today, would be how much?…. Say it again for the 🐑 in the back😂😂
Consider that MOS was 9th highest grossing movies of 2013, 9th highest of 2024 was Mufasa with 542M. So no the inflation argument doesn't work
The Flash movie failed so badly so why do they think they can do the right thing with a new Batman? It is horror story.
I’m with you Aaron
That costume alone has turned me off the movie. It's so dumb.
Fu(k that! THE Batman made less than the BvS debut of the DCEU and THE Suicide Squad made far, far less than the original...this new Sooperman movie needs to make over $903 million in order for it to beat Man of Steel (2013)
Movies are bad these days. Everywhere you look.
2:56 Good, I despise Spider-man Now Way Home. That is the worst CMB ever made, that includes Captain Marvel, Batman and Robin, Catwoman and the abomination known as Superman 3 along with WW84. Plus I watched the Snyder cut a few days ago for the first time and I'm pleasantly surprised. It was pretty good. The blind hatred by a bunch of "DC" marks is insane.
Good to see you back on and know you’re recovering.
I’ve been saying since Gunn took over that if I had to bet I’d say this DCU will be a success. Not for me though.
I BET, it won't be a success.
This is not a second rate characrer like...lets be honest, clayface 😂
According to Gunn's slate, it only shows one Superman and one Supergirl movie...unless they are appearing in the other movies on his roster
It’s only half of the full slate of This chapter and also we’re getting another chapter after chapter 1 and most likely a Superman 2 will happen but that doesn’t mean Superman will not show up in other projects
This wasn’t a full slate so we might get more. I think he said sequels won’t be a priority but don’t quote me on that.
@khizeryusufzai2185 it was a big rumor from Dcu leaks who are very reliable, i don’t mind it tbh
Josh Brolin don’t need Gunn’s DCU. He was Thanos in the MCU and Cable in Deadpool 2. Why is everyone willing to destroy their career and waste their talents in James Gunn’s DCU?
I'm calling it right now. This movie is going to make 450 million .DOA on the spot 😅
What was the budget for Gunn's Superman ??
Somewhere around 360 million, this doesn't include the cost of re-shoots.
@@twistsnkicksthat’s not true it was false Gunn debunked it
@@noah2009yeah this information is public. Look into the applicants for the Ohio Motion Picture Tax Credit, James Gunn's "Superman" is under the code name "Genesis"; if you look at the budget, you'll see around 360 million.
James Gunn is pathological liar, I don't know how people still take anything he says seriously.
@@noah2009yeah Well it seems like we have another case of James Gunn lying. The info is public btw, it's not secret.
All you have to do is look into the films that applied for an Ohio Motion Picture Tax Credit; James Gunn's Superman film is under the title "Genesis" and if you look at the budget, it's around 360 million.
@@twistsnkicks I know there’s a doc but stated that he no clue of the docs fake or someone messed up cause he sent it to WB and they didn’t know either also even admits they wouldn’t even give Gunn that type of budget for a Superman film
I’m still looking forward to this movie and the dcu and I think we all as DC fans should go into this truly open minded :)
The Cavill fiasco was one of the biggest drawbacks for me along with the comedy show they made out of the rest of the DCEU.
GUNNS DCU will be low budget comedy garbage and there is no doubt PERIOD!!
I love DC but i hope so that superman suit SUCKS…that movie looks wack..
Cavil is Superman, nuff said.
He’s not anymore move on
@@KC2K6 You move on and shut your yap.
I thought that was Clark Kent
@@houseofel6252 I alr moved on take your own advice pal and look for a job application
@khizeryusufzai2185 these people are mentally deranged bro
I agree if superman legacy does not the make more than man of steel, it would be a flop, but I assure you James Gunn and his cultists would consider it a success even if it made 400 - 600 million and we all know James Gunn does what James Gunn wants.
This DCU is not really connected anyways like MCU.
All his movies would have self contained stories not building up to a bigger story.
F James Gunn
I think it's wierd that James Gunn came out the gate with "Creature Commandos" it feels very on brand for Gunn. Then he wants to do The Authority 🙄
Any executive with common sense would have restored the snyderverse
Deadpool and Wolverine made a lot money as well.
I think it will make between 475 to 525 and looking at the calendar of movies coming out after July 11th I don't see it doing anywhere near 800
@LaserPointer-n5r with a $350 Million budget???? Lay off the drugs Gunn Toll Guzzling bozo, they are killing your braincells.
Anybody here actually interested in watching creature commandos and watch it?
I watched it. Pretty decent show. Nothing special but still really emotional. Main problem is some comedy falls flat and pacing. Compliments include the characters, flashbacks, animation and emotion.
@khizeryusufzai2185 thanks
@@buzzardscry1383 your welcome. You watch the show?
DCU Is Disaster and Bad To Flopping
I wonder if they will put Supergirl in a onesie like Sasha Calle or the latter version of the CW Supergirl? If it's all baggy on Millie, that will look horrible especially with a slimmer frame
It’s most then likely gonna be the suit she wears in woman or tomorrow with a different logo and some similar lines like Superman’s
Welcome back, been looking out for your video
Wdym not top what snyder did with darkseid? Darkseid didn't do nun in his😭 all he did was cause the apocalypse using evil superman off screen. Nah but ZOD was a great villain in MoS fr.
Can't wait for that
Gunn's movie Wount top Man of steel am sure of it I can feel it in my veins. He killed an entire universe for nothing.
Plus the costume is absolutely horrible
Gunn's superman logo looks like it's made out of playdough.....
It’s all hype until it happens and when it fails blame James Gunn and DCEU
honestly DCU and WBD is a complete mess right now. i feel like any actor who intends to join them is simply risking their career.
Exactly 💯.
It is NOT a Superman movie.
To save face of the studio and gunn, the movie should be renamed to Superboy. By the look of it, the movie will make less than 600 million.
It seems that there is a lot of denial about who wrong WB have been with the Zack Snyder start to DCEU and it's direction.
What's their agenda though? Same with disney and star wars at the moment, they know people will still watch it to see how dredful it is for themselves ,so they still tick the boxes? it's like they want to loose money on purpose
Wicked made way more money than their budget . Because it was a good musical
Should of stuck with Synder, he had two more movies to do, it wud of been awesome!!
