I personally believe we're in a AI bubble, I don't think it will ever replace humans. Nevertheless we still need humans to supervise AI work. This goes into a deep philosophical debate of whether AI/robots will ever replace us, i.e creative beings. I was looking for a technical writing podcast. Glad I've found you! Cheers from Indonesia.
I think that it's great that technical writers like Tom are getting the word out. I think management can use AI to replace technical writers until they realize what technical writers do. Even when I'm working and training engineers how to technical write, there are three issues: They don't want to, they are too busy, they just can't grasp the value of the details. Most of my comments from documentation reviews have to do with things that engineers and others overlook. I guess that's also because I'm usually focused on the technical content.
Thanks Tom, very pleasant listening, it helped with collating my thoughts on our own API Docs strategy 🙂. Interesting times.

Good one Tom!
I used the severance money from my layoff to buy Microsoft stock as my personal UBI!
Good insights.
