- EXODUS was announced at The Game Awards 2023 and is an epic new sci-fi action-adventure role-playing game franchise developed by the team at Archetype Entertainment. Produced by Blur Studio. BECOME THE TRAVELER.

For those that don't know, this studio was founded by former Bioware employees. Including James Ohlen, lead designer for Baldur's Gate 1&2, KOTOR 1, and DA: Origins, and Drew Karpyshyn, lead writer of Mass Effect 1&2.

I loved Mass Effect and i hope this doesn't disappoint.
Drew is an amazing writer so I'm definitely keeping my eye on this.
Hope they have some combat vets on the team especially if they want to make it 3p action game. KOTOR and DA: Origins are remembered for alot of things, but 100% not for their combat.

Yeah for awhile it was looking the same with Keanu Reeves and Cyberpunk, but CD eventually managed to pull themselves out of the proverbial rut, 2-3 years later. So now Keanu wasn't used in vain after all lol.

The timing of that little break in the music at 2:14 is so satisfying
so basically, what if Mass Effect Andromeda was actually made by Bioware
Or the ending of Mass Effect 3 was made by people who had better judgment than Casey Hudson did by the end. Like the actual storytellers.

@@domusavires19no, the gameplay camera, the powers system, the gunplay, and the literal premise are all ripped right out of Mass Effect. And if that wasn’t enough, Archetype Entertainment is led by James Ohlen and has Drew Karpyshyn as a lead writer, both of whom were former devs at BioWare. It’s not a generalisation. It’s kinda uncanny where the DNA is from.

@@Daedalus29 yeah. As much as I crave another Mass Effect, I think this needs to establish a separate and original identity. So as the game progresses, there needs to be a significant difference in themes, designs and concepts. Personally can’t wait.

Watching this right after the trailer current Bioware released for Dragon Age 4 makes it seem like they're the indie company and these guys are the AAA one.

I see they have preserved the "run as if you are submerged in jelly" mechanic from Mass Effect
Action RPGs require this viscosity.

When a trailer makes you cry, you know there is something good here. Ive spent years waiting for mass effect 4 (Andromeda isn't 4). Maybe I'll finally be able to move on with a new franchise.
The Bioware Game we deserve, im looking forward to this, with just the small bit of stroy telling, im already invested.

I just learned that the character in this trailer is actually a companion named Tom Vargus and not the main character.
Indeed i read about him in the site. 5 companions and a seemingly custom character you control named Jun.

In this trailer world there are Interstellar vibes BUT also Space Pirate Captain Harlock (That includes a bit of Battleship Yamato) and those gates sideeffects are also known in the anime movie Gunbuster. i'm looking forward to this game because it's the warm soft rain my dried out Mass Effect earth has been waiting for years to bloom again. But take you time "child" with new fresh Hope i am willing to wait for you

Is that of the Bioware dudes? Looks like quality, really stands out from most games in the last 8 years. Reminds me of Mass Effect and the good writing the first two had.

I didn’t know about this game until I just searched for new Peter F. Hamilton books, and discovered that he’s writing two books set in the Exodus universe… I know the books will be good, Hamilton is up there with Iain M. Banks IMO, and I’m really looking forward to more news about the game.
The form of humanity versus extremely advanced race always makes me excited, I hope it's not a disappointment

Seeing how old BioWare talent is involved and that it's going to be a sci-fi RPG I have high hopes of seeing a game like Mass Effect for real, BioWare just doesn't feel like it used to. I wish the best for this project.

Yeah it was def giving Andromeda and I guess its developed by a lot of former Bioware employees so I would imagine it's almost literally another shot at Andromeda.
Considering it's written by the lead writer of the first 2 mass effects, I'm 100% guaranteeing it will.

Let's wait and see when it comes out in 5 - 10 years. We had so many cool concepts which turned out to be just lies to get us hooked, so I won't hold my breath.
The whole tme-dilation concept strikes me as 'impossible to employ in but a few game aspects' so I'll stay clear of this till patch 2.0.

hope the game play is POWER based like Mass Effect, i love the various character builds with wierd and awesome abilities.
People from baldur's gate 1 and 2, knights of the old Republic 1, dragon age origins, and the lead writer from mass effect 1 and 2. So it's highly possible and it kinda looks like it

Me looking at those robots thinking "are those geth?" Happy to follow the talent that is no longer at BioWare.
I’ve been very jaded by a lot of video games that have come out lately, either because of terrible writing, blatant sub par cash grabs and ruining of a lot of established franchises given to the wrong hands and made a lesser product.
But this…I am genuinely optimistic and a little excited about playing this especially since I heard one of the devs who made Kotor and Mass effect are making this with no studio/publisher interference.

This was a surprising new game IP. I know people are gonna whine about this being another space game. Blah blah blah The gameplay and combat looks pretty good though at the end. Also, Matthew McConaughey from Interstellar movie fame being part of this game is just icing in the cake! By its own merit, this looks decent! I think that I'll keep my eye on this and add it to my wishlist and backlog of games to play!

THAT'S A BAD OMEN. It's not that it looks bad, it looks quite good. It's that... Rome II said the same about its footage. Cyberpunk said more or less the same thing. It means bait and switch, to me.

The song for the game play part of the trailer is called "super massive black holes" by "Muse"
When you travel at 'Light Speed' time does NOT slow to a crawl but if you travel using 'Quantum Entanglement/Tunnelling' now you're talking. Example: light speed is good for traversing our solar system at best (light from our sun takes 5.5 hours to hit Pluto) but if you want to travel into deep space say to the Boötes constellation and visit the fourth brightest star from Earth called Arcturus it would take you about 36.7 light-years from our sun using light speed whereas if you used quantum it would only take you roughly two months.
Once 'Bioware' meant 'excellent storytelling'. Now we all hope the same applies to 'former Bioware employees'. This is going to be interesting.
