My father inlaw has had one like this for the past 15 years. It has withstood Florida heat and several hurricanes, it has been blown down twice from strong winds yet it easily gets rebuilt (replaced the skinny metal bars with heavy gauge steel bars the second time), the shed continues to stands today and probably wont be replaced until the next storm blows it over lol.
I have the rubbermaid version of this and it has utterly and completely surprised me. 100% satisfied. Does not leak and has endured winds you would not believe...Oklahoma winds. Plastic sheds are awsome!
just purchased and built the 10 x 8 shed…make sure you have a LEVEL surface before you start…went together fine…had to do a bit of adjusting for the doors….(initially the box had 2 left doors but they quickly sent me a R door)…i’m in Ontario Canada and mine came with the snow load kit, which i’m sure will make it strong enough for the snow…shed looks great and so far am pleased with it
I purchased the 8 X10 shed, same model. This video will help me alot in the assembly of the shed. I hope Lifetime has made this thing very durable, because I live in Canada and this shed will be exposed to -40F temperatures, snow loads and spring melts. I have made my base out of concrete with rebar. Thank you for the Video.
We are in MN, so I gets cold too. We are planning to store our snow blower and driving lawn mower. How has it held up for a year and can it hold a driving mower?
It looks good, I hope you give it a big dose of 303 to protect it from the sun or it will fade. I am in the process of putting one together. Mine is 7x7. Looks like your but no vents at the top. Yours looks slightly taller to accommodate the vent. Mine has a continuous long clear plastic skylight the length of the ridge. Basically looks like yours.I'm hoping gravity holds it down. I have much to fill it with. How has your held up? Thanks for sharing.
Just got this exact shed cost me 849 gotta love inflation but thank you for your review. I’m not too far from the Texas border in New Mexico so I hope my shed holds up as well
Just bought this shed for would you believe $64 dollars or in my case in the UK £50 shipped from a from China as I write. It as on an end of contract sale from a discounter website so that the warehousing can recoup some of it's costs they are selling these at an 89% discount. It is to replace an ancient leaky metal 6 foot X 4 foot shed so I'll have to expand the base a bit. Thank you for your review.
Scott you have had the Lifetime storage shed for a while now. What is your opinion? Also, I just bought one can you install the window on either side. Yours it on the side I want mine to be but the box shows it on the other side. Thanks for your help.
Please note: You can't make paint stick to this type of plastic if you're thinking of changing the color. If you don't like the color of this shed, you will either have to replace it or get used to it. Over time the panels will warp and fade if exposed to a lot of sunlight, but it's not something that happens quickly.
Just found your video because I’m looking at these plastic sheds. I’m in texas as well. How is it holding up to winds? Thinking about making one into a chicken coop/ shed
I just bought same one from Costco for $850 with tax , how did you get it for $699 ?.. also does water get in through front door or anywhere else ? Thanks for helpful video, Chris from Connecticut
I want to buy a small shed customize it. Do you think that Rustoleum spray paint would take on this type of shed? I am still debating if I want to. go with a wooden shed or plastic. You mentioned that the floor was thin. Would it work to put a wood type floor on top of the plastic floor?
How tough/safe do you think this shed is? I saw some reviews for other plastic sheds that people mentioned you could knock in the doors or windows very easily. I don’t have a fence around my yard, but would get a padlock for the door. I just need a place for a lawn mower and basic tools. Thanks!
The base it came with is flimsy. The door latch is is thick metal and can be locked. The window is Plexiglas so less breakable, but rather thin. It will stop petty thieves but not professionals. Hope this helps. I believe our possessions are safe, but we live in a save neighborhood.
Any decent knife will go through these sheds or storage boxes. Even a cigarette lighter will melt enough to allow someone to by-pass the lock. However they keep your stuff out of sight and rain. Wouldn't keep anything of value in there, but it's a plastic shed. So I know what it's security limitations are.
Scott's Garage thanks for your reply and your video!! I had a much harder time with assembly than it appeared you did 🙃🤣 but it’s up and I’m impressed with the quality! It’s storing everything just fine without any leaks and is sturdy enough for my needs.
Just put this shed together and have a couple of positive comments. The directions suck, but the online video is great. I was rather impressed witb how light it is and hope my friend gets lots of use ftom it. Floor looks cheap but we"ll see. Nice looking also.
Thanks for the build video's and review. I found it very helpful! I already bought this exact shed but we are building a new house so I have not put it together yet. I was going to use a crushed gravel base for it however after seeing your review I have decided to build the base out of wood as you have. I'm sure the wood is pressure treated however do you plan to put any additional whether coating (paint or sealant) over the base?
Same in South Florida, i built my first (metal) shed in 2013 without a permit...now i've been fighting for 2 years with the city and went to court (appeal) but nothing helped, i have to take it down because i don't have enough setback (need 3ft). So i asked for a permit and want to buy the Lifetime 8' x 15' if they allow me that size, leaving 3ft between the shed and the neighbor.
@@69mwagner No not in a HOA community but it is still a private village with its own rules. It was a bit visible from the street so they probably have seen it, or they also use Google maps or Google Earth and can see your property from above.
@@Singingmom320 you’re funny. My grand daughter would love to play in this periodically. It gets really hot here in New Orleans, and I see no provision to allow a cooling system. Grown women dollhouse is a stretch of imagination…..stop it😂😅
Wrong. Mine is 3+ years running and is still great. When i first looked at plastic sheds i thought that there was no way they would last very long and other stuff like it blowing down. All wrong. The plastic panels and the engineering in them are awsome.
I would not recommend this shed. It was a pain in the ass to put together. There are 3 different parts to the roof. You're better off buying one already made, or building one yourself would be easier.
@Dean Chapman I believe you! I followed the directions and still had trouble with corners snapping into the floor. I had to rock them back and forth while pulling down with all my might and it took me multiple attempts on 3 out 4. Thought I could finish it up tonight, but I found out there's something out of spec and the last few roof caps are 1/2" short and too far to close the roof up. Very frustrating and not recommended. I had bought a Suncast one from Costco about ten years ago and had no trouble assembling that one. But, this one is no where near as easy or trouble free. I watched the Lifetime tutorial video and they made it look so easy.

Great so far. Strong enough for extreme cold, and about a 1 foot or more wet snow load on the roof!

Hi Scott, I watched your other video about the cable secures but I'm wondering how it held up in the wind before you installed the cables?
Looking at getting a shed like this but in 8x10, can you give an updated on how its holding up please?
Holding up real well so far.
Hi Scott, How has it held up now that it's been over 3 years since you first posted this video?
It's now 1 1/2 yrs. Looks pretty cool. How's it holding up?
I was about to ask the same thing 👍

I have rain coming in from the bottom did u have any issues
Just got two of them will see how go's
