I gave upon hunting Kennedy rolls because I did not find enough - one 1964 - I value my time more than that one find. I like Kennedys but do not consider myself a collector. The issue I have is that the mint website informed us in the recent past the Kennedys were NIFC but then they found their way into circulation. That is a bummer for those who bought rolls from the mint.
They need to start producing..999 half dollars
Starting in 2019 the Kennedy half went to 999 for the silver proof sets,, They are stunning
for circulation?
Nope. Silver shortage coming
Yeah, you know me, I'm down with NIFC! It's wild to see how many of these are being produced. I think they may be used to satisfy coin roll hunters. Of course, they will be sorely disappointed when they see a brand new box of 2024 Kennedy halves. lol
LOL, Thanks Sal
Why are they minting so many One Dollar Coins and not circulating them. Hmmm, try to think 15 years ahead.
Personally, I see no reason to collect any Kennedys, except the silver ones. The other Kennedys dont go up in price. I'd rather spend my money on silver.
For a 200 count bag of circulating quality coins from the mint they want $.73 cents each, why would anyone buy them at that price?
Because they want to. To each’s own.
US Mint should kind of stick with low mintage and focus on better packaging for those items
I did half-dollar roll searches way back in the later 1970s. At that time, I'd cash my paycheck and get it in rolls, then stop my moped somewhere shady on the way home (I couldn't wait until I got there). Back then, most people weren't aware there was still silver to be found (or didn't care), and I found quite a few-typically 3-5 out of a roll of 20 (mostly 40%). Definitely worth my effort. I''ve still got those, along with a few rolls of 1971 to 1978 AU Halfs I found.
Ah, the good ol' days.
I think by releasing them for circulation, they're hoping they will circulate and be used in commerce. But, I don't believe that's going to happen. Some people hoard them, creating the impression they're rare which perpetuates the illusion...since they're rarely seen in pocket change largely due to hoarding. But, people don't want to use them, for whatever the reason. Just like the dollar coins and $2 bills, they're just not circulating, regardless of the Mint's desires.
That's awesome. All the 40%ers I have I found coin roll hunting but haven't had any luck lately. I have a partially filled tube of them id really like to finish off. That's awesome you still have them. Definitely brings the dollar cost average down.
None of those forms of currency will work in a common vending machine. So, people don't want them.
@@DownSouthPickinnStackin Sounds like a chicken or egg situation to me.
I had a relative that worked at a store in 1965 and worked the cash register.. She exchanged all her clad for 90% Silver that she could... Thanks for the story.
Only interested in 1964 Kennedy's and I'm in the UK ... as well as silver and gold I also have a lot of US Constitutional all 1964 and earlier ... also have Silver Morgan dollars and Peace dollars ... I have a Carson City silver dollar ... I also managed to get one of the 2019 Enhanced reverse proof silver eagles, the lowest ever mintage ... basically a Brit with US precious metals and a lot more
2019 ERP, Nice!
I am a Britt…😂
HI Wolvie . I collect Half Dollars . I do order the Kennedy roll sets
from the mint . I want a good non scratched up for my collection .With
all the 2023 Kennedys minted . I have not seen one in Circulation or at
a bank . It would be interesting to find out where all the Halves are going :-))
I’ve been coin roll searching for 2 years now, between 2&4 boxes a week, the only NIFC I save is the 87’, last year I found over $700 melt in free silver, Keep Stackin bro
I didn’t realize the ‘87 is NIFC. Do you save the ‘87 because it special to you or are you saying the ‘87 is actually an NIFC?
@@everettwhite9874the 87’ was only in Mint & Proof Sets, low mintage
The U.S. Mint has been issuing some Kennedy's into circulation every year at face value since 2021, even having charged a premium at first for those purchased from the U.S. Mint. I know. I go to the banks and get a cased of half dollars every week. And in 21-24, I was being given cases of mint halves, so many so, that I've had to turn many back. Aloha.
Looking thru rolls of halves for a 64 is painful for me, i hate doing that.
That is a lot of 50 cent coins that is only worth 12 cents in metal
Definitely strange, especially how there not much demand. Just makes me frustrated because id hate to get a box from the bank and have it be a brand new box all 2024's. Not interested in them. I just want to find 40 and 90 %ers and errors.
I hear it is because there are 100 kennedy half dollars in every tomahawk cruise missle 😂 j/k I am not buying these
Also I have never seen anyone but people who steal them use them to buy anything. So why do they keep making them with such a high mintage?
Called greedy SOB’s
Good info brother !!
I found .. 1 BOX $500 Of 2023 when coin roll hunting
Just a fun fact ! With the melt value at about 60 cents me and Biden are filling our garages with them.
Wolvie another Great Video stacked with Great Info as well. As for your questions, who knows.. Keep the videos coming, & 💥Boom 👊!!!
Picking up the 2-roll set this year. It was either that or set the money on fire, so what the hey...
LOL, Funny.. Thanks Andy
Good for the black jack tables at casino’s
Forget the jfk’s…. Save and buy the 1776-1976-S drummer boys silver quarter. 💵💰💵💰
I collect rolls every year for my Dad and I. When the design changes I will not. The last year may be collectible.
I like the jfk coin. I'd pick up a 2024
Remember, if the Federal Reserve Paper Money Fails all we have left is USA Minted Coins.
Here's my answer. The mint losses $ on cents and nickel. If they would stop making them, all sales would be rounded to the dime. Then they could also drop the quater, bring back the 20 cent piece, and just mint 3 coins : dime, 20; and half.
I think they mint the half dollars to reach a certain dollar amount that congress has written in bills that have passed. The half dollar would be the fastest and cheapest way to reach that dollar amount in the bills that come from Congress. The lower minted coins would be the penny and nickel I would think because they cost more to mint than they are worth.
Gotta spend a fortune on coin roll hunting of half dollars to find 1 measly silver one worth nothing basically. Save your money folks.
I haven't seen a wheat penny in circulation in 20 years or so. I doubt roll searching for silver is worth it nowadays. 40 years ago? Sure.
I still see many 40% Silver in rolls and I do find Wheaties now and then
@@SilverWolverine95 Maybe the are "printing" 50 cent pieces in response to inflation. The half dollar coin may be the new (fiat) quarter.
My favorite coin is the kennedy...I love the accented hair variety too
So the quarter is now as useless as the penny, nickel, and dime?
Crazy, good research as always. The coin should be popular as it makes a high seigniorage for the mint, the design is atrocious though, should have been changed long ago to renew its popularity.
Wolvie, I have a question that’s not about this post. I just look at Harriett Tubman 3 coin set as well as The greatest generation. The price for those 3 coin set is $922.00. I’m pretty sure the price was cheaper when they come out. Just wondering what your thoughts are on this. Thanks
I will have to take a look.. The price goes up for the Gold weekly adjusted according to the US Mint price grid for all metal except for Silver.
Probably going to go overseas.
Yeah an coming back as fake silver dollars🤔😮
The best grade will likely be found in the US mint rolls from the mint directly
Just saying
Maybe but they are all circulated quality
60 year anniversary🚀🛸🛰
How much per hour does Coin Roll Hunting pay. I think I'd rather just go Fishing for Coins on eBay. I do pull all the copper pennies out of my change though.
It's not about a price per hour. It's about the Hunt and it's about bringing down your dollar cost averaging by getting a $10 piece of silver for 50 cents.
@@AnxiousStacker Just like me Hunting on eBay for a Fine Morgan so dirty nobody wants it, removing the dirt and finding a Proof Coin underneath, not cost effective LOL, I understand I will watch you hunt while I clean.
@@TobaccoRowe1960 if it works for you thats awesome. I've heard about too many people getting fakes. And cleaning coins is a risky business anyway so I'm not sure I'd profit
No audio for me.
No Audio? Seems nobody else had that problem
Yes I have gotten several 500 p here were I live on the west coast during my coin roll hunting
Finally been seeing 2023 D here lately, just started seeing 2024 D this last box I got this week.
Yes my bank orders them for me shot out to BOA
Thanks for the info...
The new Kennedy half dollar is the new quarter!! At least it feels that way when I'm at the grocery store! The only Kennedys I keep have at least 40% silver! 1 exceptions, I did get the reverse proof with the Apollo set so I could have all 8 coins.
WHO CARES ??? THERE IS NO SILVER IN THEM SO LET THE FED KEEP THEM FOR THEMSELVES!!! 😉 They are criminals as far as I am concerned.
Blah blah blah… US Mint sux
