- We went to our first solo camp!
I made preparations for a comfortable camp, but it rained all day long, and my hands were bitten by leeches and wasps attacked...
It was quite difficult to camp as I imagined, but I think that I could have a good time.
My camp may be awkward, but I hope you kindly watch it.

Garu is so well behaved.
Also, some tips for getting a fire started - take cotton balls and cover them in fat or grease like leftover oils from meats, let it cool and harden and then cover your cotton balls in it. You can also look up how to char cotton balls or make charred cloth.
It is also a good idea to use a standard lighter for lighting fires.
You also want to make sure you have a lot of tinder for catching the embers. You did not seem to have much.
Do not be discouraged, everyone needs practice at these things. If you do not light bonfires or campfires frequently you do not have much experience. Keep trying and you will succeed!
Petroleum jelly and cotton balls. They don't smell like meat or go rancid.

Sorry your camp got rained on that takes the fun out of it. Still you and Garu were dry inside tent.
Next time take some dryer lint from the clothes dryer filter. It starts fire very quickly.
Also, in case of rain take. Small tarp and string. Or even a roll of a
Plastic drop cloth used for painting. You can fashion a dry place by tying tarp off on trees or use branches to prop up sheet of plastic and you can sit outside and cook.

Actually birds with clipped wings CAN still fly it only makes it so they can’t fly too far up or too far away 😑🙄

私はフクロウたちを野生に近い生活環境で育てることを心がけています。
うちは特にメンフクロウということで、
野生であれば１日に何キロも飛ぶ訳ですから放し飼いにしたり草むらでフライトをさせたり、
一緒に出掛けたり毎日日光浴させたり自由に水浴びが出来るようにいつでも水を置いておいたり。
SNSだと飛ばすなという声もありますが、
私は大空の下を飛んでこそ鳥だと思います。
ガルーちゃんもげんさんの惜しみ無い愛情に包まれて幸せを噛み締めていると思います。
こういうガチのアクシデントのあるキャンプが逆にリアルで動画見ごたえありました❗最近フクロウ動画見るのはまってます！それにしても大人しくて可愛いですね！？
