Marmadashvilli over Ramsdale all day, every day, and twice on Saturday. I wouldn’t put money into arsenals kitty out of spite, especially for a reject like Ramsdale. I don’t think either he or Pope would accept direct completion but if we do get him, that would mean a GK, Hall, Livramento, Botman, Tonali, Willock, Miley, Anderson, Gordon, Isak and Minteh all under 24 years old which is what we have to look at for FFP reasons. Get players in early, let them build value and retain or move on.

It's difficult to get stripes wrong but Adidas seem to have managed it.
Kelly is a wonderful player good in the air strong defender lovely left foot very quick and has a lovely long throw as well his time has come to have a change so Newcastle you won't be disappointed

Mamardashvili can be our number 1 for next ten years. The only probs I have with Lloyd Kelly is his injury record which should be a big part of transfer recruitment strategy. Just add sesko and rw and we can really challenge.
Arsenal are being heavily linked with Sesko and are probably favourites to sign him... which is a shame, coz I've watched him play and he's quality
Love a keeper who fills the goal, remember the giant Van Der Sarr? Brilliant 👌 Bento the Brazilian very good, love Kobel BVB keeper would be my choice but would cost a fortune. Why the thick stripes? Very old school. Need modern, Smaller stripes are more visual some of the Juve kits have been outstanding, designers need to take a look. Always loved that Puma kit you have Paul with the blue pinstripes and blue tail. Puma really looked outside the box with that one and Addidas need to follow suit. The grandad collar? give over the 90's are history for a reason.
I live near Dean court and have watched Kelly up close on many occasions. Really good player. Will be a terrific deal if we can pull that off. Great content btw Paul.

Great news show as usual Paul, thanks so much. On the goalkeeper situation Marmadashvilli all day long over Ramsdale. Better price than what Arsenal are asking for Ramsdale. 3 years younger as well. Pope is getting on so our lads may be able to sell the toon on a shared time in the top flight with the promise of him being number one for years after Pope retires. A good 10 years plus out of him.
I would take both Kelly and Tosin right now. Both free and really good. Strengthens the back for the first half of the season, along with Schar and Burn, with Botman and Lacelles to come back giving us some depth. That will give us a much stronger midfield in depth, the same with the backline. Two nearly top line goalkeepers and that really makes us fairly strong. So up till now we have only spent around £35/40m. Should be enough left for a very good reliable fit striker which is essential. As for the right wing taking into consideration price and injuries in my opinion Neto is not worth the risk at the quoted £60m+. I would rather take the risk with Minteh. A choice of front line from Barnes, Gordon, Isak, Murphy Minteh and a new striker seems to me stronger than what we have. all three lines have players more than capable of switching roles if needed on occasion. Considering the injuries we have had this season and the dozen or more points that Dubs has cost us this season that should leave us with a squad capable of a top 4 finish. Getting rid of the dead wood in the squad and bringing a couple of the kids through should be enough to compete even through another injury disaster.

I'm really hoping we can get the two defenders on free transfers. It will mean we can go all out for a good attacking right side player. Would like Wilson to stay and bring in a young player to learn from him.

Marmadashvilli is the correct age. All our current goalkeepers are over 30 years. We are losing Dubz and Karius. The club should tell every potential signing that they are guaranteed first team football, if... they are better than everyone else.

Watched Chiesa @ Juventus last night turn the game around at 3 nil down - also has had injuries but what a player he would be and he would probably be a similar price to Neto.
No, he has been bang average for two seasons. He barely matched Jacob Murphys output. He will cost to much for a gamble

It's funny how all these injuries come to the premiership as the increased stoppage time comes in, no wonder players are getting injured when they are playing 100+ minutes

Not impressed with new strip. Stripes are too thick and a big white patch on the back looks awful. Ramsdale not worth any where near £30m the other option makes a lot more sense.
The jury is still out on how well Pope comes back after his shoulder operation. We should be signing a No 1

He is an absolute beast of a keeper, and only 23!! It would be huge. Surprising Real or PSG haven't appeared interested but that could change once a bid is put in. Be a very ballsey statement of intent so lets wait and see. Either way, THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT THE FUTURE IS TOON 😎
I can't help but think Mamardashvili or Pope wouldn't be happy not being number one.
Its a bit bland and needs a splash of colour. Here's an idea right: take that shirt add some little details or an extra stripe and lay it as seen in this picture you used and lay it on a map of Newcastle and have west end colours on the right sleeve, east end left, Northumberland red and yellow on the back of the collar and blue trim at the bottom to represent the Tyne?

When you have two keepers fit you NEVER rotate...it's a specialist position and you stick with who's in the sticks on form end of.
By the way..... in retrospect is anyone else really pleased that we didn't manage to get Maddison last year?
As opposed to buying Tonali? Not being funny but that was a bit of a disaster so far, I think Tonali is a great player but let's be honest he didn't help this year much
@@JNRF5385 Agree totally. He looks class so hopefully, when things settle down next season and when we aren't splashing about out of our depth in the champions league, he may still be a great signing.
Lloyd Kelly is a canny player but he's a bit on the small side for a centre half these days and that's my only worry. However, he's free.
Transfermarkt have Neto valued at €55 million. He’s definitely an injury risk though. A fit Neto is worth £60 million all day long. Factor in the risk element I wouldn’t want Newcastle to pay more than £40 million. Purely because of budget reasons and value for money. I would rather spend £60 million on Olise however.

There is breaking news that Toni Kroos has announced his retirement and that Bruno might be touted as his replacement within this window of his release clause. OBVIOUSLY I hope it will not happen but its definitely squeaky bum time.
Yes marmadashvilli would be better choice than Ramsdale for the toon and we don’t want to pay ridiculous price for serten players to other clubs and yes new strips could do with more stripes for me to yes Kelly be a good signing for me

Tosin Aderbiyoro, Llyod Kelly and Ross Barkley is high risk for largely unproven players. Tosin and Kelly are okay had decent seasons and Barkley had a renaissance after 6 years of abject football.
If they repeat good deals but if they go backwards its not good

Had a feeling the kit would be pretty dull after all the hype. No effort to play on the past or do anything unique. All smoke, no fire. More interested to see the away shirts now.

I wouldn't buy him I think we need like 6 players before a top keeper, although we could do with a cheap better keeper. Not sure who but maybe there is a loan/free available
You build from the back before getting quality attackers. You make that backline top class then the rest will solve itself. Look at what we did last season. We had the best defence in the league and got 4th. This season we were one of the highest scorers but worst defences and we got 7th. Not a coincidence. We need to strengthen the backline first.

Marmadashvilli over Ramsdale for me. Is better keeper in a lot of areas and is only on £25000 pw v £120000pw for Ramsdale. We could offer double his wages and over 5yrs save £18M over Ramsdale. Ramsdale would only make sense if he was £15M and he took a large drop in wages and Marmadashvilli was unavailible. Kelly sounds to be right for us cover for LB and CB raising the bottom of our squad quality wise and could even start given Botman is out over DBD. Tosin I think is waiting to see who get European football before making a decision if he has not already made one and could be a replacement long term for Schar. Neto no for me at £60M Olise or Malen for me before Neto

If you want to play for a big club then competition is a fact of life. If you don't have the mentality to back yourself against anybody then you don't belong at a big club.
