Further proof that speakers are by far the most important part of one's tone...

The biggest problem with budget and solid state amps has always been the speakers. They cheap out on the speakers to have a product for low budget players. An amp circuit is an amp circuit and there are only so many ways to do it. It’s always the speakers. You should get one of those old gorilla amps and see how it does with a new speaker 😂 I bet those can even be made to sound good. Cheers!

Yes with the right speakers and some judicious EQ-ing you get get amazing tones with even solid states 🤘

Well said brother my first half stack was a Crate GC 130C. 1995 era this was the solid state sound for crunch.

This sounds awesome as im a fan of good 90s solid state amps like Peavey and Crate ive never tried Randall as their prices have skyrocketed since dimebag Darrel it seems but im sure they are great i dont like tube amps price or their fragile nature and upkeep costs i llke the plug and go nature of good solid state amps and this sounds great

Fortunately, my ears are so bad I can't tell the difference between tube and solid state lol. After years of dealing with tube changes, leaky caps, bias drift, red plating, and thermal breakdown of solder joints... I have NO tube amps anymore.

@@dcooper830 i see and hear youtube videos of tubes vs solid state and usually on dirty i prefer the solid state tone although i know on youtube sound is supposed to be different than in person but i only usually only prefer a tibe sound on clean and i very rarely use clean and if i do i like chorus and effects to make it not so boring sounding,im not putting clean tone down i love clean tones but i like the dirt channel way more usually or a good dirt pedal which dirt pedals are usually sood state,im also cheap and dont like being extra cautious around my amp i like if they can take a beating and still play just fine lol

Any plans to do a video on the original crate enclosed Crate IIR we see hiding off to the side?

@@dcooper830Thanks! I remember when those amps first came out and, being a tube amp snob at the time, didn't give them a second thought.
I finally embraced Crates in the early 2000s when I bought an XT65R (GC's and Musician's Friend's version of the GT65R). IMHO a great sounding amp that has remained in my stable long after many, many, many more sought after and expensive amps have come and gone.

De cuantos ohms deberian ser las bocinas del gabitene respecto al amplificador. Ya que creo la bocina del amplificador es de 4 ohoms. Espero respuesta. Gracias, saludos desde Monterrey mexico
