My dad drove a Hornet. It was good, durable car, even if it was period-correct avocado green. And our Chev wagon had a spoiler! (Standard. Didn't look very racy, though. I think the idea was to deflect rain from the rear window. No rear wipers in those days.) A good friend of mine drove a Maverick, and loved it. We went lots of places in that car. As I recall there was a Mercury badge called the Comet. Thanks for the trip home! It's great to remember these rides.

I own a 1972 442 for show and weekend driver but I love the style and smaller size of that Maverick. Eye catching. What a good looking design.
