This is cool. With my Leo, I set up my timers so that the UVB lamps would shut off about 30 mins before the LED, to at least get a rough semblance of a dusk. Would do it in reverse for dawn. This is so much better. Especially with crepuscular species.
These look amazing, thank you for showing how they work and the benefits they have for flora and fauna. I have a 4 foot vivarium from Viperia to set up and I will definitely do that with these lights so my Leo can move into her new home with a more natural day-night cycle, including dawn and dusk, when she currently has.
@@leopardgeckotalkHello! Please tell me, what Arcadia supplements should I use for an adult leopard gecko? I don't have UV lighting. My leo has Enigma syndrome. She is almost 9 years old. Could my leopard gecko develop a vitamin D3 deficiency because RevitaliseD3 contains a low dose of this vitamin? Thank you!

These look amazing! I love the current gen Arcadia jungle dawn and shadedweller, and I have them on an on/off timer, but I’ve really wanted a product like this. Something to recreate sunrise and sunset. Amazing
Yes, there's been a delay in shipment, out of arcadia's control. But they should be available in a few weeks. If you follow the arcadia page I'm sure we'll post once they've arrived :)
This is what I’m hoping to put into my new enclosure. Have an old 4x2x2 beardie enclosure that’s been empty for years and just planning a Leo mansion. Love the idea of dawn and dusk for both the Leo and the plants!

Hey Rebecca! 06:45 - I guess the Halogen is Rex's heating spot? I'm curious on how come you don't use a deep heat projector for him? His tank has really grown in and he himself looks absolutely gorgeous! Keep us updated on him, especially when you start to train to handle him. Greetings from Germany!
Thanks :) yeah so I originally used a DHP, but after talking to the breeder she recommended a halogen since he is more of a diurnal species, and is out the most during the day, so the light from the halogen is more appropriate :)
Can't to see more about this light and how it is helping the gecko's and... not going to lie... this light is making me want to get a gecko, and or plant some plants too. Love your videos very much and can't wait to see more. 😁💚🦎🌱

I've ordered these for my leo (UVB) and p grandis (UVB and Jungle Dawn) today. Looking forward to getting them as I hate the lights just switching on full blast all at once, especially for my grandis as she doesn't have eyelids. Going to look into adjusting the DHP thermostats too so they have a slight warming up and cooling down period too.

Hiya, I'm having an issue with my luminIZE, I just set it up yesterday. Whenever i press "apply schedule" the light just goes onto full brightness, no matter what the actual schedule is 😖 how do you fix this?
I've just had a look at these and I'm finding it incredibly confusing, especially because unfortunately my crested gecko passed away a bit ago. Apologies for all the questions, but I find myself out of practice :( Also, wouldn't you have to replace this every year? or is the lamp and the device seperate?
So you will need to replace the unit, as the lumenize units are different as they have bluetooth, etc and work with the app, but the actual lamps are the same.
I am so excited for these lamps! They are everything I wanted for my reptiles :D Highly recommend everyone go listen to Animals at home podcast/ youtube for the interview with John Courteney-Smith all about this new tech :)
That's very interesting! By the way, what do you think of the geckopia reptile liner? Do you think it's better or worse than paper towel. I have been wondering this for a while and was wondering what you think.
Liners can hold onto bacteria, often even after being washed, while you're fully replacing paper towel each time it gets dirty. Either way they both deprive your gecko from being able to dig.
Hi, been a while. Do you know if these are available in the US? If not, is there a time frame/ window when they will be? Also, is the UVB standard UVB? Has there been any innovations with led UVB in recent times?
Thank you for the quick response and update, I really appreciate it! So since experimenting with the new lights, I was wondering can you make a lightning effect? I wouldn't try on the UVB bulbs as they're sensitive, but what about the jungle dawn LEDs? Also, since the uvb lights now dim, and save 30% energy, does that mean that uvb coating on the light lasts longer-extending the duration of the bulbs life?
My mom has thought of somehow simulating sunrise and sunset with my bearded dragon's tank, but the biggest hurdle with that, from what I understand, would be getting the heat to match up with it, i.e. less heat in sunrise and sunset, more heat in midday. I don't really know of any dimmable heat lamps. And LED bulbs, while they do simulate the visible light spectrum of the sun, they do not give off much if any heat from what I understand, much like how UVB bulbs don't give off much heat. But yeah, if this dimmable light technology could somehow be applied to heat lamps too, that would be nice cause then you would get the natural temperature swings instead of midday temperature while the light is on and then suddenly, no added heat, nighttime temperature, and it might even increase the lifetime of the heat bulb so that you wouldn't have to change bulbs as often. I know my bearded dragon has gone a couple days without the heat bulb a few times cause of it burning out, this is partly why I try to keep my room temperature at high 70s to low 80s in Fahrenheit during the day is so that the temperature doesn't drop any more than what the cool side temperature should be in case the heat bulb goes out.
This technology already exists and is in the form of dimming thermostats which you plug your heat source into. I'd say thermostats dimming your heat source is more important than dimming the LED lights, because it can be an electrical and burn hazards. Some really good ones are VEstat and Herpstat. The herpstat actually allows you to set 4 temperatures across the day so it would specifically let you have the temperature peak mid day, for their basking temperature. Thermostats *control* the temperature, while thermo*meters* only read and tell you the temperature.
Otherwise, there are more simple dimming t'stats, but those ones don't have as many features, generally just one set temperature to the appropriate basking temperature your animal needs.
I'm highly interested in buying 3 for my leos. Im in the US, are the UVB kits going to be available in stores like petsmart/ petco, or are we going to have to order them off a website and get them shipped internationally?
Hi I have a question im looking for a lamp timer for my Leo im going out of town and I have no one to turn his shade dweller does anyone have any products they have tried I live in texas
This is a great idea, however 120 plus dollars on two lights is kinda hard for just the average keeper. I would love to be able to do something like this for my Leo, but it’s just not in a budget right now as for that I could completely redo her 40 gallon tank.
Can anyone help me? If I were to buy these, which I am, would the led and uvb light be the same length? Because I do want my gecko to be able to escape the uvb if need be
Can someone help, my leopard gecko got some scrapes from scratching herself on a rock they have now turned into big scab like thing she eats normally and acts normally
Yes, I know there's a delay because shipment got held up :( (typical), but in a few weeks they should be there. Hopefully some places may offer pre-ordering.
Unfortunately, I have had 2 out of 3 LumenIZE units fail within 10 months, so I am not a fan at all. Also, Arcadia is failing as a supplier because they do not yet make guards for the LumenIZE units, which are bigger than the regular prot5 units.
Been using dimming lights on my aquarium for a few years. When I got my Gargoyle Gecko i was quite disappointed to find there was no dimming systems like this with dimmable uvb’s and such, or atleast none that I could find, not a fan of sudden/on off (although my garg does get a slow increase of light in the morning, since her tank is next to a window and she gets the dawn light) Definitely won’t be able to get this system right away, i’d feel bad getting rid of my jungledawn/shadedweller as they’re practically brand new, but will definitely be looking into this when the time come & people have more experience and info about them
Just got this product based on your recommandation. I have to say I felt quite underwhelmed when I received it. The apps looks like some early iphone apps from 15 years ago. unpractical, not intuitive. I thought there would be a simple mode to match the light on sunrise/sunset. But no this has to be painfully done through the app. Lights increment can only be done by 20%. The manual mode does not work and the light does not react as per the app controls. Very disappointed especially for the price paid.
It is amazing what marketing can do. On one hand, you have these jungle dawn lights, marketed towards reptile keepers, vivariums. Absolutely nothing special about them, glorified shop lights. Yet, people pay hundreds of dollars for them. On the other hand, these arcadia lumenize, who seem to revolutionize reptile keeping by offering dimming. I get that they have uv b, and it is useful, but dimming? There are other hobbies out there that seem to be years ahead in this area, like fish keeping, fresh or saltwater. Why people who keep reptiles do not take a peek into what other hobbies are offering? Sunset/sunrise it is not a new thing, it is being used in aquarium hobby for many years now. You can create sunset and sunrise, and you can choose what color you want it to be, at any minute of the day. There are better things out there.
Well I do explain that at the beginning. I guess 'gifted' would be more appropriate as no one has been paid to advertise anything. I'm just sharing my experience. :) at the end of the day the reptiles can't lie haha :)

There are better things out there.
come on! saying the new acadia has made your lizard grow lot quicker!
Well as we in Europe are under threat of T5 ban ...why have they brought this out do arcadia know something we don't 🤔🤔
Shouldn't you put #ad in the title? You work for arcadia and I assume get all their products free so is this really an unbiased review?
Well I do explain that at the beginning. I guess 'gifted' would be more appropriate as no one has been paid to advertise anything. I'm just sharing my experience. :) at the end of the day the reptiles can't lie haha :)
