They both r my favourite classical musicians...This concept of Jasrangi is mostly sung by Mewati Gharana Musicians and Ashwiniji though not from this Gharana, has done the Jasrangi with Pt Sanjeevji many times... But this one is the best, which has brought a lot of tears in my eyes..both have explored their raag to the peak..Hats off tho both of them...

I tried doing this (both raags in both pitches). Even though the swaras are the same, it is incredibly difficult to decouple the two raags in my mind while doing this, and return to the correct Sa in both raags.

Her name is not Ashwani, which a name for a male. Spelling of her name is Ashwini. His name is Sanjeev and not Sanjjeev.

Psyche1954 when Ashwini sings solo as a student of Jaipur Ataruli Gharana she hardly or never uses sargam in her Gayaki but in Jasrangi she has moulded purposefully to the Mewati tradition to make Jasrangi melodious & popular for the sake of popularising Indian Classical Music. Dr. Dilip S. Naik ( E.N.T Surgeon, Mumbai).

I did not know of the two forms of Ashwini based on gender. Do they have different meanings? I am of course assuming they are named after the star.
Very nice indeed. Excellent demonstration of moorchhana.
But the audience seems to be mostly Indian. Hard to understand why he talks to them in English and not in his own language though.
They all have different languages. Some possibly don't understand Marathi or even Hindi. Then again some may not understand English.
Music thus, unites all languages and everybody understands.

Why all this fuss about language What is wrong if he uses English Remember that there are thousands of South Indians also who want things explained in English
Suppose his performance is in Chicago or Sanfrancisco it would be relevant to explain nuences in English rather than in Hindi which the South Indians cannot understand

Being as an experimental know how to rendering two raags are on different scales . It is soothing for 30 minutes. after then it makes conversion in the symphony touch.There is totally out of in frame of melodic form.Thuogh,our North - Indian style classical music is suitable in melodic form.Such types of experience of experiments will be harmful for Indian music listening lovers & for traditional Gayki management. There is fully lost of soul's sound.because, even layaa temperament of frequency may differ between two differ'nt rend'ring vocalist. Such as many harmful roots are producing . Mainly, How can produce good listener & Thinkers in Indian classical. Bhavana & Bhav - aung- rang all is destroyed. My ✋ folding request that Let it should be consider to stop .
The thing I don't understand is why the heel u speak in English. If the audience don't understand why the f r they listening hindi n if they understand hindi why the f u speaking in English

If not English which of the several languages should he speak in - Hindi, Punjabi, Marathi, Bengali, Telugh, Tamil, Kannada, Gujarati??? To name but a few.
Come on, this is chauvinism - please understand that this was sung @ a major sammelan with people speaking many languages attending. Not all may know Marathi or Hindi.
