Hello Jeff, thank you so much for sharing these teachings on Job. They really are a blessing. Do you by any chance have the last session - Ch 26-42 - and if so, could you kindly share? Can't seem to find the last bit anywhere. Thank you and God Bless.
Quite a while ago. Probably around or even before 2000. I have fond memories of my mom n dad listening to this man and discussing it with my sis and me.
Sometimes I feel like I'm reading this book differently than everyone else 😭 Bildad is characterised as the harsh one? I thought he was the most reasonable of the friends; short, to the point even a little kind? Am I crazy?
That's interesting you saw it like that Kate, and I can kind of see that! But I think it was more the message he was suggesting about Job which was that if you repent you'll receive back your prosperity & material things - in the first speech. In the second speech he is talking about how God punishes the wicked suggesting that Job has been wicked. So, basically repentance = prosperity, and if you are not prosperous you haven't repented and all those who ARE experiencing bad things it's because they must be in sin or wickedness. In the end, God eventually in 42:7 rebukes all three of them: "I am angry with you...because you have not spoken truth about me." I'm sure all three had good intentions but they were off the mark it seems. I hope that helps!
Best teacher I ever had.
Thank you Jesus
I asked the Lord to bless you and I gave HIM THANKS for you today Jeff! Thanks for uploading!!
