*My friend had this on cassette when we were in high school. I swear to God, we listened to this whole tape everyday for like a whole year in his car, which only had a tape player. I love this song.*

Respect 👊
Goon, my buddy picked me up (from the getto) he was from up hill, in a truck we called the tank and became punks in. Listening to Let's Go, blew my life away to where it's at today...which is good 33 now. I know what you mean.
Same.

Just happened to me...
David Denko? I cant say i herd of him..
I know Tim was was referring to
"Desmond Denker" a Root Reggae artist from around 1960's- ish if i remember correctly. I might be off by a few yrs. But u get my point
✌😎🚬
@@filthyrichpunk583 ok
That is one juicy bass line
Pretty radical if you ask me
Aren’t all Matt’s bass lines juicy?
Profile pic sublime
@@fagman5297 not really. He incorporates walking lines which are very popular in ska and reggae bass parts. His are a bit busier perhaps but he’s not really playing a line that a guitarist would play.
he jazzes it up when he needs. Stays busy while letting the vocals and guitar breathe. Pretty skillful @@kcrknp
I remember being a very small child and one of my moms friends put this song on and said “this is punk rock” and that was the first time i heard the word rock ever in my life. You could say i was hooked after that.
I lost my virginity when we were listening to this album... This song is very near and dear to my heart..
thats fckin awesome, i wasnt listening to music, we were watching the Zodiac movie lol happy groundhogs day 2000
LOL nice one Cheers! @@eatassonthefirstdate
I feel bad for the young generation who don't know Rancid, damn shame, One of the Best Bands Ever!!!!
Wish music nowadays was as good.
Amen
1st heard at age 4 , still listening on my bday at 33!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 roots
Dude My Generation needs this type of Music back
be like max and teenage bottle rocket?
There is music like this in your generation you idiot. You just have to look for it.Honestly it's pretty easy to find. Also even if there wasn't punk music today than who cares just listen to this! Why do you need a newer band if you have one you like. And you don't need to go spouting your naive opinions on a You Tube video just listen to the song man.
I guess he is trying to say its sad there are not many kids listening to this kind of music. What he doesnt understand it was never different. :-D :-D :-D
Thats what the punk is all about. To stick out no matter what every out sticking nail will be hammered in. :-D :-D :-D
I agree and im 14
Seeing this live is really something to behold.
It really is
Nearly had my eyebrows rings ripped out in that pit.
(Ironically they rejected and left me with cool scars there that makes me look like some kinda Star Trek alien race, lol)
1998 Warped Tour, Kingdome parking lot Seattle, kingdome doesn't even exist anymore.
It was like 90° that day.
I got heatstroke, mad sunburn. My poor scalp from sunburn with a mohawk up!
I also wore a fishnet shirt and that left an interesting burn!looked like I had snake scales burned on me from the pattern too lol!!
Rancid rocked though! But it was just too hot!
@@Sindollx666x the kingdome was pretty cool. I've been as a kid for a Seahawks and Mariners games with my dad. Good memories, not quite as wild as yours though lol
@@Sindollx666x that’s what you get for wearing stupid rings in your face
@@dalesfailssagaofasuslord783 except it was barbells. I should've clarified. My lip piercings were fine though
. I think the scars are wickedly cool scars alien-esque brow ridging, cuz even professional piercers in the 90s were still learning the concept of surface piercings.
Im 16 again .. Roots Radical . What a bass line .
I KNOW RIGHT?? My brother is always complaining about how “wacky” the baseline is whenever we play it together (I’m a drummer btw).
exact age...
I used to listen to Rancid's Let's Go on the way to wrestling matches in high school, then this came out and it became my wrestling music. I won a lot.
This album got me through a rough time a few years after it came out.
Wore out the tape playing it every every time I was in my car.
Man I heard this on a classic rock station when I was a kid and I got hooked on RANCID ever since.
Ahhh...Rancid....the music of my generation.
I play guitar and sing, and let me tell you something...when I first heard this song, it's bassline ALMOST made me drop my guitar and pick up a bass. It's that damn good.
Cracked Dagger no reason you can’t do both man, I do both and I would and will do both if an opportunity comes up
wow, so incredibly and utterly - amazinglishly - astonishingly significant, and interesting to read.
Wow! I mean, if it made you, *the* Cracked Dagger, ALMOST start playing bass then the bass line MUST be incredible.
Matt Freeman is one of the best bassists around and that's not up to debatr
one of my favorite songs
This song will NEVER get old. Fite me.
You mean fight you?
@@orangewolf1093 Purposely spelled it wrong, lol
@@Rilekilla i didn't type that bro? i wasn't even on 3 hours ago 💀💀
Lyrics:
Took the 60 bus out of downtown Cambell Ben Zandito
He was on there he was waitin' for me
All the punk rockers and the moon stompers
Are out on the corners where
They sparing for change
I started thinking, you know I started drinking
I don't remember too much of that day
Something struck me funny when we ran out of money
Where do you go now when you're only fifteen?
With the music execution and the talk of revolution
It bleeds in me
And it goes
Give 'em the boot, the roots, the radicals
Give 'em the boot, you know I'm a radical
Give 'em the boot, the roots, the reggae on my stereo
The radio was playing, Desmond Dekker was singing
On the 43 bus as we climbed up the hill
Nothing incoming but the reggae drumming
And we all come from unloving homes, I said
Why even bother and pick up the bottle
Mr. Bus Driver please let these people on
Rude girl Carol was a mini-skirt girl
My blurry vision saw nothin' wrong
With the music execution and the talk of revolution
It bleeds in me
And it goes
Give 'em the boot, the roots, the radicals
Give 'em the boot, you know I'm a radical
Give 'em the boot, the roots, the reggae on my stereo
On my stereo
Yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

Reminds me of being a teenager. Walking the streets with my discman...with skip protection and bass boost on.
Whooo! 90’s & 2000’s Throwback! 😀😂

Hello college years dude love this stuff 41 yr old fart here ha
36 but who give a fuck
I love the album cover; very Minor Threat-esque.
Emrah Uncu I was thinking the same thing. An homage to Ian McKaye
its picture of lars sitting
They’re copying the “Minor Threat pose”. It’s become somewhat iconic amongst old punks.
LIKE ALWAYS RANCID
Yeahhh...
I just found out that... this song is good!!
Welcome to the club.

My neighbor in prison had this CD one of the best songs on it
20 years old when I first heard it and before I ever entered the rat race
Underrated band.
+Vig Dickson WHAT? How is Rancid underrated, do you even know what the punk is?
+Pavel Veit Do you even English? Six people agree with me. /case
+Vig Dickson you made a mistake, it should have been "do you even THE English" ;)
Lol
I can only assume you're a youngster. Bands like Rancid and NoFX are pretty much responsible for modern punk. Anyone who knows anything about punk knows who they are. Hard to call them underrated.
FUCK YEAH!!!
tell me what was the last song by rancid?
yeah!! yeah!! yeah!! yeaaaah!!!!! ♪ ♫

Rancid isn't even in my top 10, but the bass player is best in punk rock IDC who you are. I correct my self DD Ramone. He wrote 95% of their music.

Magic cleans off my hands every second that I want so when I picnic at the pond I don't have to wipe my palms. I've got Hermione Granger's blood inside the core of my wand and I'm enchanting musical equipment to play my favorite songs. No one's allowed to come over at this hour 'cause I'm using an enchanted sponge and towel on my shower plus my levitating garden hose is watering my flowers and I hexed the neighbor's plants so all the leaves are facing downward. If you don't like Hogwarts you're not going far like a three-headed dog asleep beside a harp you might as well say screw being sharp unless you're me 'cause I can see inside the dark and pleasing Granger isn't hard.
