Hi! Thanks for the great video. What seeding rate did you use for the rye, wheat, and peas in the fall? Did you broadcast or drill them? How many weeks before planting organic beans would you recommend dishing the rye? I want to cultivate and rotary hoe before planting beans, and I’m curious about trash plugging the hoe. Thanks very much!
Yes, tillage’s can kill but some of the mycorrhizal fungi. But with an organic option you pretty much have to do tillage to manage weeds and residue. The cover crops helps with some of the impact it has in the soil.
You're not farming fungi or mycorrhizae but plant crops. Tillage helps, in most cases, increases yield, and with cover crops and residue incorporation doesn't decrease soil organic matter, but can rather help increase it.
Hi Mr Aden, Sorry if I'm not pronouncing our your name properly . I love to start organic corn farm in Srilanka with machineries. Could you please give me the guidance ?

Did you get a good kill with just a single disk or did make another pass with anything else?
One pass terminated 90% of it. Then I just hit it once with the field cultivator before planting to clean up the little bit that was left.
looking at doing something like this for sweet corn but tillage destroys soil and mycorrhizal fungi so kinda defeats the purpose of the cover crop

What’s the spacing and diameter of your disc blades?
The disk is 9” spacing and blades are 20”-21”.
