    Jim Murphy Racing
Justin, Thank you for doing these videos and helping us at the Boise race. You are the 'Top' of the Bottom End Guys and so much more!
You are exactly right on our use of a dry sump oiling system on our Nostalgia Top Fuel Car. It is our preference. 392 type motors are notorious for poor oiling. Our Rodeck blocks are much improved over all other such blocks on how the oil is delivered to the bearings, but we chose to go a step further with a 6 suction pump, 1 delivery pump system for the following reasons: 1-To deliver clean oil free from aeration from a tank to the bearings. 2-To remove as much oil from inside the crank case as possible, for power saving, 3- To produce a vacuum in the crankcase and 4- For driver safety in the event of a catastrophic engine failure.

Hey Justin, thanks for you excellent, honest and open discussion re T/F and the direction you heading now…A fair bit of what you talk about I understand but the finer points get beyond as I have no automotive background just a love for T/F, F/C….. having attended Pomona in feb 6 years ago and being totally blown away, just by the volume of competitors…….here in Australia if we can get 4T/F and 4 F/C cars to a meet is awesome…… I’ll be at Pomona in November get another fix of what USA does like no where else.
Thanks for your content always informative and entertaining.🙏🏻🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Cheers from Downunder 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

Sorry man, like you was busy so never got to watch this for a few days but great video Justin. Love the car and it is right after my own heart, a NA car. That is so old school and reminds me of being 16 with limited cash but having a car to run, this was the early 80's and power adders were unreliable so NA was how we did it. Today it is so easy to bolt on a turbo and get 1000HP, crazy actually and just as crazy is you getting 900+ out of a small block, impressive.
What RPM are you turning to get that HP? Got to be high for a little engine.
Also how long can a top fuel engine run at idle? We remember that epic burndown Clay had years ago against Doug that lasted two minutes, how long could they actually go? Was there any engine damage from that 2 minute event?

Hi. I know you’re not on the top fuel team anymore but do you mind my asking a question about it. I’m curious, during eliminations, what do the drivers do? They seem to disappear into the trailer. They do appear to pour some fuel and work on the chutes but usually they are in hiding. Is it a lot of chilling out? Catch an nfl game this time of year? Thanks and love your channel!

I’m a machinist local to you, do you work on the Centroid 5 axis @ west side, if so how do you like it, I’d love to see it in action it’s been on my machine bucket list for a while.
