    I got up this morning here in Arizona, USA, got my coffee, looked at the sunrise, which was lighting up the clouds with pink and pale orange, and sat down at my computer to see what was new. A new painting by Dusan! A painting with colorful clouds like I had just witnessed. What a great start to my week. Thanks, Dusan.

    Honestly, your talent is so incredible, I found myself wanting to paint! I love the way you make it so easy looking. And the colors you used to create this masterpiece are colors I wouldn't think would be traditional colors and yet you captured the sunset! I was born and raised in Florida and I know what the beach looks like and you have absolutely captured this, although I think maybe the scene might be the West coast. Awesome Job! • @PaintingsbyDusan

      I paint while it's wet so that the knife can glide across the surface and I can correct areas, take paint off if needed.

  • @RobertHopkinsArt
    @RobertHopkinsArt 5 років тому +1

    Excellent work Dusan! Can you tell us your thoughts on why you flipped the painting upside down and continued to paint? Especially painting clouds? I thought it could have been the downward pull of the paint strokes but you switched to a brush. I do understand it gives you a fresh look at the painting but I have never seen anyone continue to paint upside down. Thanks for sharing your wonderful paintings!

    • @PaintingsbyDusan
      @PaintingsbyDusan  5 років тому +1

      Hi Robert, I don't always flip a painting, usually only when it's quite busy up top. As you mentioned it gives me a fresh look on things and I figure it's already flipped I might as well continue painting - it keeps things interesting for me and allows me to focus on what I'm painting.

    • @PaintingsbyDusan
      @PaintingsbyDusan  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks Brenda you can definitely use a palette knife with your acrylic paint. You may need to gradually build up the layers as texture underneath is hard to work with. Other than that have fun with it, great tool to use 😊

    Hia - I LOVE your work - i wanted to know - can this only really be done with Oil or will acrylic do? Thanks :)

    • @PaintingsbyDusan
      @PaintingsbyDusan  5 років тому

      Thanks Elie, Acrylic would need a bit of a different process than oil paint, you would be using thin layers / scraps of paint and slowly building it up and gradually introducing thicker paint as the image began to take shape and you were confident about placement of objects / landmarks. You can't take the paint off with acrylics fast drying time so go slow and gradually get thicker.

    Can I know y do u use black canvas instead of white

    • @PaintingsbyDusan
      @PaintingsbyDusan  5 років тому

      Hi Kosuru, The base coat is acrylic paint, which is dry. It's
      primary use is to seal the ready made stretched canvases that you can
      commonly buy. They aren't sealed enough and are quite 'thirsty' and
      absorb the oil from the paint to eagerly, which is not good. The base
      coat can be any colour, which does influence the colours you place on
      top.

      Thanks Jackie, ironically it used to be easier. With such a scattered online marketplace it makes it much harder to get your work in front of a person that will enjoy it. It comes down to having a backup for income as you make your work, hopefully with the two either complimenting one another of at least not being so taxing that you don't feel like making art and have some energy left in the tank to forge on. Keep going :)
