Rhonda Vincent & 7 yr old Carson Peters - Amazing Grace

  • Опубліковано 9 сер 2013
  • An upload by Rhonda herself, of a performance that appears to have been recorded in her home church in Greentop MO. The attendance figures of 17 last Sunday and 15 this Sunday remind me of the little country church where I got saved 63 years ago. Brent Burke does a thrilling job of making his resonator guitar cry at about 3 minutes; reminds me of Pete Kirby (Brother Oswald).

    Poor people, they looked and probably felt so hot, with their hand held fans! God bless Rhonda for playing in non-air conditioning!

    are great, nice, fantastic. The guitar solo is highlight (inventiv) and others soloist plays great. Carson Peters is young but "great" (I'm 70 Years Old, professional (bad) musician since 1960 and still -lead guitars /tenor-banjo, trombone and tuba from 1959 to 1975/ and my first instrument was swiss diatonic accordeon at age of 8). God bless you to all. Have a good sunday. My sunday is nice since your upload (it's 11H00 A.M. in France). Jo

    The congregation was obviously very warm. Their use of the famous "church and funeral fan" reminds me of the church where my Grandpa preached, years ago.

    What a fine video! First class all the way around and that young boy will be a good one. The folks on the instruments were great too including the older fella on the Epiphone guitar, the Dobro and bass players too!

      What in the world is a dobro? Here, where they live and play we call those instruments guitar, banjo, fiddle, mandolin.

      @@peachesbeaches781 The Dobro is more properly called a "resonator guitar," as "Dobro" is a brand name. It's like "Kleenex" or "band-aid", in that many call them all "dobros." In this case, it's the instrument played by the gentleman between the banjo player and Rhonda Vincent.
      He's playing in the style typical of gentlemen like Brother Oswald and Josh Graves, which one rarely hears anymore. He plays very well.

    This video is one of the most emotional and fresh "show" (it's not a "show" but my english is so bad and poor so I find not the right words in this situation).Thank you so much for this upload. I play "Amazing Grâce" with my own Guitar Band" (from 15 to 22 musicians, all 12 string guitars, bass, 2 o 3 banjos) in memory of all our friends/members of the Band was passing the way first in 3/4 (slow) and after in 4/4 medium tempo (Johnny Cash style). The lady there singing it's a pity she has no Vibrato in her voice it would make such a difference......

    • @SidsCardShop
      @SidsCardShop  6 років тому +6

      O: Obviously you are not familiar with the Bluegrass music genre, or you would know that "the lady" was proclaimed The Queen of Bluegrass by The Wall Street Journal in the year 2000, has been awarded the Female Vocalist of the Year title 8 times by the INTERNATIONAL Bluegrass Music Association (she and her hand-picked band have won more than 100 awards), and has released 21 CDs and 2 DVDs. The hallmark of Bluegrass vocalization is to sing with a voice that is pitch-perfect, and the ability to sustain a note for a long time without going flat or sharp. A singer without that ability can mask it using vibrato, so, with all due respect to your opinion, it is NOT "a pity" that Rhonda has a rare, pure voice that requires no crutch. Thanks for your comment.

      I see what you mean, but I still think her voice may be pure and on pitch but without Vibrato it just does nothing for me......sorry

      O: That's okay. You've always got opera. Here's my video of Andrea Bocelli singing with Sarah Brightman, whose husband wrote the part of Christine in Phantom of the Opera for her. ua-cam.com/video/Q638RsBSGeA/v-deo.html
      I suspect you are looking for Christian music, in which case you should get goosebumps listening to these videos I have uploaded:
