For those who want a horrific fun fact about using the firebomb instead of the gun. Not only does the mercs bulletproof armor not protect them from fire, it actually makes their deaths even more excruciating due to the heat build-up. Korty is literally cooking alive in addition to being on fire.
-And yet, running on adrenaline and vengeful directed rage, manages to lodge a bullet in your lower body. Just to spite you as he becomes a charred corpse.
I must replay the game and earn this happy ending. Poor Titus and his posse didn't survive my first attempt at the tribunal. I went to it without the gun, imagine that! Does having the gun help during the tribunal?

The tribunal is one of the most intense and memorable moments in video game history, as far as I’m concerned. Standing in the middle of two armed groups with no weapon of my own... I was shitting bricks the whole time.
Then once you make the shot, the shift to the visual calculus theme is so nerve-wracking. I had a 50/50 chance on dodging the bullet, and that theme combined with the quick analysis by my skills ("0.6 seconds left until total annihilation") was amazing. I never actually felt such tension before in a video game fight.
True, And all are done through texts too. I can't think of any triple AAA games in these recent years manage to pull such an intent panicking kind of feeling like Disco Elysium does to me.

Hands down, Tribunal was the most intense moment I've ever had in a game. They did an incredible job with this song, it truly added to how tense and desperate this moment was.
No words would be enough to explain how I feel about this moment in the game, I liked the Hardie Boys, I was so worried about Kim, I had no idea what to do. I felt a huge despair when everything was out of my control, this game is wonderful, it was the most immersive moment I've ever had in a game

BIG OL' SPOILERS HERE I just finished the game today, not only do i just love this theme and had to give it another lesson, god this sequence was amazing, that shiver I got when walking up to the whirling and harry saying "im not ready for this" and me having no idea what hes referring to, then the whole situation, i was holding my breath almost the whole time and clutching my fists hoping to GOD that my skill checks would pass. I did not get the best outcome to what I have found online since (dont worry I was able to save kim), but every step of the way I was tense, I loved every second of this game, the way it can jump to goofy antics with your straight man partner to back to back officers against immesurable odds, man it felt awesome... and pretty sad, guess that sums up a lot of the game now i think about it doesnt it
I understood like, only %40 of this game with all those extra non-english words used, political, scientific and other such terms (not a native speaker). But holy hell did this game left a *deep* mark on me.
Definitely not an easy read, considering sometimes you won't get an explanation of for hours, and there are also strange things like "tare" that may or may not be a mistranslation.

It's interesting how Kortenaer made his brother sort of... dignified again. When you first see the body, it's just a stripped blob of muscles. The only remarkable things about it pertain to the case. It's very... dehumanized. But once Kortenaer talked about him, I felt like he talked about an actual person that lived and deserved to be remembered. It's not just some corpse you investigate at the beginning of the game. Although it probably wasn't intentional, it's of note that games, films, and books rarely go for this kind of thing.

They may be nothing but corrupted soul trapped in flesh, but by god they are human from when they are born until they die. It’s comforting to see absolute corrupted agents of evil as nothing but a nonhuman soulless automaton that exists only to defeat. It’s absolutely heartbreaking and shaking when you accept evil has a soul and thought and feelings, exactly as much as you do. The colonel was evil. The colonel was the weapon of capital. But he was a man with a brother, a mother, a childhood, a desire for closeness and being seen. And that hurts.

Their most heavily armed member, fully clad in near-indestructible armour and wielding a rifle meant for destroying vehicles, turns out to be a frothing lunatic who barely forms coherent sentences outside of gurgling to himself inside his helmet... Does nobody else recognize this? It's almost exactly "Armed With Death" from Telltale's Season 1 of TWD. I went into sony vegas and mashed them up, very crudely, but the horns, the chord change riffs, and the strings almost all go together. I frankly want to hear someone properly mash the two together as a cover/remix.
I know this is incredibly strange and/or really stupid, but this was the first moment in a video game where I was pumped for a combat scenario instead of dreading it.

I went into sony vegas and mashed them up, very crudely, but the horns, the chord change riffs, and the strings almost all go together.
