I have this exact antenna but under a different name, Harvest HFC-6S. If i can get the length correct on the coils, it will work well. I believe the recorded measurements in the instructions are wrong. I am looking forward to part 2.
Have been trying to do part 2 but by the looks of things 2 elements are not working, 7mhz element i get no reading as well as the 21mhz element. Looks like ill have to stop for a bit to do an RMA return
Thank you for your comment, if you don't like it....hey its not for you, i mean i feel bad. Taken time out of your day to watch it and you felt like you had to say its boring. You could always not watch it, if its not for you it's not for you
Actually, it's Scan King. I keep thinking the word skank and I don't like it. It's a dipole because each loading coil is one end of the dipole and I assume the three radials are the other side of the dipole. I don't get how they call it a discone. It looks like one, but I have a hard time believing these things are omnidirectional on each band. It reminds me of the 6m side of the Diamond V-2000 where the 6m stub makes it directional and there are mods which remove the 6m stub and making it more omnidirectional. For a discone, the length of the cone should be 1/4 wavelength of the lowest frequency which is 80 meters. Do the math, that cone is not 20 tall. It doesn't meet any of the classic requirements of a discone. And if it were, this antenna would be copied all over the place, and it's not. This video shows a real HF discone. ua-cam.com/video/N5U2_D_G5zE/v-deo.html
