How has the Ranger done towing? We have one and are looking at 400’s.

Looking at a lightly used 400 to live full time in …may be more stationary than road tripping ….how’s the Alde heat system held up for you?

The Alde overall hasn't failed me yet as far as the heater goes. It's done a great job even in freezing temps. My Alde flow tank (the tankless water heater) has developed a crack in it so I've just rerouted while I debate whether or not to replace it. The Alde can heat water without it, I just assume it's a more limited supply.

How has your white trim held up? Looking at buying a 2024 that has white trim and exterior sections which I wouldn't have thought I'd like, but I do. Just worried about how it looks over time. Thanks!

It's looking great so far! I have a few small scrapes on it but overall the white is nice because it doesn't fade. I've heard that the red trim fades over time in the sun.

Have you ever dry camped or boondocked in your tab?

I don't typically boondock. I have camped in places without water but never without electric - I don't currently have a setup to support it.

May I ask what is the coldest temperature you have slept in the tab 400?

Maybe 20F overnight? I honestly don't remember but somewhere in that range. Probably not recommended though (although this was Arizona so it did warm up during the day). I also got caught in a snow storm my first winter, also not advisable but I managed to escape without any longterm damage to my lines.

If you're interested in winter camping, you can always camp with it winterized/the lines blown out.

Oh yes, for sure I would have it winterized. I was just wondering how insulated it is for the winter and if the furnace would keep up with really low temperatures because I love the Tab 400.

@@ameliaaway I guess what I’m asking is does the furnace work well in cold temperatures

It does pretty well! It holds temperature and I haven't been disappointed by it yet. It does have a little bit of hard time keeping up if the temperature suddenly drops (like the sun going down) or heating up quickly but once it reaches temperature, it holds well. I almost exclusively use it on electric but I've also heard it heats up quicker if you switch to propane.
