The meaning is very simple. Very soon, people will be getting poorer and needs to squeeze in smaller flats. All the CPF and whatever thing you do is useless. The rich just keep carving money out from every level and get richer.

HDB flats used to be bigger. The same 4 room flat now and back then is vastly different in size. With this trend, we will eventually be crammed into smaller flats and this 2 room is just the beginning. Having said that, I am thankful for our government to explore possibilities for all income groups. However at the end of the day, I don't think capitalism is the solution we all had been hoping for. So that these 2 old folks have enough space to enjoy their retirement in the tiny house and their grandkids do not need to squeeze in there too. The fact is, 47sqm flat has its limitation for human traffic but because of their situation, it is understandable and hopefully a short term solution. I believed most of their CPF is locked after selling their old house, and they are about to live on piecemeal CPF handout once they reached 65 and above.

Am reading comment to look for any negative comment. The only negativity i found is me .
I remember as a kid living in this type of house in blk 9 north bridge rd . Life was much simpler back then. As much as I dislike the gov, this is one thing I respect. Provide good shelter and utilities for the people.
