Ran across your video and as a seasoned Kokanee family this was very informative! Funny part about the wife.. back when I had a 12'6" aluminum Valco my wife landed a 15lb landlocked chinook on 6lb test with kokanee gear top water this time on the year with fog over the water. Her reel was fresh out of the box and i'm so happy the drag was set perfect. She said, "I think im hooked onto a log". Her uncle said, "Logs don't peel line off like that!". Took awhile to reel in and net but ever since then she said.. whatever you need, get it! Needless to say, theres a hewescraft in my driveway now. Tight lines!
hahahahaha, Thats absolutely amazing brother! She was Hooked from that day on. You couldnt ask for anything more. Thanks so much man I really appreciate you taking the time to comment!
To be honest I wanted to judge your video and you have great presentation and editing skills. I can tell you’re passionate about the fishery and applaud you for doing all that it takes to share online. Unfortunately I don’t do Facebook so I’m bummed about the social networking group. Haha. Anyway, going to hit Lake Cushman in the morning which is our stomping grounds. Have a great weekend!
Thanks man thats i appreciate it. Its all good man no worries on the group is that a pretty good kokanee lake?@@BennettBuilt-yu2gw
@@walkingonwaterfishing With experience and some luck you can fill up the smoker. The kokanee range from 6-12inches with the odd 25% chance of thinking you got a big one and it's a chinook that you need to release. Despite this, it's our families go-to fishing/hiking/adventuring spot. With a chance hooking a native rainbow or cutthroat.
My guy always informational!
Good Info - Thanks
Great job
are the rods bent over like that cause of the weight?
Yes! they are hooked to the downrigger balls that are 8 pounds i use them so i can stay at a specific depth. there is a small clip behind the ball that holds the line. when a fish bites it pops the line out of the clip than im fighting just the fish!
Are you fishing Hayden or Pend Orielle this time of year?
Hayden is the most productive Kokanee lake around with the best size Kokanee in my opinion
I’ve never seen that style clip. Do you have a link?
Yes!
