I've always loved this shortline, with it's well aged equipment, and forgotten paint schemes. If you stop by again, make sure to catch the mcallen district! Or maybe you could even catch Border pacific! (If it's active) Just tossing ideas.
They never run on sat, sun. Every other day is fine.If you see a consist of mostly hoppers and boxcars, it's probably due for Edinburgh. A bunch of signals have been malfunctioning recently, so the chaos that a small train can create is astounding. The mission spur... From what I can see on maps, they keep a maintenance train there! @@TheCentralTexasRailfan Summary: Edinburgh running is rare, usually near at the start/end of a week. Check for boxcar/hopper line up, or a single locomotive. Power moves are possible there. Great video and crossing! Love all the older equipment along that line, especially the classic FS/WCH extendable cantilevers!
i saw 1705 on one of my videos at la feria and nice catch;)
I believe the bell issue at Tower Road, Alamo is because the bell is hooked up to the lights' flasher relay.
Awesome crossings
Great videos and crossings!
I miss 5579 in the NS livery.
What is it now?
@@TheCentralTexasRailfan it's an RVSC livery. That dark green color.
10:42 - The crossbuck is missing. 😯 Some of these crossings are dangerous. The traffic signal timings are awful.
Pretty nice railroad crossings! But, man, I can't stand those sloppy looking cable-strung traffic lights that most of Texas has.
The main reason they use spanwire signals is they are cheaper and can be lifted out of the way of high load vehicles.
I love this horn I hear it all the time
It's pretty nice although it did get a little tiring hearing it 15 times in a row.

Definitely want to film it more if I go back to the area. Do you know when they run on the Edinburg branch?

Great video!
Strange place for a bell
Can I see more videos please like more time please and part 2 like all of them please
Do edinburg railroad crossings if this reaches 1k
👇
Would love to, but it's very difficult for me to travel that far anymore. Plus, I believe they only run to Edinburg at night.
Just put gas in your car, it's not that hard.
I live in Austin, 5+ hours away. I don't have infinite time or money to drive such distances.
@@TheCentralTexasRailfanWhere's part 2?
@@TheCentralTexasRailfan waiting for an answer.........
