- 52 mountains in 52 weeks, and something in between
This is one of the biggest challenges that I set for myself: climbing the highest peak of every European country. No matter how big or small, I will conquer all of Europe's highest mountains and hills.
Hiking across Europe will be just one part of this project. I believe this small continent should be well connected and I want to prove that by traveling around Europe using only public transportation. But that's not the only reason. I also want to show it is possible to travel in a sustainable way.
Backpacking Europe , traveling only by public transportation will allow me to discover the diversity of Europe, interact with locals and understand what makes each country unique and what they all have in common.

Your video was an absolute delight to watch, thank you for sharing your talent with us.
Thank you 😊
That's a heck of a challenge buddy! Will Mont Blanc count as just one country's peak or multiple? Has anyone ever done this before? Looking forward to the series!
Hey, It would count as 2 summits, because of logistics I need to see if I can combine them in one or really make 2 ascents. There are few people who did the highest peaks in every country in Europe but solely with public transport and really making the full summits (meaning starting from the bottom of the mountain and not taking a car or train or cable car up) I did not find any.
Really curious though how it will work out and if it will work out - can't wait to share 😊
Greetings from The Czech Republic. :)
Thanks 🙏 - Czech was really amazing was the perfect country to start the project
A mountain a week, quite ambitious!
Yep, it is. I rely on being able to make 3 peaks in one weekend, like the Benelux to save my ass 😅
@@UntraveledRoadsOfficial The Benelux is easy, you can do 3 in one day, it's just over one kennedy march of walking and zero technical difficulty but Sweden and Finland compensate for that😅. Don't know the technical difficulty levels of all the peaks, but the logistics alone looks like a challenge to me. There are some fair distance to cover and you've to consider seasonality too. I imagine that at the end of the project you're tired of public transport and want to fly🤣
haha, I need to admit I hate flying but being able to travel with less hassle very long distances may compensate for it. 😅. I am curious myself how I will feel after all of this. I have thought about mountains like the ones in the Nordics (mostly worried though about Swiss). Sometimes I think I will be able to make it in one year with all the constraints that I have, sometimes I doubt it myself, but it is gonna be a fun way of finding out if it is possible or not 😊.
@@UntraveledRoadsOfficial I've not researched it, but I'm pretty sure it can be done provided you've the required climbing skills, though the highest peaks, Elbrus and Mt Blanc are fairly easy that every fit person can climb, I think Shkhara is a really serious climb. For the rest I think it mainly boils down to proper planning and a lot of moving around. And there is of course a bit of luck involved as for the higher and more demanding peaks you may have to wait for a good weather window and a long severe winter may complicate things too.
