- A 4K Toronto electric scooter ride using my TekTrendy ES Commute electric kick scooter from midtown to downtown. I head to where I used to work at First Canadian Place. Recorded in the morning of Thursday, June 17, 2021.

Nice to see a rider drive properly! Not breaking any laws wearing a helmet and being curious. If everyone drove their scooters like you do there wouldn't be any of the issues people complain about and their acceptance would be far easier to achieve! Well done !

Technically they're still banned at the moment but the police don't enforce it and the city has yet to give any actual (intelligent) reasons for this. Hopefully once those cranky dinosaurs who are opposed to them are gone we can get on with the inevitable...

I have been thinking about scooting to work in Toronto too. Your video actually makes me second guess... the amount of construction and traffic, and the lack of bike lanes makes it an intimidating thought.

It's surprisingly smooth over the bumps, the rear suspension really helps! For comparison the popular Segway Ninebot Max doesn't have a suspension and would have been noticeably rougher.

Equipment upgraded
I'd be scared to ride an e-scooter here in NYC because of all of the potholes and lack of stability. I think the key is going slow, like 15 mph max. If you hit a pothole with those tiny wheels at 20mph+ you're basically dead.

They're also banned in public in Toronto by our utterly incompetent city council (but nowhere else in the province) but fortunately the police have better things to do.
@@JohnnyStrides Yes your right you can hire a eScooter in London (since the 7th June 2021) but only in certain boroughs as part of a Government back scheme (Bojo want his share of the profits). You have to download a App first and do a online course before your allowed to hire them, over 18's only and hold a driving or motorbike license aswell. Privately owned ones will still be illegal to use on roads though (police are heavily fining people). Apparently burglars / thieves have been using them as get away vehicles alot.
I have Ninebot Max.. 65K of range and weight 19 kilos. easy to carry in one hand

Dear Mr. Johnny Strides.. FEEDBACK... This will be brief.... Johnny is Toronto's Vlogger.... The stream seemed very smooth with the exception of a pothole, but it is smooth from my viewing POV.... I should think the live streams will be EXCELLENT compared to the fumbling about which I sincerely overlook because Rome was not built in a day.... How long is the life expectancy of your RECHARGEABLE BATTERY because like a CELLPHONE sooner or later you will need to replace the battery and what is the cost?.... Always in Good Taste.... Good point about the battery. All products these days seem destined for some kind of planned obsolescence. Perhaps the battery is replaceable or will last longer than the life of the scooter?

Yes, but the city of Toronto has failed to put forth a single compelling (or intelligent) argument or reason as to why this is. Fortunately the police don't enforce this absurd, ass-backwards ban (allowing ebikes but not escooters?). I have no problems supporting those who ride escooters and will do so myself... it's time to start doing what the rest of the country is doing and embrace the future.
