      +The Keyboardist I agree! If Tedesco can play that with this basically toy keyboard, why can’t Yanni make something interesting with a full orchestra and like 100 Krome workstations? I’ll never understand.

    All this hate and comments coming from stage players. When are people gonna read properly. The KROSS is a powerful WORKSTATION!!!!!! can you read that? WORKSTATION!!!!!! This is mostly used to produce not to take it to a concert. The advantage is that it can ALSO be used in a band. But that is the extra, not the main.

      @@calebrabion I strongly disagree about build quality there. They both have tough bodies but the Juno keybed is far better, Kross keybed is some cheap junk Korg has been putting in lower-end products for many years.

    Hi there,
    Nice presentation. I have a few questions:
    1. Those trigger pads...can they be used in the same way like the pads i a launchpad?
    2. Are the keys on this version (61 keys) just ordinary keys (no semi-weighted or the like)?
    3. What is the difference in price between this and the 88 key version?
    4. How does it connect to speakers for live performance?

    Oh dear.... just got it few days ago...I wanted to replace my Triton LE and Triton Studio, With fast SD Card Sampler and quick Workflow... what was I thinking... It is a toy... I thought may be I can avoid a Kronos, when it comes to Audio files player, loading wav samples as „one shots“, get some Pad Sounds I created on an old FantomX into the Board... 1. to play the samples you have saved onto the Pads, you have to stay on the Pad! Or press the hold Button simultanesly ... how to do that live, on the Spot, gor just a one shot sample... 2. Try to Loop always gives you „clicking noises“ when looping...doesnt matter if you change the Loop Start/End Point. 3. Most samples are Not Even recognized...wav/44-48khz/16bit... dont know why...(all were made same time, same Software...) 4. trying to get my old Pads Sampled and played...oh f... it is a pain I.t.a. !! And no hold, no sustain; it just played the 5 sec I sampled...on Kurzweil and Nord it went without a problem... And sounded exactly like it should, but here it’s just crap, may be good for a short bell like sample, but not more. 5 except the e-pianos and some other Sounds it just sounds thin, Almost no Stereo Image, no power in the pad Sounds and lead synths...thin and weak... The Tritons and LE is almost a Granny in Comparison...But you feel and hear the power of it immediately! Really disappointed of KROSS 2, sorry.

    This was good but I wish Frank had pointed out the actual updates while specifically mentioning what was improved or different from Kross 1. Not all of us are familiar with the original's features to immediately know what was improved.

    • @jantristian
      @jantristian 7 років тому +1

      Its easy..just look into Kross 1 specs & you'll know Kross 2 is much improved with sampling pads and audio Sd card playback. + Usb midi/Audio Interface.

    • @Jason75913
      @Jason75913 5 років тому

      @@jantristian I wonder why Korg didn't program USB audio capability into the original? It's the very same processor with the same capabilities. I took a peak inside and do not see any kind of USB-specific hardware in the circuitry, USB input routes to the processor. A hacker interested enough might be able to get USB Audio working on Kross1 with the help of a Kross2's firmware.
      The processor is specified for designing smartphones, did you know? Funky tidbit. Perhaps in the Kross2's successor they will have come up with programming to exploit the video circuitry of the processor to improve the successor's capabilities? (And improve the sound further, too.)
      It would rock if they could eliminate the Kross' noise floor within its own sound engine. If you record a Juno-DS through the Juno's built-in USB audio interface, the resulting recording is free of any noise floor, which is pretty damn badass. No one mentions this, I strongly doubt it is common in music production synthesizers.

    Really? After 4 years of complaints and suggestions from the Kross community (poor keybed, poor usabilty, poor manual), Korg gives us the option to TURN ON AND OFF THE LOGO. Am I the only one who thinks that is the stupidest thing ever? Instead of taking care of the major issues people have with the Kross 1 - they give us the option to turn the logo on and off. Good video, though, I'm not giving a thumbs-down.

    • @miguelrejas5034
      @miguelrejas5034 7 років тому +3

      Synthesaurus Rex Yeah, the logo thing is very useless (4not saying another thing). But, I really did not feel "touched" w/ the prior release, they re design the whole keyboard and now it looks pretty more "serious" to me, some shortcuts for live! And this time.. does not seen like toy. Do not mess with comparing to Motif or Fantom.. this compete with Roland xps30 and some Juno-D. But, I don't know if is as much versatile as the mm6 was... need to dig more on it. In resume, I like this version more.

    • @jantristian
      @jantristian 7 років тому +3

      Thats why Korg has the Krome which sounds much better. By now, folks into synth will KNOW the Kross /2 is a low budget starter for kids or anyone will low funds to spare.
      If you need better synth, spend more at Krome or Kronos…. For its features with sampling at this price, its a good deal for anyone to play with it.
      Lets look at this Synth within Korg's synth range.

    • @stemart1641
      @stemart1641 7 років тому +1

      That was the poorest product demo I think I've ever seen. The presenter could have played some horn sounds, string sounds, perhaps a solo synth preset. The reason he didn't is probably because they all sound like the disgusting acoustic piano samples they gave us on the SV1. One K, yep.....I'm afraid you get what you pay for.

    • @HighlandStudio91
      @HighlandStudio91 7 років тому +9

      +Synthesaurus So then...the 120 note polyphony,the extra 24 MB of user ROM,the additional 128MB of user memory,the sampling,the 16 drum pads,the full size keys,the real time control knobs,the audio/midi interface and the superb looking new design with the rubberized surface....means n-o-t-h-i-n-g to you??All of these new and extremely useful features and all you can do is piss and moan about the f**king illuminated logo?Really?Sounds to me like someone threw a tantrum,because due to the Kross 2,someone is stuck with their obsolete-piece-of-shit Kross and desperately wants a Kross 2. Maybe you should smash your Kross with a hammer and buy yourself a Kross 2....might make you feel better.

      I hear you dude....but consider this(in addition to the 128MB of PCM data)...there is another 128MB of expansion memory(so you can add just as many NEW sounds.)I hated the original Kross(with a passion)...but the Kross 2 is much better....more polyphony,more memory,sampling,audio/midi interface,real time control knobs,16 drum pads,full size keys and it's a great looking keyboard with a rubberized coating....come on dude,at $749,you don't have any valid complaints.If you can't stomach the Triton sounds,then wait for the successor to Krome,to be released.Then again though,the Krome was a defective piece of shit(I returned 2 of them,due to OS crashes.)Personally,I am done with Korg's cheap OS systems....so for me,the Kross will be a great addition to my PC studio(as it is reliable and versatile.)

    The time of "workstations" is over. Buy a Macmini, monitor, software and keybed for that money. These keyboards from Korg, Roland, Yamaha etc. are all low production quality and full of obsolete technology. Or buy a used Roland Fantom X7 for the same price. 61 keys are not enough anyway.

      +pcuimac "The time of workstations is over" and yet,Korg,Roland,Yamaha,Kurzweil and Casio,are still producing them. "Buy a Macmini,monitor,software and key-bed"...really??The Kross is $749.The Macmini is $500,a monitor(20") is around $100,a 61 key-bed of decent quality,is at least $200 and if you go cheap,Mixcraft 8 is $89.Let's do the math...a total of $889(which is over $100 more than the cost of the Kross 2)So according to you,all the current big brands are low quality and obsolete and yet,you suggest a decade old Roland(which by the way,had only 128MB of PCM data(same as the Kross 2) and by the way,a used X7 is $1400....wtf dude...are you retarded??Also....the Mac Mini is only 1.4Ghz,4GB of RAM,with a 500GB HD...so how long do you think it will be,before it's maxed out and becomes obsolete??You could not even run Propellerhead Reason 9.5,on that piece of shit.To put a finer point on the hardware workstation thing,current workstations(in addition to playing live)...are designed to work in conjunction with computer DAW's,due to their seamless integration with computers,so STFU...with all of your mindless & pathetic conjecture and rhetoric,you myopic moron.

      Spoken like a bedroom hobbyist, vst fanboy. But hate to break it to you, workstations like Kronos, Montage, MOXF, FA08, and more entry level models like Kross sell like hot cakes because of musicians who perform live for actual people. Rock, jazz, edm, worship, soul, country, you name it, these keyboards are great, they can be used in place of heavy stage pianos. And no, you can't buy all that stuff for $749 and if you did, who in their right mind would want to bring it to each gig. smh, clueless people.
