Okay, but I'm so used to seeing the first girl as the toxic theater kid, so seeing her play the exact opposite was insane. We need to see more non-toxic theater kid representation!
Ikr! I’m pretty chill with theater. Like, I’ll try for the lead, supporting, etc, but if I see a kid even if she’s younger than me and new to theater, if she fits Liesl Von Trapp more (my dream role), than I’d be like “Break a leg girl, I’ll go for Marta if I need to”

The non toxic theatre kid was the most wholesome thing I've ever seen
my mom was like "you haven't been getting any lead parts lately, and i've seen the kids that play the leads. They are always the one dressing up for auditions in costume, like the girl who was summer in school of rock dressed in a uniform. maybe you should do that" and i had to explain to her all the reasons why that was wrong because i knew she was thinking about forcing me to come in costume. but i won that argument. :)

@@cucckles exactly! It’s totally normal to get exhausted my something getting extremely popular, especially if you liked it at that time. Like, I knew the show Wednesday was good, but I seriously didn’t wanna watch it until the hype died down 😭
I don't like it because it's just not the style of musical I can get into but I never understood hating a popular thing purely because it's popular. It's very easy to just let other people enjoy what they like while enjoying what you like instead of letting not liking something be your core personality.
For real! There's valid reasons not to like it anyway so saying it's "too popular" is just kind of lazy?

I got to see the UK version of Newsies and Brooklyn was all girls and it was very cool, especially since the girl playing Spot was shorter than Jack Catherine and Davey but had such a big personality
at the last play I was in, about five months ago, one of the actors had to do four quick changes, each being ten seconds, all right after each other, I'm so happy I wasn't her, it seemed so stressful.
10:04 I was in a production of Newsies a couple years ago, and Spot and the Brooklyn newsies were all little kids and mostly girls. They were all amazing, but the kid playing Spot was spot-on!! She also was Gingy in Shrek a year later and slayed that role as well!

I did legally blonde too and at one show, when chutney admitted to killing her dad they accidentally played Kyle's entry music it was hilarious.

Honestly, id love to do the Spongebob musical at my high school, but that would involve us having to do some kind of matinee for tons of elementary schoolers and it would just be tedious lol 😅 i thought we were gonna do it this year but we are doing Les Mis, which should be super cool ✨
I’ve done SpongeBob before! We did the jr version, so it may be different for you but it’s super fun! The costumes are all so fun and it’s so entertaining.
we did a matinee for spongebob and it was so much fun!! i was one of the sardines and we did a little meet and greet, i taught some of the kids how to make a star with their hands :,)

I just auditioned for the fall play of Little Women...I look a lot more mature than most of my friends so I'm scared I'm gonna get Marmie or Aunt March.
But I reallyyyyy really want to play one of the Little Women, preferably Jo. I think the audition went well. I'll edit this comment when the cast list comes out....in about a WEEK.

update: so the cast list took like 3 weeks to come out and bad news, i was right and I got marmee. and my BEST FRIEND IS JO. hopefully this means i get a good role in the spring show :(

Hi, I know I’m really late to this comment but I hope you had amazing time doing the show! I’m so sorry it didn’t go how you wanted. I’ve had my friend getting a role I want happen multiple times and it really does suck. But Marmee is such an amazing character! Not to mention she has one of the most beautiful songs in the entire show! I hope you didn’t let this bring you down and I hope you had an amazing time!
@@SophieWarren-x8q Thank you so much! Unfortuantely we did the play so I did not get to sing. But in the musical right now I'm the only sophmore who ended up getting a part, with my friend in the ensemble. So I guess this is just the way things work out :)

These videos are literally perfect. It shows how many people have amazing talent and the different directions drama teachers can go. And don’t be mad at what parts you get because casting is so hard. My drama teacher makes us cast 1-2 shows depending on how many classes you’re in. It’s so hard because of the amount of talent there is.

i was in a cast of matilda as lavender. everyone was so nice and funny and just so energetic and it felt like a family 😭 closing night was SO SAD and i just remember all of us screaming revolting children doing the most intense dance moves ever and we were all panting and sweating when we ran back stage it was SO FUN bcus everybody gave it their all and you could tell how much fun we had 😭😭😭

there’s this girl who’s a toxic theater kid but hides it. she obviously takes a bunch of voice lessons and id say she’s good. she’s the favorite of the theater (very obviously) and that means she gets special treatment often. we are currently on the 1st week of cinderella, and by then literally nobody knows their lines yet (as we just got cast list) and me and my fellow stepsister and mother have all our lines memorized. we were doing blocking for the ball scene, and this girl gets applauded and laughs and giggles for doing a literal 4 COUNT DANCE. A WALTZ. 4 COUNTS. WITH THE PRINCE. so when we do our lines, im scolded for saying ‘ get what a mean’ instead of ‘ know what i mean’ . LIKE. GIRLY. and she’s obviously sour and mad she didn’t get the lead role, WHICH SHE ALWAYS DOES. and she’s such a preppy vsco girl and popular.

thats wird that they would be so mad at you for a little line change... usually judges and directors like when kids change up a couple lines a little because it means they're getting into it and really feeling the character

@@helix9049as a theatre kid I tend to do the same thing for a character. not a great example but I was playing Lucy for my schools production of you’re a good man Charlie Brown (we all hated the decision but still had fun) and one of my lines was “whatever linus, bla bla bla” but on our dress rehearsal my mind immediately went “shut up Linus!” we all laughed as it was a random decision but im still scared nonetheless
