as current happy user of the intel NUC, instead of a internal 2.5hdd an e-SATA port and analog front audio will be better for me. and YES I was "WTF where is the power cable" I play Borderlands2 on low/medium settings 1080p
does it come with the sata cable, power for the ssd and sister card as well as the power cord? Is a heat sink and fan involved? If so does that come with it? I seen several videos and they're all slightly different... I have the 512GB SSD and the wifi so what else do I need to buy?
The video is pretty cool but may I suggest the use of a tripod or something to stabilize the camera while filming. Some parts of the video are really out of focus and way more "unstable" that they should be.
played League of legends on high settings with a HD 4000 @60fps it just drops sometimes to like 40fps when there's too much stuff going on , also tried it with world of warcraft it sets around 30-35 fps doesn't really drop unless you push the options too far ( i had it on medium ) and i guess it would run CS:GO with no problem at all , don't know if it can handle dota 2 but it should. So yeah if you want to watch your movies on that 42" screen in the living room or go to a friend's house to play some online stuff without having to move a full tower case you should get this or it could be usefull to work on for things that don't require much graphics power. and there are some good tactile portable screens out there that you could buy so you don't have to find a screen or bring a keyboard or mouse and just use the touchscreen to do your stuff (like a superpowered tablet) when you move out.and it will still be less heavy than a laptop.anyway depending on the type of user you are this is really some good stuff from intel.
What kind of preformance is one looking at here? As in day to day use and gaming (i dont expect great things) i just want to know how much could it clock
If AMD released something like this they would be a great seller... Considering what they said how people want a lower price if AMD made these they would be really cheap and a huge seller in my mind.
A small form factor pc like that would be good for home theater set up . but keep it off my desk i like my big gaming machine that i built on my desk showing its self off
i think this is more for video editing /pc work /storge space than for gaming its small and practical with nice storge but it cant perform good enuch to run end-games on it (any way if u travel alot and in need storge/pc work/videoediting i think this is machine for u) :)
unless i was deploying a large dumb terminal system i would never go with celeron, and given the choice i would likely go with atom procs in that situation (if i didn't need power so much that i could consider a celeron, atom will do just as well and use less power). but the i3 and i5 solutions could be useful for any number of situations where a device needs to be independent of the cloud.
Shredderman you are aware that dumb terminals still exist right? they are frequently just called terminals, but terminals can contain permanent storage devices, dumb terminals specifically refer to devices that have no permanent storage beyond a bios that lets them log into a terminal server to boot a cloud based os, yeah, the cloud isn't new and hasn't been new for decades.
Imagine if AMD made this with there new APU it would be like a mini fucking computer that could play modern games at a reasonable frame rate. It would need a cooler for it though so it would be bigger. MAYBE WATER COOLED? :D
this one is actually a very good little PC, too bad that current software is a fucking bloatware. Windows Server 2008 line of OS's is a huge slow trash, and so as its desktop derivatives: vista, win7, win8 are all apply to this. So your only choice is to put some linux distro with a shitty window manager like gnome2 or xfce. But the problem with this is that linux is a fucking zoo of toolkits and you will be living in a gtk2, gtk3, qt3, qt4, environment, and you will be configuring a separate GUI theme for all of them. Too bad Win2000 is not supported anymore, because it would be the perfect choice for such PC.
What The Fuc Buy a Nuc,, LOL
Elric?
aramis lockwood I think it was his dog because he forgot to log out
Ulim151 that is why i like cats
Anas T mine always changes my facebook status when i forget to log out
WasAuch Immer aramis lockwood Ulim151 Anas T why the fuck is this a conversation?
finally a power cord.
you're hired... love that part.
Nice too see this new stuff with NUC!
Stupid question but what are these used for?
League of legends starcraft... runescape weak games
Ahhhh i see, cheers mate
***** lol
a hd 5000 could play battlefield 4
because of no dedicated GPU I think it would make a nice small good server hosting machine if you got the i5 and chucked 16gb of RAM into it.
I am liking seeing these small form factor stuff. I am thinking about getting that Celeron for my son now.
Thanks for the vid Elric. LOVE the nuc idea honestly.
THANK YOU THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I BEEN LOOKING FOR
Great episode Elrick
i got old version of it and i can play some games, like League of legends, smite and etc. :)
I love this idea! I would like to see them perform as a Steam machines in future. Could be interesting.
Still FPS per watt is better with APU's :)
Yah, intel is way better because you'll be paying a few cents less a year.
if you are No lifer maybe... :D
Ya, but the apu's cpu is a bottlenecking bitch.
***** no its less than that haha.
nope it owns + Mantle
I've got a haswell nuc strapped under my desk and it works well for UA-cam and stuff
What I want to know is why I should have one of these? Does it benefit me in anyway and how could it make my life easier.
as current happy user of the intel NUC, instead of a internal 2.5hdd an e-SATA port and analog front audio will be better for me. and YES I was "WTF where is the power cable" I play Borderlands2 on low/medium settings 1080p
ey que pedo, supongo que se le puede cambiar el SSD por un shitdisc de 5400rpm para convertirlo en una máquina de backups para BitTorrentSync
¿O vienen sin disco?
¡fox ya leí, viene sin nada!

Incredible stuff.
so did you have a chance to get some ram in there and check this out?
That Bob Hurley reference though haha
mmm question.... where do you put the watercooling? .... lol
Is the 2.5" compatible version VESA mountable?
btw,i can't find the song's name in the end of video.. please tell me anyone
they had see the Mr.carey Holzman video about that missing power cord....
Will this run openelec? Powerful enough for xbmc?
Does the Celeron version have USB3? If no USB3 then I prefer the Zotac Zbox..many options now Gigabyte Brix, Asus VivoPC...

Awesome man.
Nice watch!
6:19 Elrics like I know what that shit is
Can this be used as a windows vista htcp?
I think the i5 model with a 2.5" WD Black would make for a decent entry level Steam Machine.
love the 2.5inc drive support, but if you havent included power cables and wifi like Gigabyte Brix, you would have been left behind.
What kind of preformance is one looking at here? As in day to day use and gaming (i dont expect great things) i just want to know how much could it clock
I would deffentially not buy this for gaming for obvious reasons considering they're using integrated graphics but of course you could game on it
I wouldnt either, i was just curious on its preformance
Same I just noticed that the new amd apu's came out so i'm really intrested in seeing how that stacks up with this
SantaCllaws AMD is ahead of Intel with Integrated graphics.
Definitely not going to work out for gaming, haha.
Holy crap. All we need now are holographic screens.
so is it just a small pc or what? i don't get what it is
Wow, very cool.
If AMD released something like this they would be a great seller... Considering what they said how people want a lower price if AMD made these they would be really cheap and a huge seller in my mind.
This is it!
will it run on any computers????
Lather me in honey and call me shitter this looks pretty cool
A small form factor pc like that would be good for home theater set up . but keep it off my desk i like my big gaming machine that i built on my desk showing its self off
i'm thinking to take a nuc celeron for my 9 yrs old sister. it's perfect for her, to check the internet end use a litle bit of word
do you guys think it can run starcraft on lowest settings and resolution (1024x768)?
i meant starcraft 2
i think this is more for video editing /pc work /storge space than for gaming its small and practical with nice storge but it cant perform good enuch to run end-games on it (any way if u travel alot and in need storge/pc work/videoediting i think this is machine for u) :)
id like to see AMD's new APU's in a compacted size like this
unless i was deploying a large dumb terminal system i would never go with celeron, and given the choice i would likely go with atom procs in that situation (if i didn't need power so much that i could consider a celeron, atom will do just as well and use less power). but the i3 and i5 solutions could be useful for any number of situations where a device needs to be independent of the cloud.
an overexpensive dos system lol
Shredderman err, they would still be windows nt based systems (as is windows 7 and windows 8, both of them being unix based.....)
Shredderman
you are aware that dumb terminals still exist right? they are frequently just called terminals, but terminals can contain permanent storage devices, dumb terminals specifically refer to devices that have no permanent storage beyond a bios that lets them log into a terminal server to boot a cloud based os, yeah, the cloud isn't new and hasn't been new for decades.
kght222 Unix??? I'd rather run a terminal based Linux OS on one of them.
Shredderman
linux is based on unix
Can someone tell me what a Nuc is?
What is the nuc?
That's cool
That's going to be my *porn download machine*!
*xD*
are these actually fanless?
its good for office like conditions where you want fast access to database n files n all those stuff but not for gamers point of view :P
You're hired. :D
intel should give i3 with irispro to along with this nuc...
They should make one whit HDMI 2.0 and dominate the HTPC market.
Nice
WHATS THIS ... A PC FOR ANTS?
he is hired yay
Imagine if AMD made this with there new APU it would be like a mini fucking computer that could play modern games at a reasonable frame rate. It would need a cooler for it though so it would be bigger. MAYBE WATER COOLED? :D
more powerfull than the xbox one...
steam console?
Good, htpc should be smaller and lighter so intel's NUC is a win. Its bloody tiny
And this is why the new trashcan is so small
can it run BF4 on 1440p?
just kidding. what is this for?
Some office Excel Keyboard slamming?

just wait till amd releases one with an a10 7800
wow, talk about a coupla stiffs o_O
when someone creates one with a proper gaming graphics card it may well kill off the big desktop pc.
They could just fit a graphics chip like what's in a ps4
Mac Mini competitor...~!
my youtube dont work wtf video wont load to me
lol haha i have but now i fix it ::D and i type it on the wrong youtube video haha
David Duarte Video loads just fine with my fx-8350 :p
haha :D my amd athlon 640 just works fine just some dust on it and nothing more :D
U can even install WD dual drive. Sp this is ur very very tiny PC.
Ssd = super slow drive :DD
gönder bana bundan bir tane
amd has a lil one to can play cod 4 on it lol
You're welcome sparkeldud. grow up kid. No one cares.
Why does this guy Intel guy sound like hes not a big people guy imo.
