It takes some pretty huge balls to develop this unique dice game, complete with combat modifiers, different builds that you can make for it and then tie it into the worlds lore in a very meaningful way... and then tell the player they can ignore it lol. Props to them for not forgetting gamers are gonna game.
I like the fact that some of the wildlife and/or enemies that you battle look like they're based off of different types of prehistoric animals such as pterosaurs or prehistoric mammals such as the boar looking thing at 21:45 look almost like an entelodont which were prehistoric carnivorous mammals that looked like pigs or boars (which they got the nickname "hell pig" from) but were actually more related to hippos. Awesome video and have an excellent day.
A number of the animal names seem to be taken from Latin animal names too. The colourful flying reptiles in this starting area, for example, are called Chromopteryxes, the ant eater bear things are called Odonodons, and later on there are these creepy human-sized froghopping starnosed moles called Astrovores. I don't think Latin exists in Zenozoik, but these names seem like they could have come from actual prehistoric animal names. It's a very primal-feeling world, with generally low technology from the looks of it. And I really like it.

During combat or in the menu? The biiig bar in combat with a fist next to it fills up as you fight. You consume it to enter the first person mode. Hit the enemy enough to initiate a finisher that does a lot of dmg. You can be smacked out of it though. During the pause menu, below the stances and special moves are spots for you to insert the figurines you collect which power up the stances and moves. The coloured bars next to each stance and ability tells you what they scale from the most corresponding to the four core stats.

@@Beelz55 That was me! If you plan on playing the original 2 games then there are minor spoilers in he swamp area and the cool section in the town after collecting 3 shield artifacts. It's not that much of a spoiler and is fairly crytpic so it's not that big of a deal. Currently you need to go north and after that you can go to the corwid woods instead of the swamp if you do want to avoid spoilers for Zeno Clash 2. Remember to collect all the cubes to unlock the secret archive in Zeno clash 2 for the full story!

This game looked really fun! I am currently watching the vod you have for Twitch, but man I must say that "The_Monkey_Man_Experience" guy was mad annoying in the chat. He just kept spamming "Beelz did you know the three guys before the end game boss drop the best armor?", "Beelz up the hill. no go up that hill on the left. that hill over there there a guy who drops glass", "Beelz did you know the colors increase your damage for that move and and the more color is more damage". It ruined me trying to read the chat and everything as he just kept spoiling stuff and being a spoil sport. I'm very surprised the mods for your chat didn't do anything about him, but anyway I really enjoyed watching you play through this and am looking forward to more skull too!
No fucking way that someone still plays any game from the Clash series. I got Zeni Clash for christmas when i was in my teens, the atmosphere and lore in that game is incredible if a little scuffed.

Kind of a: "I'll kick your ass, but only if you ask, real nice like.." Followed up with: "Geez, they hit hard! I wonder what I said to piss'em off?"
It was also rhetorical as I was surprised at how refreshing his character type was. More of a ''Why is his character just so nice?'' in a good way. I've been praising him and his no-bullshit attitude throughout the entire game. If he wasn't how he is, I doubt it would work.

3 fold I'm afraid. First, it's a Twitch stream. So the footage has been ripped from the VOD. Then imported, edited and exported through my editing software. Then UA-cam. The footage was put through the washer several times. But I still believe with that knowledge in mind it's easy to see this game is gorgeous and plays very well.

The first 3 hours we ran into some technical probs here and there but I had them corrected at the beginning of the second session.
