That is a trap that can be massed produced in a short time and set faster and with less hassle. It is almost fool proof and it seems to be more sensitive to me than traditional notching. Great demo Dave and kudos to Jamie for the great idea.
Ahh heck yeah”! Another nice little easy peezy get’r done down&dirty Allot easier in a self reliance situation then having to carve the notch’s correctly Hmm might add a few on hand in my fig4 kit Thanx Dave
I always carry rubberband. I wrap them around the neck of my water bottle, my lighter, etc. Same with paracord, electrical tape and duct tape. It's light weight and doesn't take up extra space.
I do the same with waterproof first aid tape around a pill bottle. I take along a few Aleve, Motrin etc in the bottle. One wrapping of narrow tape and one wrap of wider. Have close to two full rolls.
Wow....absolutely brilliant. Perfection, I think. How do you improve on this? I don't think you can other than the obvious....the way the sticks are held together. The bait stick can be longer and what not but the basic design is genius. Thank you so much for sharing.
Very nice trap. What is your prefwed trap for a few days of you are in a state that prohibits deadfalls. Also will you do a rundown of the new woolblanket you are selling on your website.
I like that the whole trap clears the log when it falls. Less airspace means a quicker, more ethical kill. Great trap design. Cheers! Chris.
Any trigger that does not clear can cause issues and failed catches, good eye brother
F-ing genius. Something you see once and wonder how you've never thought of it.

Someone gave this a thumbs down! Seriously! Good Lord! This is gold! I hate carving notches and getting everything aligned, this is perfect.
dave has always had haters.....been watching him for years now and there is always a thumbs down lol
Probably someone who is worried about harming squirrels or rats.
Shail Adrian, Could it be, because there is no link to Jamie's website ? The inventor .
Or could it be like you they don't pay attention, to the link in the description box to his YT Channel?
The genius of simplicity! Looks light enough to catch a field mouse. Thanks Dave ( and Jamie).
Thanks Dave,, teach our children well.
Absolutely brilliant JB!!! I always disliked making and using F4's You have made history. Thanks.
Thank you Dave for all the hard work you put into these videos, God bless you always.
This is by far the best series on UA-cam at the moment, thanks again Dave!
Thank you

Wow! Nice variation on the figure 4 looks much easier to set than a paiute dead fall something else to put in the bag-o-tricks
Excellent Mr Burleigh did an awesome job coming up with that tip

It looks like a #12 bank line, it is put out in scales or 12, 24,36, up to 96. Cool modification to the figure 4 I've been follow JB as well.
It is #12
you looked like you were getting pumped up to do this video! This is a version of the f4. Can't wait to try it. Thanks!

Like the simple trigger mechanism must try it, 👌👍🇬🇧
that is phenomenal.
Amazing man...so effective
Perfect timing for my lunch break dave
I still like the paiute deadfall, but sometimes different circumstances call for different tactics. Always good to have an extra tool in the box!
Brilliant

I LOVE IT!
I like it.
Great videos Dave. Hey Dave do you have any of the old pathfinder stickers. Mine finally wore off my windshield after all these years. ???
You would have to call SRO brother, we do not keep stock here at the School
good video mate
Very nice trap. What is your prefwed trap for a few days of you are in a state that prohibits deadfalls. Also will you do a rundown of the new woolblanket you are selling on your website.
We can use them on vermine but not furbearers, I prefer the PDF4 for a survival trap as well as Metal rat traps
Slick!
David Canterbury - What are the dimensions of those sticks? I am wanting to try this out this soon. Thank you for the information that you share!!
Depends on the size of the deadfall you are making
Just when you start to think that maybe there is nothing new...
Way nice!.....should have been obvious.....thanks
Bad ass!!!!!
2 snaps up !
Really nice video how long do the sticks have to be to make the trap thank you
Depends what you plan on killing. The one he made there is for a squirell.
I wonder if one took some small nails with them if they could make this trap?
There is no link to His You tube Channel in the notes
real cool
...brilliant, the Piutes are rollin' over in their graves somewhere....
